We have tried the full sized nanostations. They have an external SMA
connector so you can put an antenna on them with some decent gain.

and hands. Once you got up, then you would throw the one single belt around

There is a giant reactive near field around the AM antenna.
(Electric fields and Magnetic fields)
Your cat 5 was probing the electric field at two different voltage points.
For AM broadcast frequencies, you can actually take a volt meter
I have used the Trango GigaLink and DragonWave. DragonWave is rock solid.
Never a problem. Have several systems.
We are still trying to get the Trango to play. Lots of signal but not
running well at all.

I guess I should qualify that a bit. They suck when you are comparing voice
quality.
They are superior when delivering arguably acceptable voice communication
with a minimum of bandwidth.
