I have a new to me 2003 325xi and everything thing is fine except for a
'rumble' or driveline vibration from 65 to 80 MPH under light
acceleration or steady speed. Is this a characteristic of the 4wd system.
I put the car on a lift and the only thing I could find that seemed
unusual was some slop in the output bearing from the transfer case to
the front drive shaft. It had ~3/16 to 1/4" of side to side
movement.

thanks in advance
Steve C

Our 2003 325xi has no rumble at those speeds...
But I'd start with the slop...

The car is still on ebay, this is very interesting and disturbing at the
same time.

The link works.

At least they didn't do that to a stick shift - that REALLY would have been
sad.

This is what happens when you have too much money and too little taste.

Still up at 12:45pm Central. I don't expect this to be pulled, and I'm
not sure if it will sell.

http://motors.search.ebay.com:80/250132008975_W0QQfromZR40QQfviZ1

That link is a little shorter and may survive the line split a little
better. If it doesn't just go to www.ebay.com and search for 250132008975

It was still there at 9:13EDT...

All I can say is that some people have (had?) more money than taste.
(that and PimpMobile.)

1. In its own way, better than even the mightly impressive Honda (UK)
Goldberg-device ad from a couple of years back.

2. Thank god youtube did not exist when I was in college, or I would have
never graduated.

3. Some of this is pure genius. Genius, I say!
