Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> I see ads for clear blinkers all the time, but never pay attention, since it is not something I care about (3 E30s, 1 E34). But a cow-orker asked today where to get clear turn signal lenses for his 2000 323Ci. What is the cheapest source out there for quality clear blinkers? I'm sure there must be one or two vendors who have good blinkers for less than the dealers would charge. And I'm sure there must be one or two vendors to be avoided? I assume this requires the purchase of an entire assembly and not just the lens itself, correct? And yes, I'll advise him to get the orange bulbs instead of his current clear bulbs. I have a couple of dents, that I am not planning on removing (pictures available on request so you can see my stupid mistake), and some scuffed off coatings. I just want to prevent any corrosion in these areas, as the cosmetics are not critical as all these areas are concealed. I am looking for something to recoat the dented areas with. It is that somewhat rubbery coating that looks like it was applied with a brush and then painted over with Alaska Blau. I believe it is either a brush-able seam sealer or maybe some form of âshutzâ that covers much of the bottom of our cars. I am also looking for some paint/coating to apply to the small areas of the fender that the paint popped off of when bent. The Alaska Blau chipped off and exposed what appears to be the galvanized coating underneath. I figure some form of self etching primer or maybe some other paint or coating. I also may want to possibly re-fog or spray the interior area of the boxed section that was dented to ensure no internal corrosion. I assume that the factory either does this or relies on the pre-coated/electrostatic coating that would coat this area. I need something that can go into the small holes in the boxed section and hopefully protect from any corrosion. I know Wurth is highly recommended, so where is a good source for their products. If any other products are better/preferred pleas let me know and any known source of supply. I do have access to a local car paint supply house that does sell brush-able seam sealer, SEM products including self etching primer etc. Also there is Eastwoods and maybe POR15, etc. Thanks to everyone who has expressed their support for my stupid mistake and thanks to all who extend me help in this regard. I am planning on getting new e30 control arms, M3 solid rubber CA bushings, and some form of strut/spring combo and possibly a camber/caster kit for the front for now. That is where the question comes in. I am leaning heavily towards the Koni SA or DA coil-over kit from T C Kline. I am looking for a modestly firmer everyday ride, with only a little drop and the ability to drop for track/summer use and back up for winter. Does anyone know what the adjustment range is in comparison to height of the stock Sport suspension? I am of the understanding that the lowest settings on the struts/shocks themselves are about as stiff as the standard Koni sport struts/shocks, can anyone confirm this? Also what kind of durability/life can I expect? As far as the camber/caster kit, I am trying to find one that is self contained and hopefully will work in conjunction with the struts to allow a bit more suspension travel. I am also still open to suggestions on some of the newer/more recently marketed coil-over kits from the likes of Bilstein, B+G, KW, ST, Vogtland, etc. Some look and sound pretty good, but wonder where they fall in range of stiffness and durability. I am looking for controlled and firm, not bouncy and stiff. Mounting points for the M3 style ant-roll bar end-links on the front struts are a plus. For the 2001 330i I used to own I got them from either Pacific BMW, Circle BMW, or Crevier BMW - in other words one of the discount online BMW parts dealers, but I do not remember which one. Mine were genuine BMW parts as used outside the USA and included the needed bulbs. True? How about the other 2 > dealers? I was going to recommend Pacific also, since I've always bought my brake parts from them at a good discount. They've gone up a bit in price over the years, but their prices have always seemed reasonable, and I've never had to mention my CCA membership. They have a website with their prices on there, too. --Andre ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 15 May 2006 14:58:06 -0700 From: Kazuto Okayasu <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [email protected] Subject: Re: <E46> Best Source for Clear Turn Signal Lenses? Going back to the original topic for a moment, I'd recommend OE clear corners, as many of the knockoffs I've seen are of dubious quality. And the OE ones ship with new bulb carriers and appropriate amber bulbs with the correct base keying. >On Mon, 15 May 2006 [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > Thanks. We replaced the t-stat and wafer pump. We used the Zerex G-05 coolant (thanks UUC Digesters). Interesting as it has almost no color. The only problem we encountered was that we could not reach the hoses under the intake and those going into the throttle body. Does the intake have to come off to get to these? The hoses on the '96 were different than those shown on the Real OEM diagram for example the hose which snakes through the radiator shroud to the overflow is not the large t-shaped one if the diagram but rather clamps to a hard line near the hydraulic reservoir. We had the front of the car in the air and it helped to reach the block plug and when it came time to "burp" the system I think the air moved to the higher point. -Kevin ---------------------------------------------------------------- This e-mail communication is confidential and is intended only for the individual(s) or entity named above and others who have been specifically authorized to receive it. After much scrutiny I ended up buying the vehicle. There are only two places where I could find what I would say is stage 2 rust. One, on the trunk lid lip on the underside, driverside, but very minimal. Two, on the drivers side door at the end of the bottom edge on the inside of the door. Both can be repaired I am confident. The only other real issues are the Bilstein sports, which are too low for me, and also too bouncy. It also has snow tires, which is not fun on hot pavement. The other is a rough idle, which can probably be attributed to either vlave adjustment, the fact that the plugs look ancient, and or the fact that it has been sitting for a month or so. One question, why is it that the Bentley only goes to the model year 1990. Is it because of the 91 318 with the later motor, and so as a result not including that motor in the manual included excluding that model year completely? If there is a difference in the 91 B25 to earlier years, then what is it? The Bentley manual should be fine for your '91 325i. To perform repairs on my '91 318ic I have to rely on both the E30 and E36 manuals (although I have yet to cough up the dough for the E36 book. I just borrow when necessary).
