Hallo Kurt,
diese user-Liste leitet Anhänge in mails nicht weiter. So kann ich leider nicht
sehen, was Du angefügt hast.
Du musst also entweder die Meldung selbst abtippen oder sie als Foto irgendwo
im Netz deponieren und den Link dazu schicken.
Dass die Meldung "unerwartet beendet" bei mir auch mit einem Apple-eigenen
Programm auftauchte, hatte ich Dir ja schon geschrieben.
Probiere bitte mal Folgendes:
Es gibt einen Ordner, den OpenOffice selbst anlegt. Man findet ihn unter dem
Pfad
/Benutzer:innen//Library/Application
Support/OpenOffice
Diesen Ordner kannst Du gefahrlos umbenennen, NACHDEM Du OpenOffice beendet
hast, so bleiben darin abgelegte persönliche Wörterbücher und eigene Vorlagen
erhalten.
(Zur Sicherheit kannst Du überprüfen, ob das Programm wirklich nicht mehr
läuft, wenn Du das Programm "Aktivitätsanzeige" öffnest und unter dem Punkt
"CPU" den Spaltennamen "Prozessname" anklickst. Die nun alphabetisch sortierten
Programme lassen sich leicht nach "OpenOffice" absuchen. Falls der Name noch in

Problemlösung etwas weiter gekommen bin.

Ergebnis, dass das Programm sich öffnen lässt. Man kann ganz normal arbeiten.
Wenn ich aber den Rechner schließe, erscheint nach dem Neustart des Rechner und
OO die alte Fehlermeldung wieder, daß OpenOffice unerwartet beendet wurde.
Heute habe ich auch schon mit Apple telefoniert, in der Hoffnung, dass Apple
mir was sagen kann. Trotz gemeinsamer Fehlersuche in den Einstellungen meines
Mac Book Air haben wir nichts erreicht. Von Apple kam nur der Hinweis, dass
eventuell die neue Version von OpenOffice noch nicht auf die aktuelle Software
von Apple abgestimmt ist, nämlich mit SONOMA in der Version 14.2.1.

Update Problem Open Office 4.1.15
Hallo Günter, Nachdem ich im Moment (noch) keine neuen Probleme mit dem Funktionieren von OO habe, will ich Dir nur kurz auf Deine Frage antworten, was mit „ Freischaltung“ gemeint ist. Du hattest den Begriff in Deiner e-mail auch schon verwendet, von daher hat mich Deine Frage etwas überrascht .Also, gemeint ist die Zustimmung beim Öffnen von OO, unter Umgehung der Forderung von Apple hinsichtlich der Verifizierung der Softwareentwickler. ( Drücken der Taste „Control“ beim gleichzeitigem Öffnen der Datei). Soweit so gut: Auf alle Fälle danke ich Dir für deine Hinweise bei gleichzeitiger Unterstützung der Moral, die in den Momenten des Versagens von Software immer etwas in Leidenschaft gezogen wird. Hallo Günter,
Ich habe jetzt die OO-Version 4.1.14 heruntergeladen und aufgespielt.
Diese funktioniert, wobei ich auch hier nach mehrmaligen Öffnen des Programm
ein „Beenden" des Programm feststellen mußte. Allerdings bin ich in der Lage,
das Programm jedes Mal über den Umweg der Freischaltung neu zu starten.
Eventuell muss ich eine noch ältere Version aufspielen.
Ich halte Dich auf dem Laufenden.

Vielen Dank für Deine Rückmeldung und Deine Hilfestellung zu meinem Problem.
Ich sehe, dass Du genau auf den Text aufpasst und so habe ich mal den
Bildschirmausdruck von der Fehlermeldung beigefügt. Die Meldung lautet:
„beendet“
Mit der Freischaltung von Apple habe ich kein Problem, zumal das Update auf
meine iMAC einwandfrei funktioniert. Auch auf dem MAC Book Air ist das Programm
freigeschaltet, aber wie gesagt, das Programm wird unerwartet beendet.
Die Vorgänger-Version 4.1.11 hat auf dem MAC-Book bisher wunderbar
funktioniert, aber wenn ich umsteigen kann, so werde ich die alte Version
wieder installieren. Es ist das erste Mal, dass ich mit Updates ein Problem
habe, von daher hatte ich in der Vergangenheit nie Bedenken gehabt.

