Why are you afraid that no one will work? Do you think that to be a valid worry? I think it's a myth that keeps the rightwingers in the flock, and nothing else. Once, about 100 years ago or more, we had also a globalized world much like to day, however the communications were much slower. There were very few partys to contradict the right wing and the capitalism was runling alone. We all know what happened. Wars and communism as many people got into trouble as there was no economic safetynet in those days. Nothing is new under the sun. The same complaining about the bums and the lazy was going on. It was their own fault that they had no work. It was their own fault that there showed up 100 applicants for every work. It does not take much thinking to understand that there was some logic here that didn't fit. It was not the workers fault that the companies went bust and they, themselves ended up on the street with wife and children. For some reason that never happend to the capitalists. The workers unions started an organisation that could provide a small sum for some limited time. The idea spread and the state took up the idea and formed unemployment organisations run by the unions. But we also know that this was done under a hard resistance from the rightwing parties. The reasons given by them were the same that you use to day. The history shows that those reasons were invalid. In some countrys in Europe they were slower to recognize that all people has their rights.War and communism came out of that. What if the idea of the welfare state had been much more wellcome? Maybe the 20:th century had been a much more pieceful one instead becoming the most warfilled in history. Then they will want their daughter or son to get one of those good jobs and then you will need more bums. I would rather the government produce jobs in some less destructive way. It would be better for the country AND the bums. If no one says anything it will just get worse. Most people don't want to be bothered worrying about it. Then I WILL DO SOMETHING. (It's a collective unemployment insurance in Sweden). The second time refusal it's 50% of for 100 days. The third time it's cut off and then it's off to social security where there is a whole lot of explaining to do. And to participate in jobsearching activities if they want to get money regularly. To be excepted for unimployment money again they have to have a 12 month period of regular work, the same way they qualified in the first place. There is no such pressing on the refusals in the USA? poverty. If it doesn't, how do they live then? We are talking about babies.
Not villans. What about making sure that the fathers help a little more, when
it cames to lone mothers. If there is something wrong here the adults are to

No, the point is that if the US continues on the path it has been since
1964, within a few decades we will have more people on the government paycheck
than we will have people paying taxes and our country will collapse from
within, like most great societies. The point is our government is encourages
welfare and give away programs and discourages self-reliance and investments
for the purpose of generating income.
We tax payers are far more concerned about the way our taxes are
spent than the amount of taxes we pay. The future of our country rests
in the votes of the uneducated, illiterate persons that have never paid any
taxes. This group of voters will soon outnumber the educated and taxpaying
work force. there is no doubt that the results will not be favorable for the
continuation of our country.
You are typical liberal. Even you can see (I know you are not that stupid)
that the USA and many countries in Europe can not cope with the ever
increasing tax burden and shrinking taxpayer base.

On the other hand: most of the countrys in Europe
has also much bigger taxes. The result of that is that a much bigger part of
those money spent is returning to the state or community in the form of taxes
one way or the other. The extreem is if some one use some of the money to by a
bottle of boose. Then 95% returns directelly as a taxincome to the state.

People who are TRULY in need are well taken care of by the government and by

Denmark: Copenhagen. Across the Öresund sound.
Reasently a bridge for both cars and trains was completed (a year ago) between
Copenhagen and Malmö (30 miles south of here). Now is planned a train tunnel between
the danish town Helsingör and the swedish town Helsingborg. (15 miles north) The
investigation is helped by funds from EU.
Yes, I live in a small town, but still in the middle of it all. And a supermarket
excists in the same block, the library in the next. Bus station a few blocks away with
connections to any part of this south part of Sweden, as well as the main part of
Denmark with it's Capital Copenhagen. My small appartement has an advantage: it's too
small to get lost in, and to cheap to ruin me. On the contrary. It gives me money left
for other things. I live on the 5:th floor but my wiew is, 2.5 floors down, the roof
of an old cinema (not very beatiful, but you can't get everything). On the other hand:
it's very calm here as the sound of the city traffic is kept out. A good place that
leave me time to think.
