What if you're in the tropics? Aren't all drinks there hot?

Technically, it is not coffee but “hot drinks”. Later to be defined as coffee
and tea. No idea why really. It is in a section of our canon called “the word
of wisdom”. Written in 1833
Good advice IMHO.

With all the cola being consumed when I visited customers there in the 80's I
wondered about caffeine.. So why not coffee then?

No, that is the Seventh Day Adventists I think.

Mormons avoid alcohol, tobacco, tea and coffee.

And are supposed to avoid meat “except in the times of cold and famine” that
one goes largely ignored.

And, contrary to popular belief, caffeine is OK.

I thought Mormon were mostly vegan?

I agree, it is hard to find snacks.
Going to try some keto no bake cookies today hopefully. Shredded cocoanut and
peanut butter I think (with flavorings).
Beer is no problem as I am behaving myself these days as a Mormon boy.
Yes, would love popcorn but there are lots of flavored pork rinds now-a-days
that are very good. They give you the crunch and good flavor.
Pizza, I just eat the toppings off with a fork.

Just removing the chips / popcorn is what kills me. I can cut out the bread and
sugar. There is low carb beer, keto wraps and bread out there etc.

Just hard to give up things like pizza ... sigh

Such a pain in the butt to get started but once moving it sure cuts the damn
sugar cravings. I find the outside family members keep killing it for me, get a
few weeks then bday, or some family member comes over and has some crazy
awesome looking carb filled dinner that I can’t resist.

Another thing if you can get your DR to prescribe Ozampic, Trulicity or the
other new one, those do wonders to a1c and if worked right you can get them
without being diabetic.

Had to get back on keto hard as I had been slipping/being weak willed and my
A1C got up in the 7s again. I know how to get it back into the 5s. It is very
easy. Just will take some time. This time around I am doing almost a carnivore
version of keto. ( I don’t really like meat.)

Unexpected and nice result is that my BP is lower than when I was in my 20s.
Hope it stays that way, will really help out the next time I have to get my DOT
or airmans medical.
