Yes, Rob, I think you would be better off with epoxy. CA glues are water-soluble over time (they were originally designed as a medical suture replacement). Also, while they have trememdous tensile strength, they have very poor shear strength. So, that ad where one drop holds up the piano shows tensile strength, but if you gave the joint a good sideways whack, the piano would come crashing down.
I saw an item on mylargescale.com recently where the fellow had filled up a Bachmann plastic spark arrestor with JB Weld (epoxy with metal dust filler) and run it several hours on his gas-fired live steamer. The epoxy not only held up well, but it also insulated the plastic from the heat of the stack. -vance- Computers are useless.
