My experience has been that Toyos last sufficiently longer than Kumhos that
they work out to be less expensive, despite their higher initial price.

I am no expert and I might jus be blowing wind, but here are a couple of my
thoughts:

they may tend to lower the front more for aerodynamics. A lower nose can add a
little down force and may allow a slight reduction in drag...maybe.

The other thought I had is that most modern BMW's understeer a bit. By
lowering the nose you are transfering a bit more weight to the front wheels.
This may allow for a bit more bit, and thus decrease the understeer.

I don't think any aftermarket suspension is developed to the degree that
downforce is a consideration, other than the sales rep.

Lowering the front transfers an infinitesimal amount of weight. If the
weight transfer were significant, it would increase understeer, not reduce
it.

Subject: Type 95R Battery
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Just tried to buy a replacement battery for my model year 2000 E39 M5.
Current battery is a type 95R, biggest honkin battery I've ever seen in a
car. The replacement that the autoparts store had listed was a type 93 which
is slightly smaller. In checking the interstate Battery site they don't even
list a 95R only a type 93

The battery box has lugs that fit into the bottom of the battery to hold it
in place when the top cover is on. Does the type 93 fit and is it the
replacement? I can't take it in for a fitting as the battery is dead, d'oh.
Should I keep looking? Will Curt marry Shelly? Wait wrong soap...

Any advice would be appreciated.

Optima or Orbital. Make it fit.

Hello,

Why not call up your local dealer and ask them what they use/sell. I bet
Varta makes the right battery to fit in there.

I just checked the "realoem.com" website.... It looks like the M5 uses a
110AH battery while the normal 540i uses a 90AH. SO.... you car DOES require a
huge battery!!!!! I looks like you could order this battery thru your local
BMW dealer.

Good Luck
David

I bought a 95R at my local Batteries Plus. It was $116 and they had
it in stock. The dealer will charge you close to $300 for the same
thing. I don't know if the smaller one will fit but why bother, the
correct battery should be available in your area.

The small pebble three inches to the right of the driver side
pillar, the snapping sound, the w(tf) was that thought in my brain, the
crack in the windshield from point of impact to the left edge and
growing upward vertically.
The need for a new windshield, ugh.
Where around the Bay area, peninsula/ south bay preferably, is a
good glass place to get and have installed a new windshield for an E36?
What's a good OE brand, or does PPG make good replacements? What should
the glass plus installation cost? Prefer not to deal with a bodyshop
that will add extra markup or sub the job out.

If you can wait until Tuesday when I get into the office I can send you the
name of the guys that do my windshield. I think it's $280 installed. They
come to your house.

They've done 3 of mine (race car get's replaced once a year, and it's broken
again UGH) and 2 of my employee's too. I've been happy.