I applied your update a few days ago an after the update I was not able to open any of my saved documents I had to uninstall the update an go back to the previous version so if there is a bug then fix it so I can then use the update until then I cant. Diese Meldung ("... wurde unerwartet beendet") taucht außer nach Abstürzen von
Programmen oder bei ihnen eingebauten Extensionen gelegentlich auf, wenn
Programme eine Weile NACH ihrem Beenden durch den user dem Betriebssystem noch
(auf eine mir unbekannte Weise) aktiv scheinen. Das passierte mir u.a. sogar
schon mit einem Apple-eigenen Programm (Logic Pro). Hast Du die Meldung direkt
nach dem Starten von OpenOffice bekommen?
Da OpenOffice auf meinem MacBook Pro mit Sonoma ohne zu beanstanden läuft,
vermute ich, dass die Systemeinstellungen Deines MacBook Air hinter dem Problem
stecken. Apple gibt Hinweise dazu, wie man Programme starten kann, die nicht
aus dem Appstore der Firma bezogen wurden:

Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren. am heutigen Tag meldete mein Laptop für Ihre Software ein Update gemeldet. Ich stimmte dem Download zu. Nach der Beendigung des Update Vorgangs öffnete das Programm meinen Browser. Nun zu meinem Problem damit!!! Ich habe damit das Problem das meine gesamten Fenster und gespeicherten Tabs vom OpenOffice Updater gelöscht wurden! Was soll das denn bitte? Wieso hat der Updater das gemacht? I've used it for all this time. I'm 80, and legally blind. Recently when using Open Office I get the message that I can download an update. I would love to do so but I was never told or given info or a password. The man who put the computer together has moved away and I no longer have contact info with him; thus no way to see if he has the password anymore. So ... Where do I go from here? Dear, Hope you can help me out with the following issue I do encounter. I upgraded OpenOffice to version 4.1.14 yesterday. I encounter the following problem with an existing file created in previous versions of OpenOfficeCal - consists at the moment of 65 pages - The option to create new pages is not available any more, neither replacing the existing ones. Opening of pages is no problem. I did increase the memory capacity via option > memory, hoping this might help. Any idea how I can manage an extensive number of pages in same file? Hello, Microsoft Support responded last night after I had gone to bed. Support gave me a Powershell command to reverse the Windows 11 update. I had to execute the Powershell command 3 times and restart each time but it did work. Hello, Windows 11 update tonight installed - June 14, 2022--KB5014697 (OS Build 22000.739) after the reboot of Windows 11 I attempted to edit a text document I had started earlier in the day. OpenOffice started, reported that it was opening the document. When the document did not open I clicked in the OpenOffice panel and the title bar of OpenOffice reported "Not Responding". I then clicked on the "X" and OpenOffice displayed OpenOffice 4.1.12 is Not Responding and I had to click on Close to force the OpenOffice to close. I restarted Windows 11. OpenOffice did the same with a spreadsheet file I attempted to open. Danke, lieber Dave (und auch nochmals Jan), mit der (nicht empfohlenen) niedrigsten Sicherheitsstufe funktionieren die Makros endlich wieder, nachdem ich OpenOffice dann geschlossen und wieder geöffnet habe. Vorher hatte ich auch diese Option schon versucht, allerdings vergessen, das Programm zu schließen und neu zu starten. Problem gelöst - herzliche Grüße an alle! Muss ich noch irgendeine Einstellung vornehmen, um meine Makros wieder einsetzen zu können? Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren, ich habe im Programm die Nachricht erhalten , dass ein Update zur Verfügung steht und es runtergeladen (Vollversion) und installiert. Es verschwindet aber nicht und zeigt immer wieder an, ``Update verfügbar``. Was habe ich falsch gemacht? MfG

Update Installation problem
Hi I have been using your excellent product for many years. At present, I am trying to install the latest update, but the installation wizard gets to a point were a pop-up window states: "Error 1500. Another installation is in progress. You must complete that installation before continuing this one". I cannot find where another installation is taking place and have deleted all previous update installation programmes. Any idea what is wrong or how to fix it? Regards Peter Wilde

