Hi Claus,
I have created a ticket (http://bugs.xcsoar.org/ticket/2730) with some figures
attached, because my explanation is not good. English is not my first
language....
The colors is not the most important, but the information in the small text.
In- and out-start are paragliding and hanggliding rules, and for us, is very
important to know if you enter or exit in the start radius in the right time.
For example, in hanggliding competitions, if you exit start radius before start
time your flight/task is not validated. You need to exit radius only after
start time. If you are out of radius in the start time, you need to entry and
exit again to start the task...
And today, the "Start open/close" infobox, when the pilot cross start
line/radius the countdown clock disappears, and the infobox has no purpose
anymore. So, if you cross the line before the start time, you don't know if you
are right.
Today, in the SIM mode the time you have to use is GMT. But It should be local
time in my opinion.
See the ticket, maybe the pictures are better then my words.
Best reagards,
Henrique Frasson

Assunto: Re: [Xcsoar-user] Start open/close infobox and task rules
I haven't tested it live due to snow and cold weather.
But in 4 weeks, a competiton will start, where I have to test it
live.
For me it works well - testing it in simu-mode.
I don't miss anything. A simple clock changing in color like a
traffic light.
Easy to understandand usefull.
But OK, I'll write a tip into the manual regarding the time - it's
lokal time, I gues ?

what is an -in- and what an -out- start???
Sugestion 2: would be interesting to choose START IN (exit) or START OUT
(entry).

Oh, my dear - I think, that will lead to confusion with all those colors, won't
it?
It only belongs to some special start procedures not known by me
-and i guess others, too-
so I wouldn't code it as standard.
Maybe coupled with the task type(AAT German, AAT GB, AAt DK, AAt US,
racing GB, Racing India ...)
to avoid all that firework of colors?? Who will remeber all that?
btw.:
WHO is creating such complicated start procedures ... ummpf ...
START OUT (entry) - Pilot need to enter the radius to start the task
