No, you were attributing points from a fictitious person you heard
about on some outrage show to me.  My point, had you read it, is quite
different.  It's that:

1.) If a marine in Iraq is shot at he can shoot to kill.
2.) If a known terrorist, such as Zarqawi, is caught anywhere in the
World, he's open game.
3.) GitMo detainees deserve an open hearing because that's consistent
with American values.  Something we should strive to apply to all
people and ask that they apply to us.

Translation: the current terrorist/Iraq/Al Quaeda environment is
different from peace time security and different from war.  America
needs to lead the World in developing new laws that both allow us to
protect ourselves while also treating our enemy in a manner consistent
with American values.

The best thing we can do as Americans is show the World that, despite
the fact we are fighting monsters, our values still apply.  Because if
we take your route, that American values no longer apply, then why
have them?