Open Windows 10 Microsoft Store and in the search bar type: "OpenOffice" or "OpenOffice Suite". Currently, these applications are available there to install over Win 10 and I think, that they are compatible languages and the latest version. Actually it appears the problem is that Open Office Base: Report Design has the screen size toggling reversed, opening with a maximized screen but indicating by the screen size icon that it isn't maximized. Und in der Tat ist das eine Bevormundung des Users, von der ich mir vorstellen kann, dass sie Usern, die viel mit entsprechenden Dokumenten arbeiten, recht lästig werden kann. Andererseits zeigt die Erfahrung, dass man sich recht schnell an solche Änderungen anpasst, und irgendwann ganz automatisch nach der Strg-Taste langt, ohne weiter nach zu denken. Insofern sind solche "Vorsichtsmaßnahmen" meiner Meinung nach eher [tm] für die Katz. Es gilt eben nach wie vor die Regel: Soziale Probleme lassen sich nicht mit technischen Mitteln lösen. Lernen und Wissen sind angesagt. IT zu beherrschen ist heute genauso wichtig

Wir werden sehen. Seitdem inzwischen zwei Releases kurz nacheinander von
Problemen behaftet waren mache ich mir doch Sorgen, z.B. Sorgen warum es keine
ernsthafte Auswertung des Release-PROZESSES nach dem Debakel mit BigSur gab.
Das ist weniger Anklage als vielmehr der Hinweis darauf das notwendige
Korrekturen des eigenen Arbeitens nicht gemacht werden. Einen gut
funktionierenden Release-Prozess im Allgemeinen (oder QA-Prozess im Speziellen)
ersetzt man nämlich nicht durch das Mantra das wir alle ganz tolle engagierte
Leute sind und alle nur das Beste wollen ...

Feedback hatte ich Dir hier geschrieben, ein wenig launisch, ein wenig
poientiert, aber doch noch angemessen für ein FOSS-Projekt und zwei Leute die
sich lange kennen.
Du bist es der sich zu einer Belehrung aufschwingt und vor allem der Dinge die
schlecht gelaufen sind auch wieder pauschaliert verteidigt.
Nicht bereit zu sein echte Kritik ernsthaft zu diskutieren ist ein Grundübel
hier im Projekt und die Haltung dazu scheint so ähnlich zu sein wie bei der
TDF, denn die Zufriedenheit bei LO ist auch ganz 'toll':

Hallo Jörg, Links sind ein Sicherheitsproblem,, weil Menschen gerne darauf klicken (dafür sind sie eigentlich ja auch da). Problematisch ist es, wenn dass Linkziel nicht den Erwartungen der Person entspricht, die klickt. Es handelt sich hierbei um ein sehr ernstes Problem angesichts der Schäden, die durch übereifriges Klicken auf Links verursacht worden sind und weiterhin werden können. Will man Links nicht ganz außer Funktion setzen - sind haben schließlich auch ihren Sinn und Nutzen - ist eine Warnhinweis daher angezeigt. Aber man kann auch Sinnvolles immer noch verbessern. Auch ein Hund, der zu oft bellt, ist kein idealer Wachhund. Man kann den ApacheOpenOffice-Entwicklern manches nachsagen - übertriebener Aktionismus gehört aber wohl eher nicht dazu. dieses Verhalten soll ein Sicherheitsproblem beheben.
Leider ist es, weil es nicht nur nette Menschen gibt, dass man beim
Klicken auf einen Link nicht das bekommt, was man erwartet.
Für zwei Gruppen ist das Verhalten ziemlich lästig:
Für die, die ohnehin immer sehr vorsichtig sind.
Für die, die immer auf alles klicken - trotz jeder Warnung.
Für alle anderen mag dieser Hinweis ein wenig zur Achtsamkeit
("awareness") beitragen; aber optimal ist dieses Verhalten des Programms
sicherlich noch nicht.

Hallo ich habe heute meine Open Office Version 4.1.9 auf 4.1.10 upgedatet. Seitdem erscheint beim klicken auf einen Link (auch intern) der Warnhiweis, welche Datei geöffnet wird. As I posted once before, I saw a post that said the “update” action on OpenOffice is broken. I have resorted to just navigating to the download page periodically and checking to see if a new version exists on the download page , downloading and installing if their is a new version. The new version installs seamlessly if you install it to the same or the default location on your computer.
