[videoblogging] Re: vloggercon mention on twit

2006-06-05 Thread LeanBackVids.com

HAHAHA, they do a lot of dissing on the word vlog... and Leo
mentions Andrew Congdon and Amanda from Rocketboom. He also says
this is the first meeting of vloggers.

Leo has a history of misrepresenting information. One time he dissed
Feedburner about publicly announcing his stats, yet he had the
Awareness API running which publizes the numbers. Needless to say,
all the TWiT fanboys took Leo's word and began hating on Feedburner
and canceling their accounts. Very lame.

Anyways, back to this recent incident... Leo goes on to mention
something about doing the TWiT show from the Apple store on Friday.
Is he trying to overshadow the Meet the Vloggers event?

Oh and maybe someone should contact Patrick since he was offended that
nobody invited him to be a media sponsor.

On a side note, Amber and crew will be at Vloggercon shooting and
episode of Torrent...

Viva la vlogs.

TechTV's Screensaver had a cult following. It is how Kevin Rose's

The whole name bashing is very weak...

Blog is short for web log.
Vlog is short for video blog.

Seems to make the most sense to me.

What do the TWiTs recommend? Vodcast?
That is stupid. What the hell is a vod?

Video podcast? May be good for the mainstream media and newbies to
grasp what it is since the word podcast is being hyped.

Vidcast or Vcast? Maybe, but probably won't stick and Vcast is
probably owned by Verizon.

IPTV? This has nothing to do with TV.

I think video blog (vlog for short) and video podcast are here to
stay. I do differentiate between the two though. In my mind, vlogs
tend to be more like blogs and video podcasts are the shows you can
only find in iTunes. Just my 2 cents.

 whats a vlog again?

wikipedia
Vlog: A vlog or video blog is a blog (short for weblog) which uses
video as the primary content; the video is linked to within a
videoblog post and usually accompanied by supporting text, image, and
additional metadata to provide context.

Blog: A weblog (usually shortened to blog, but occasionally spelled
web log or weblog) is a web-based publication consisting primarily of
periodic articles, most often in reverse chronological order.
/wikipedia

But is this new?... Video on the Internet has existed for years. I
used to work for ESPN and we would post videos of the medal winning
runs at the X Games. It was timely and cronological. RSS was not
common at that time, but how was that not a vlog? According to the
above definition, it was... and it was also the year 1999 (5 years
before vlogs were invented).

So part of me does not view vlogging as something new. In my opinion,
it is simply video over IP. However, I do think RSS with media
enclosures is a huge changing factor. Does that mean a vlog must have
RSS? We've tackled this debate before and I'd argue it does not.
Another helping factor was the reduction in price for cameras and
bandwidth.

My point is that we didn't really have a name for video on the
Internet before, but now we are trying to label every type of video
with a single name. I'm not sure it is possible or if everyone will
ever agree.

Matter of fact, I'm not even sure it matters. Video is video. Your
method of consumption will probably be labeled by the device you
choose to watch it on.

This is when your personal filter should come in to play and tune the
redundant conversation out.

As for the naming debate, I think the method of video consumption is
what should labeled and not the site/creator/process.

For example, I have video on my site...

If you watch my video via Tivo's RSS features, that is considered
IPTV. If you watch my video on your iPod, that is a video podcasting.
If you watch video on my blog, that is video blogging.

What is the one label for what I'm creating? VIDEO.

[videoblogging] More social networking on VlogMap

2006-06-03 Thread LeanBackVids.com

VlogMap users can now promote their other social networks,
specifically their MySpace link, latest Flickr photos, del.icio.us
links and Digg.com links.

Here is an example...
http://community.vlogmap.org/user/1

I'm working on redesigning the layout of the profile pages, but it
will probably be on hold until I get the buddy lists working again.
Then it will most likely take on a MySpace-esque layout.

If you're a registered user, just go to your profile page to edit the
optional fields.

Also, note that city/state/country/gender are all searchable too. So
you can find other users by location or gender. Just click on the
links here to view all users specific to that data field...

Please feel free to email me off-list if you have

Just look at what the normal user experience is... A user sees only a
small orange button that says RSS or XML or the square radio wave
icon. None of those are obvious to an RSS virgin. Most people browse
with IE, so even when they do get curious and click the icon, they are
taken to a page that is just code (hieroglyphics to most).

