Blender hairs are sort of frozen particle trail,  while particles are activated
as an modifier on mesh. This allows some nice workflows, let's say to use hair
brushes over cached particle simulation - but, does not allow to get imported
curves as hair guides. Maybe it's possible to find some script for that.

Hey guys
I'm still on about this shit :)
So Cycles is impressive!! And free, so setting up a farm is about
finding computers and that's it :)
Only thing is, until they have alembic in blender, its going to be painful.
I'm trying to get fur into blender at the moment. I've created an obj of
my "render time fur" and used .MDD to transfer the animation.
This works really well, but I have no idea how to convince blender that
it is fur, or anything render-able.
Anyone here know how thit might be accomplished?
Particles will be the next problem, so if you know, please tell me :)

Thanks
Gerbrand
