This happens to me a lot. Remove mail from the app switcher. Open mail and
empty the junk and trash folders. Close mail and reopen it and the stubborn
messages should have been removed.

As far as the iPhone, the app is a bit clunky. You can schedule a recording
if you use the search tab and type in the name of the show you want to
