Jay, I think you would be un happy with your shifter if you did this and if
the "aftermarket" shifter is installed correctly there will not be any gear
grind hassles, that happens when tranmission gear oil is not getting to the
parts inside your transmission when it is cold and the transmission oil has
not had a chance to warm up or parts inside your transmission are begining to
wear out. For the most part JB weld is meant to be used as a temp. fix until
you can repair what has broken correctly.