It is an absolutely horrible user experience. Where does it tell the
user to download an aggregator? How do they know to copy/paste the
URL into the aggregator?

I've been a web developer for 10 years and I was completely baffled
the first time I tried to use RSS. (Granted, that was when Bloglines
first came out and few sites had a feed.)

As for the video uploaders, most are using YouTube and/or MySpace.
Both those sites don't promote their feeds very well, which I think is
a sorry attempt to horde content. They rely on advertising, which
means they want people to visit the site and not syndicate it in an
aggregator.

I assume RSS adoption will increase when the masses upgrade to Vista.

It can be hard to decipher jokes from text... I'm a business-minded
(evil?) person and I read the sentence literally.

The forwarded email is only slightly ironic. Freevlog may be giving
away free information, but the site is successful due to its
high-quality screencasts. Notice there is no tutorial on
screencasting. The ability to create a crisp looking screencast
represents the main barrier to entry. Giving away the secrets of
screencasting runs the risk of someone else starting their own
tutorial site.

I'm planning to build out screencast tutorials for how to use VlogMap,
but if that got expanded into basic vlogging tutorials it would be
competing directly w/ Freevlog.

That probably would not be seen as a communal move by Freevlog, even
though others may come to the site and see it as spreading
free/helpful info.

For the record I have no plans of doing so, but I can see why some
sites like to keep some secrets.

Anyways, I apologize for my half of the miscommunication and thank you
very much for emailing me the screenshot of settings.

Ruby on Rails is actually really easy to install on Dreamhost
(assuming UNIX experience), even if their wiki page makes it seem very
hard... http://wiki.dreamhost.com/index.php/Rails

You'll need shell access (really SSH) to your DH account, which you
can check in the Control Panel Users Manage Users.

Once you have shell access, open up a shell. PC users have some
unique steps to take, but Mac users can go into
Applications Utilities Terminal

>From the command prompt, type...
ssh -v [EMAIL PROTECTED]

And log in using your FTP password, not your control panel one.

Now you are securely logged into your DH server.

Type this line, changing example.com to your domain...
rails rails.example.com

Change the public directory permissions...
chmod 755 rails.example.com/public

Now go back into your DH control panel and setup a new sub-domain for
rails.example.com, making sure you check the FastCGI box and using the
rails.example.com/public folder.

That is basically it - just point your browser here...
http://rails.example.com

Now the fun begins! Thanks Markus and Josh for the suggestions.
Looks like VlogMap 3.0 will be made w/ Rails.

Yeah, Google has gotten a lot of heat for not plotting the major
international cities. They're busy hyping that Australia and New
Zealand just got street-level maps.

Anyways, I added a small button to the lower right of the geo finder
map that says Location Search. Clicking it causes a search box to
appear where you can lookup either a US street address or an
international city.

Searching for New Delhi in India returned this location...
http://community.vlogmap.org/maps/geofinder?lat=28.6lon=77.2

I hope that helps you find where you shot video. If not, you could
try using Maporama, which has street-level maps for most major cities
(incl. New Delhi) and displays the lat/lon in the lower left...

2006-05-26 Thread LeanBackVids.com

Mapping vlogs is cool and all, but mapping individual video posts has
the potential to be much more compelling. So now there are two maps...

The original map of vlogs:
http://community.vlogmap.org/maps/worldmap
(Note, unclaimed vlogs are a dark maroon color, while vlogs that have
been claimed by a registered user are bright red.)

And here is the new map of geovlogged videos:
http://community.vlogmap.org/maps/worldmap

How does it work?... After registering, you can plot new markers and
either of the maps. There is more than one way to submit a marker.

Here is more information on submitting content...
http://community.vlogmap.org/handbook/submissions

Notice the bookmarklets that make geovlogging and revlogging (other
peoples' videos) much easier.

I need to find the time to screencast some tutorials, but feel free to
email me directly with any questions/problems you may have. User
feedback is very appreciated. It helps me understand the
needs/problems and is the quickest way to improve the site.

There are currently zero videos that have been geolocated in Mexico,
and I'm looking forward to seeing your vlog represent.

 users on Windows.

Yeah, I completely disagree w/ Quicktime causing Windows/Linux users
to be out of luck. First of all, iTunes has captured the market for
now... it works on both Windows/Mac and is bundled with Quicktime.
Second, Linux users have many options and are used to hunting down
workarounds.

