Looks to me we have two objectives coverd by the posts "An alternate
turnpoint while running a task":

1. In the original post by Robert Hart the request was for an overflown
point to be recorded as a turnpoint that would mark landable area behind
when flying forward into unlandable territory. We already have a Mark
function, a simple option to record the mark as a thermal or landing field
would satisfy this requirement. An additional option could allow the
selected point to be assigned to ALT1 or ALT2. Per Ramy's post the selection
needs to be frozen and not overridden by XCSoar.

2. The second post by Horst Rupp et al asks for something quite different,
i.e. the ability to pass on position reports in relation to any waypoint in
the data base. I see two ways to accomplish this task by adapting current
features:

 (i) Tapping on a waypoint will bring up a dialog box that contains a
Details button. tapping the Details button will display position data
relative to the glider's current position (Bearing and distance).

(ii) The above is not useful if one cannot locate the waypoint on the
screen, however gesture letter L will bring up a list of waypoints.
Selecting the desired waypoint will give the same information as above.

Only other addition would be to display the reciprocal bearing to be able to
pass on one's position in relation to the position of the receiver of the
position report.

My apologies to Tobias but I can write it faster than I can draw it
