Yeah, the vice is hard and spiky, but remember, the knob is wrapped with a
thick towel, and the "spikiness" of the vice helped for grip.  The knob was
kepted, though.

Well... The notchy feeling is no longer there, it's been well over a year since
my Pacesetter/SMC shifter was installed.  But who knows... Maybe I am in need
for a new shifter bushing.