IMHO, topic-based vlogs benefit more from being in iTunes than any
other viewing method (including embedding videos on their site). I've
help a handful of action sports companies create video podcasts and
each has had great success with Quicktime (iTunes).

Each of the sites I've worked on show stats very close to Ridertech...

92.6% = iTunes
0.02% = Yahoo
0.008% = Unknown
0.007% = Bloglines
0.003% = Mefeedia
0.0008% = FireANT

Actually, the other sites show an even higher percentage of iTunes
readers.

Don't get me wrong, I DO think that Flash on the blog (w/ a QT
alternative link) and a Quicktime feed for iTunes is the best. If you
have the Flash FLVs already, you can also easily add a Flash feed.

So where is the problem? Do you think WMV should get more play?
Vlogging already has a high production cost and I do not see the value
in adding WMV right now.

Just my two cents.

note who is there and who is not. Contact those who are missing.

Video podcasting is an easy sell to companies when you show them
that their competitors are already in iTunes. If none of the
competition is listed, then explain how they could capture the
market and be seen as innovators.

The key is to find businesses that already have video. If they don't,
the scope of the project is much larger. Maybe you can then offer to
help film for even more money.

Warning, do not under-bid just to get work. An iTunes podcast is hot
right now and you should go for top dollar (w/o overbidding and losing

[videoblogging] Re: Voxmedia wiki: Flash video

2006-05-23 Thread LeanBackVids.com

Before we continue to debate the various versions of Flash, can
someone post hard numbers for the penetration rate of Quicktime and
Windows Media? My bet is that both are less than Flash... and there
is no doubt a downside to each.

Seems like the best option would be to output both Flash and QT. You
can use the Flash by default on your blog, but also offer a QT link if
they do not have Flash. Better yet, set a cookie for their
preference. Then of course offer a QT feed for iTunes/iPod.

As for the wiki's accuracy, lets just add a link to the Flash
penetration page. It is continually updated and straight from the source.

Thanks Chuck! Although the Flash/QT combo is the best option, I'm

doesn't look very good in Flash.

I don't think there's any question Flash has a bigger installed user

are using it. That's why, after many thousands of visits, I've never
had a single person say your video won't load unless I did something

That said, there are still pros and cons, and I completely agree that
embedding Flash while offering a Quicktime feed is an excellent choice.
That's what I do. Here's a good article discussing Pros and Cons of
Flash video. It's generally more difficult for a novice to create Flash
video, though services like Blip and YouTube perhaps make that a
 non-issue:

I've never seen this problem before, and your WordPess feed is fine...

It must be something in FeedBurner, but I do not know what...

On a related note, you may want to change your WP theme. Currently,
your alternative link in the head is using the WP feed instead of
the FeedBurner one.

Replace these three lines...

link rel=alternate type=application/rss+xml title=RSS 2.0

link rel=alternate type=text/xml title=RSS .92

With this one line...

link rel=alternate type=application/rss+xml title=RSS 2.0

Although it is a very unique industry, the skateboard shoe
manufacturers have all gotten into iTunes video podcasting...

http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewTopAlbums?subgenreId=1316id=33

This was probably a dream come true for them... These companies pay
loads of money to be a part of the numerous DVDs that are released
every year. In addition, they already have pro athletes and tons of
footage to pull from. Question is - does it really help them sell
more shoes? Probably yes.

I just helped Hyperlite (wakeboarding manufacturer) put out their
video podcast the other day and it is already #66 on the Top 100
list. Not sure if Ridertech will be able to hang on though (#93).

Sad part is that the editors of the iTunes directory have way too much
power... they have those featured topics on the podcast frontpage and
if you get listed there it will make a huge difference. Once you're
on the Top whatever list, it then starts promoting itself. Meaning
more people just subscribe to what is popular. All this starts from
(probably) a single iTMS editor.

Not sure that relates directly to the topic at hand, but it was on my
mind.

There are a few different levels of this problem, but tags are indeed
the way to go if you want a solution that is not site-dependent.

Part of the problem you're describing is due to this uber group and

Now with the 'ism' conversations recently I find it hard to keep track
of the every one's input to that conversation.

Tags are great, but (unless I am dense and don't know how to use
blogger) blogger doesn't provide an easy interface to add tags to
posts. Videobloggers may not be inclined to copy and paste the
required html or even know how to use tags properly.

