I still don't understand how you are forcing the tranny harder with a short
shifter. It's like holding a metal bar at the end, versus holding it at the
middle. You are still lifting the same weight, it just feels heavier when
you are holding it at the end. All you are doing is changing the fulcrum of
the shifter. It is harder for you to shift, but it still takes the same
amount of force to get the car into gear, cold or not. I hope you see what
I'm talking about. Just my opinion though. I might be totally wrong.
