This is probably redundant but on a G4 there is a preference called 'Network'. When you open 'Network' you will see your TCP/IP settings. The IP address is likely set to 192.168.1.100 or 101, 102, etc. THere should also be a similar preference on the iBook - I'm just not familiar with that machine.
The iBook should be a different address. THe addresses can be set up manually or by letting the router handle it (DHCP) dynamically. > how is the i-book and the desktop configured for network? >Ummm?
