How about this proposal:
1) William, Bruce and Sander continue on the Board. (*)
2) The community nominates new board members (for a total of five).
3) The existing board members vote for two of the nominees to join the
board.
(*) I think that's the current membership; but correct me if I'm wrong.
I think this is a working compromise that address most concerns.
