That will work, but it's an expensive and I feel unecessary addition
of weight and complexity.

The 3229 tilt head tilts 90 degrees each way so it's easy without a
tripod collar to to portrait on either side. Sure you lose the ability
to put the pod leg forward, but I feel this will only be with shorter
lenses where it's not so necessary. The 3229's savings in weight,
cash, and complexity really make up for that I feel.

I mean you get a 3232, an AS clamp, and an L bracket, you're getting
light in the wallet and heavy on the monopod. Does it make sense -
maybe for some shooters.
