True, but 20 minute login times wouldn’t be acceptable no matter how they use
it. I don’t care how old the computers are, that’s just unreasonable. The
Novell client doesn’t slow things down that much. That needs to be fixed
sooner rather than later and should have never been allowed to get that far.
My guess is that they aren’t concerned with fixing the problem because I’m
thinking Scott has already told them what was causing the problem and they
haven’t been concerned about making it go away.

Bad part is you need to evaluate for a year to see how they use it to know what
is best for the cause! I guess you could "maintain" and just fix what is
broken and not working now. Maybe thatcoukd carry them through the year.

The Tech-Geek special forces should storm the district get everything running

Yeah that would be my problem as well. I would be hands on and upset the

Delawder,

I remember back in a former life....being a supervisor in a factory. All my
floor personnel was union....and I wasn't of course. While I could go on and
on about what I know of that experience, I'll just say that I was less than
happy several times when I would go to do some labor because a person was sick.
The politics of that whole situation superimposed onto the politics already
manifested for a Director who DOESN'T have to deal with union subordinates,
screams Rolaids. Does the benefit package have some sort of comprehensive
care/life insurance for stress related illnesses, mental or physical, that is
sure to take the Director down?

I guess if that budget is all the district can do for their technology, the new
courageous soul taking on that load of a position should be allowed to enlist
the most diligent and creative grant writer that would find some tech funds for
that budget to upgrade that heaping pile of a collision domain. While I
believe that throwing money at something doesn't necessarily always fix
it....$300,000 a year for a tech budget of a school that size with the problems
it has.............- WOW! Isn't that like an early/mid 90's budget?
