The dimensions of my proposed project don't seem to lend themselves to
the method of spreading the actual number of ends needed in a full
multiple of sections (2").
427 ends / 24 epi = 17.8 inches. This is only 5 ends away from a full
18 inches.
So if I used your method for this particular project, I would be winding
23 ends on 5 sections, 24 on the rest. Seems a bit of a hassle, for
this particular project.
And if I add 2 ends of floating selvage, now I only have 3 ends unused.
They can easily be weighted off the back of the beam and guided over
the tension bar to keep them out of the way.
But I will keep your advice in mind for the next project :)
