I think what you are experiencing, is in some books the first letter of the
chapter is artsy, or calligraphy. This is an image that voiceover cannot
pick up. This is true on many Kindle book

I do the same as you. Although, I've run across books on Amazon which, at the
beginning of some pages, especially after chapter beginnings, would have the
first few letters of the first word missing. I found that a bit irritating, as
I'd paid for a good copy of the books in question.

Always is a really big word with Amazon. I've purchased a book where
maybe the image for the sighted was good, the searchable text we read
was crappy ocr. They will take it back, but you have to be willing to

My experience thus far with Kindle magazines is excellent. I have used Zinio on
