Holly -- in sectional warping all your sections need to fill the full 2
inches, BUT the warp doesn't have to be 24 epi on the back beam. So, take the
total number of ends and divide by the number of sections = number of ends per
section. In this case, your warp will be .2 inches wider on the back beam
than it will be going through the heddles. No problem.

In fact, for one
project, I have put on a long warp of 10/2, wove several towels, and then
resleyed later for a totally different look for warp-faced placemats on the
same warp. When I was weaving the placemats, the warp was significantly wider
on the sectional beam than it was going through the heddles/reed, and it was
fine. This is something I learned from Laura Fry (www.laurafry.com).

I also
learned from her that I can cross threads from the sectional beam to the
heddles without any problems. Heresy, I know!

Anyway, hope this answers
your sectional question.

And the
sectional warping question is....

When you have a fraction of a section left
at the end, how do you make
sure the threads don't slop all over in that
section?

With the twill threading I have in mind, the last section will be
about
1.8 inches wide, with 2-inch sections on the beam. Do I resley the
last
bit to make it a full 2 inches?
