The notorious old chicken thrower Naylor was on Perry Mason again this
morning on MeTV.It seems like he is on Perry Mason every week, but I looked
it up and he only appeared on 8 episodes. For a while I thought Naylor was
going to be the guilty party, but at the end the victim's wife
Yesterday, while watching the Western Channel, I spotted one of our TAGS
alumni playing the part of a famous person.They were showing the movie
"True Grit", and there was Cousin Ollie playing like he was the famous hanging
judge, Isaac Parker.

I had the oddest alumni sighting ever yesterday while watching TCM. They
were showing this ancient movie from 1931 called "Way Back Home".It was a
filmed adaption of a radio show popular in the 1930's called "Seth Parker".

Football Bowl Games. Before I had left I noticed that The Western TV

On Wednesday's Gunsmoke Gomer Pyle's own Sgt. Carter (Frank Sutton) guest
starred as a man thought to be a retired army general's son and Mrs.
Mendelbright's con-man appeared as a retired colonel.

While flipping through channels, I saw Malcolm Merriweather in a scene so I
backed up. Oh, it was Bernard Fox alright, but he was in The Danny Thomas Show
Christmas show playing a waiter named Alfie. You can call him Alfie, but the

Perry Mason. None other than old Naylor the chicken thrower. I guess

This morning I was watching Gunsmoke on MeTV. The plot of the show was
somewhat similar to the TAGS show where Andy has to foreclose on Lester Scoby.
Matt had to evict some old boy. But anyway, playing a big part in the show
was our favorite David Browne impersonator, Buddy Ebsen.
While I was watching the 1941 movie "Shadow of the Thin Man" Sunday afternoon
on TCM, I spotted the original Ben Weaver (Will Wright) as one of the suspects.
Old Ben even had some dark hair on top of his head, this being 1941.
Mr. Wright died while he was a cast member of TAGS and had to be

the suspects in the show were Mayor Stoner and Neil Bentley (Jay Novello).

Today while watching Cheyenne on The Westerns Channel, I spotted Forrest
Lewis. Forrest Lewis played, among others, Cy Hudgins, who brings the
loaded goat into town.
I got to noticing that Forrest Lewis made 6 appearances on TAGS, and he had 5
different names.The time Ellie ran for

times when I spotted someone I had never noticed before. Jesse White, our
Fred Boone, in his last screen appearance. Jesse passed away the next year.
Also in the episode is Ann Morgan Guilbert. She was Ella when
Watching Gunsmoke today on MeTV Tuesday, I spotted J. Howard Jackson (the big
newspaper publisher that Andy hunted down). Also of interest in the same
show, there was a very small Cindy Brady a year before she began The Brady

I was watching Superman on MeTV yesterday and spotted this guy who looked
familiar but couldn't place him right away. It turned out to be none other
than Briscoe Darling himself. This show was about 12 years before his first
appearance on TAGS.
