I've not seen any sort of ball, nor is one referred to in the instructions--at least, I THINK I've looked through them very carefully and haven't missed anything.

I've adjusted the Dobby arm so that it lines up with the cables, and checked all the cables going to and from the dobby box and the heddle frames. Nothing is crossed or off its pulley.

I don't think any heddle frame is catching on neighbors as yet, though I wonder how it will work when the warp is being advanced regularly...OK, I won't borrow trouble :) At any rate, I don't know how the shaft could rise easily when it's supposed to, then fall right back down with a bang if it's caught on a neighbor.

I understand the theory on the springs, but there's no way to know before I get a warp on how much or what type of adjusting they will need. I suppose I can get under there and rehook all of them to the end of the chains, if that is worth while.