Before I started videoblogging I am sure it was easy to keep track of
these threads since there were a few people participating...but since
the explosion, there's just too many to keep up with 'manually'

I guess in my usual round-about way I am asking this: how can we
facilitate conversation tracking? Groups, and social networks aren't
good for this since they are confined to the hosting site. Do we need
to promote tag usage more? Do we need to poke and prod blog hosting
services to provide support for tags (ie, make is easier to tag). I
think tags are the way to go, but it seems like something is missing.

There are two places that you need to check... make sure the Quicktime
movie was exported using fast start and then make sure that the
object-embed code contains autoplay=true.

2.) play without site visitor having to click on that box that says
Click to run an Active X control on this webpage. Verdi describes
 the problem in his tutorial.

Can you provide a link to the tutorial and a link to your site. I
need to see this problem in order to understand it better.

3.) play in a completely new window at full size, not a popup.

Again, I'm not sure the exact problem but you don't even need
_javascript_ in order to open a new (regular) window. Just use the
target property... a href="" target=_blankLINKTEXT/a

Hope all this is a step in the right direction.

Directly from Apple's website... If you use QuickTime and have
experienced the dialog referenced above while attempting to watch
QuickTime movies with the updated Internet Explorer for Windows, you
may consider trying an alternative web browser.

Awesome they recommend a different browser, but it goes on to provide
a Javascrip hack for IE...
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/tutorials/embed.html

Personally, I'm not a big fan of bloating my page code just to get
around a stupid IE feature. I can't believe Microsloth did this
anyways. The same thing happens with embedded Flash - it takes a click
just to activate the Flash SWF file. That is lame.

All this reminds me of the old-school IE4 vs. Netscape4 hacks.

Yes, each version of the Flash player will playback movies that were

It is much better to use an old version if you don't need the new

My only point is that most Internet users should be disallowing
incoming traffic on all ports. As soon as you open port 80 (http) on

The problem is compounded by opening ports on a personal machine,
which most likely contains sensative data.

On a side note... If you are a Windows user, I highly recommend these

AdAware (removes spyware)

Speakeasy does not block ports...
http://www.speakeasy.net/home/

I used to have 2 static IPs from them. One IP was used by my personal
firewall and blocked all incoming traffic (unless requested
internally). The other IP was a Debian Linux host running Apache,
MySQL and PHP.

Ultimately, I realized that it was much easier to pay Dreamhost
$8/month to for 1 terabyte of bandwidth. Log monitoring in the bash

Speaking of Speakeasy, this is probably the sweetest bandwidth tester

Sorry for recommending the security freak approach...

The .exe files on the desktop are most likely not the cause. They are
probably just PC-based executable files and will do no harm to Mac OS X.

It sounds like you have an unwanted process (1 or more) running in the
background. The Activity Monitor app allows you see everything that is
running. I keep the activity app running in the background... only
because it is fun to watch the dock icon and having two (processor)
bars makes it even more entertaining.

Just go to Applications Utilities Activity Monitor

As for the fresh install, almost every OS has a noticeable boost in
performance if you've been running it for a while. Mac users like to
claim the easy install/uninstall by just dragging/dropping a single
icon, but in reality there are usually a lot more hidden files spread
across the system. Over time, it gets a little junky.

Still, UNIX (Mac/Linux) is much cleaner than the Windows OS.

Good luck

Thank you Casey. This is how I feel too... although don't plan on a
video from me... I generally like watching talking heads, but don't
feel the comfortable posting my talking head. Personally, I like
creating the topic- (hobby) based videos.

It is my opinion that video blogging will indeed become much more like
TV than personal diaries. There is no need to argue about it, just
open up the iTunes Podcast directory (which is what the masses use).

If only we could move on to another topic. At this point, the
arguement is all opinions and probably won't change the casting
calls of future shows.

-Matt

PS - I really hope this does not ignite the diary vs. show arguement.
We've been through that one too many times.

Yeah, I don't like the TV reference either. It is probably better to
call it topic-based vs. personal-based. Not to say personal vlogs
don't have topics, but they are usually focused on the person rather
than the topic.

There really isn't even an argument to debate. It is all content...
watch what you like and tune out what you don't.

To each his/her own. Viewer choice is the beauty of this movement.

[videoblogging] Re: Looking for a video podcast hostess

2006-05-10 Thread LeanBackVids.com

I'm not sure this is a TV thing, but rather a human thing.

