Well while I see the point, equally good quality audio recording gear is
easier to come by all the time. heck, my own Rowland voice recorder I bought
in 2006 for about 250 usd, (part of which was funded by my educational grant
since I needed it to reccord readings of books, though I put in some
personal cash to get the model with sterrio mikes for voice work).
I'm told radio journalists have used the same model, though I'm not sure on
this one, either way, with podcasting and such being such a major thing I'm
less certain that at least for voice only stuff you need to spend thousand
on expensive reccording systems.
Beware the Grue!
dark.

Hi Bryan,
Well, that is always a factor. For a free project beggars can't be
choosers, but for commercial projects it is better to pay a
semi-professional for voice acting because good quality recording
equipment is very important for game development.
Cheers!

of course I wouldn't pass up the chance to do more. I think my lackof top
of
the line recording equipment may be a turn-off for some developers
though.
