And I have heard stories of diesel leaking into the sump on this engine
design with internal fuel pumps to the extent the lube oil becomes
combustable, the engine starts to run independently of the injectors.
The machine is then out of control and unstoppable using the normal
controls. A substantial wodge of cloth stuffed into the air intake is
about the only way of stopping it prior to melt down. There may have
been such a "wodge" in the Lister parts catalogue !