Most people (both men and women) find women much more appealing to
look at than a man. A sweet voice and smooth skin is easier to
relate to than a deep voice coming out of a hairy being.

Of course, there are always exceptions but this is the general theory
for radio, print and TV. Hence why most advertising is done w/ women
models rather than men.

Josh, this is a little unfair. Sian has a marketing plan for his site
and simply asked for help finding a video podcast hostess.

Rather than being freindly and helpful, many users would rather flame
his business plan. That is not very communal.

Adam Quirk was the only one who provided a helpful response by
providing the following sites.

http://mandy.com/
http://onemodelplace.com/
http://craigslist.com

Why try to make this into some big women as objects argument?

It is his site and he knows what he wants. Making Sian look like some
sexist person trying to exploit women is rude.

I highly doubt anything said about women in advertising will change
the fact that women sell to more people than men.

It sucks we probably won't see any more posts from them.

I'm all for discussions and arguments, but something bothers me about

been sensitive and defensive.

>From Wikipedia... Inflammatory, sarcastic, disruptive or humorous
content is posted, meant to draw other users into engaging the troll

community the more likely the user is to troll again, as the person
develops beliefs that certain actions achieve his/her goal to cause
chaos. This gives rise to the often repeated protocol in Internet

Sadly, this is becoming more frequent here. I feel it hinders our

The fact is that not everyone is making personal video blogs. The
same technology we use is also being using for video podcasting
shows. Many of those shows are indeed TV-like and they tend to
follow the old (proven) methods.

Generally speaking, the show-style is more popular (more viewers) than
the diary-style. Not only is it a familiar format, but these shows
are being heavily promoted in iTunes.

Again, I'm not defending the hottie hostess issue. I'm only trying to
point out that we all have different vlogs for different reasons.

This group has always been anti-show... Vloggers may have started
this movement, but the big players and their shows are moving
forward with or without us.

The point of all this? To validate my concerns...

It is my opinion that this group is very closed off from the rest of
the video blogging world. Sure it is very tight-knit and friendly,
but the group seems to have hovered around the 50-250 participating
members since last year. There must be a way to bridge the gap
between all the other vloggers.

Note: If you don't think the results are an accurate representation, I
can analyze more data, but I believe that the trend will be the same.

Plug? HAHAHA! I try to do good an get accused of bad - thanks.

Considering most vloggers haven't even attempted to claim their vlog
listing on the new VlogMap, I'm not really concerned about plugging
the forums.

I'll admit, I thought adding forums to VlogMap would be an added
service. The goal was to provide another connection point for
international vloggers and those interested in video blogging.

However, the reality is that VlogMap gets 80-90% non-vlogger traffic.
Most people come from searching Google, yet they still seem to be
confused about what vlogging is.

Many of the visitors are from outside the US. Many are visiting to
find videos. Most are not vloggers. That does provide a good
opportunity for those listed to reap traffic. Andy Carvin has mapped
a ton of videos and has probably seen a slight increase in traffic.

Anyways, I'm not sure how to continue... it is hard to develop tools
for the community (minority) yet focus on the viewers (majority).

That being said, the future of VlogMap is in the community's hands.
If users don't add vlogs/geovlogs then it will go stale. If users
don't moderate the listings, it may get filled w/ junk.

As for the forums and handbook, they may get pulled down since nobody
is using them. Participating would plug yourself. VlogMap operates
on a $0 budget and makes $0. My only goal is to better the community
and provide useful/fun tools for vloggers.

Sorry that is seen as a plug.

My point is that the Yahoo Group is small, hidden and not gear for
non-vloggers.

There are many topics here that would benefit people outside the
group, but it does not have enough exposure. Search 'vlog', 'vlogs',
'video blog' or 'video blogs' and the Yahoo Group does not come up.

start plug here

VlogMap gets a shit load of traffic from search engines and
international media articles. Most of the visitors are visiting to
watch vlogs or find out more about vlogging.

I feel VlogMap has a responsibility to meet the needs of this
majority, yet I'm not sure how to proceed if the community is not
behind it. I would love to get the community's help, but it sounds
like some are concerned about driving traffic to another site.

Each forum on VlogMap does have an RSS feed, and there is an uber RSS
feed for the site (including new vlogs and geovlogged videos).

