preferences

Then as root: fc-cache
or, if that doesn't work as root: fc-cache -fv
You may have to close down and start LyX again, but those fonts should
be seen in every word processor, text editor and LyX of course.

Probably not much help. But if I have ever had such an error [not for a
long time] I have changed the document name to one word, just to see if
it loads then. If it does, the rename it as desired typing it carefully
and try again.