Here you go Josh and Markus... just in case you could find it. (sarcasm)

Because I think the general discussion of the Yahoo Group is too
much and the group is not very inviting new members or non-vloggers.

It is my opinion that forums should be broken down into sub-topics so
that users can pay attention to the things they are interested in (or
understand).

As for linking to Yahoo (and others), I'm hoping to build out a
complete video blogging handbook. Any registered user can create a
new pages, yet not a single user has tried.

The amount of work it took to get the new site up combined by the lack
of community support has taken its toll on my motivation. I have
hopes of building many more tools/features, but we'll see.

Again, I'm not sure how to gear the site toward the 80% non-vloggers
yet satisfy the 20% of vloggers (who VlogMap relies on for content).

Response to each comment below...

--- In videoblogging@yahoogroups.com, Markus Sandy [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

hmmm, you obviously left out the search words where it is in the
top 3
 or 4

 such as videoblogging

That is a word that is probably much lower than vlog(s) and video
blog(s). It is much more commone amongst the community members than
it is to the average Web user. Also noote, video blogging does not
show the Yahoo Group in Google.

http://www.google.com/search?q=video%20blogging

also, most of the top search results will lead you here very quickly
 because of link love

one obvious exception: the new vlogmap seems to have far less links to
the external community on it's main pages

no obvious badges, links , etc. on front page

if it is so important for this group to be visible, why not point to it
 more directly???

The external community links have been added to the bottom of the home
page, exactly like the old site. The badges were removed many months
ago due to the lollipop look.

The links were not removed to horde traffic. I intended to build out
detailed pages with screenshots and photos for the handbook. The
launch came a month early and it was a scramble to organize
everything. I apologize for the unintentional diss.

http://community.vlogmap.org/

i think vlogmap II looks fantastic, but i must admit I use it much less
since the changes (i was a daily user)

i'm not 100% sure why, but i think it was mainly just small changes to
the feedburner stats page for me

I'm very sorry you are no longer a regular visitor. I'm surprise you
have an issue with the FeedBurner stats since the only changes have
been improvements. You can now see compare up to 10 vlogs of your
choice and see each comparison (or an individual vlog) over various
timeframes (24 hours to 1 year). Note, none of the old features were
removed.

http://community.vlogmap.org/feedburner

also, it seemed that the node101 sites got lost in the shuffle

Not sure what you mean? Node 101 was not part of the bottom home page
links, but that was a mistake. I will add it now.

btw, here's a great video that discusses the effects of UI changes on
 communities

http://sbforum.blogspot.com/2006/04/rob-kaye-watch-video-tag-sbforum.html

I'll watch...

Thank you for your feedback! I've made a point to address every issue
that has been presented (commented or emailed) to me. This is the
quickest way to make the site better.

Sometimes, I'm too close to the development to see these issues.

Thanks David for bring this back on track and restating the original

Side note to Markus... I did not just add that pin. Maybe you did not
see it earlier due to the clustering of markers. Anyways, I'm glad no

[videoblogging] Re: Bridging The Gap

2006-05-09 Thread LeanBackVids.com

I'm not sure what we can do as a larger community, but as the only
developer of VlogMap, my mind is centric to the site...

I'm not trying to compete with other sites, but I do feel a
responsibility to those who visit VlogMap. Over the past year, I've
analyzed where visitors come from and what paths they take through the
site. Most are not vloggers and many have very little knowledge of
what we are doing. If we can welcome them and educate them on the
basics, we may be rewarded with more vloggers.

Combine the issue of non-vloggers, those who are technically
challenged, and people who are not comfortable with English, and it
becomes hard to build a site that caters to each. My intention for
building forums and a handbook was to bridge the gap between tech-
and non-tech vloggers, as well as vloggers and non-vloggers. I see
forums has something that is mainly used by existing vloggers
(searched for info by all) and the handbook as a way for everyone to
teach/learn more.

There is indeed a problem with repeat questions and the inability to
find answers here on the Yahoo Group. It is my opinion that this
group is very powerful, yet very small. We cannont expect everyone to
come join this group and keep up on the myriad of discussions. There
aren't even 1,000 vlogs mapped yet (many are not part of this group),
BUT there is a large influx of viewers on VlogMap. It would be nice
to get help in educating them. I simply do not have ability to manage
all this, but they are here now.

The solution does not have to be VlogMap-based, but I'm not sure where
to begin the education process.
