Okay.I've been playing street fighter etc sinse street fighter 2 in 1991, but obviously that's in low vision terms.I did wonder how accessible the games would be just using sound sinse the same move, with the same sfx can go at different speeds depending whether you use the light, medium or heavy punch to activate.if people have however played streetfighter 2 going up to marval vs capcom etc, ---- great.Beware the Greu1 Dark.----- Original Message ----- From: "Clement Chou" <[email protected]>To: "Gamers Discussion list" <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, January 15, 2009 6:21 AM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] video game memoriesHi Dark.As one of the people who have played all the capcom-developed marvel fighting games, I can tell you that all of them are accessible completely. Nice thing, they announce which character you choose as well, and each character has their own unique voice and particular details. All in all, a very accessible series, as is the rest of all the fighting games made by capcom. ----- Original Message ----- From: "dark" <[email protected]>To: "Gamers Discussion list" <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, January 14, 2009 9:29 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] video game memoriesSadly it's capcom not midway who have the marvel license which they've used in all their various marvel vs capcom games.but I'm not sure how purely sound accessibble Capcom's games such as streetfighter are.Beware the Grue! No, there is no marvel version... though that's what a lot of fanboys like me have wanted, just so the rating could be boosted back up to an m. lol. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ron Schamerhorn" <[email protected]>To: "Gamers Discussion list" <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, January 14, 2009 9:04 PM Subject: [Audyssey] video game memoriesHiI'd just have to say that if graphics have gotten that incredible since I last saw them then that is nothing short of spectacular! At the time the best were [showing my age here *l*] Atari 2600 and I've seen one outstanding documentary about those days. Also the Coleco Vision [Zaxxon and the smurf game *lol*]. So the tremendous change in even say 20 years. Having said that I do recall one of the first I ever saw was Telestar, it had a few sports games but extremely simplistic. As an example the i.e. ball was a small square on the screen. I'd still like to give the MK/DCU a good try wonder what it costs to rent for a night or two? Also I thought someone said there was a Marvel version I'd be keen on that as in my younger days as a comic collector I was more of a Marvel comics fan then DC. With Wolverinebeing among my favourite characters. Though I could see some other characters putting up a good challenge as well. I remember when the first handful of games like Pong,Demon Attack, Cosmic Ark, Atlantice, etc were released all the graphicswere in black and white. Later games for the Atari like Packman, Centipede, Montezuma's Revenge, etc were all in 16 color. That sounds laughable now, but it made a huge difference in graphics technology at the time. When I am reading books on say Direct3D 10 it amazes me how the describethe different camera angles, rotating the graphics in real time, and building a completely 3D environment from hundreds of little graphics and sounds. The better your vidio card the better resolution and more realistic the 3D images look on the screen. It is no wonder people are blown away by the graphics in some of the 3D games of today. I don't have a PS3 myself, but I have heard the graphics technology on the PS3 is pretty amazing if you can see it. The newest installment of the Tomb Raider series, Underworld, for the PS3 is very realisticlooking. I've been told when Lara Croft emerges from the water her skinlooks wet and you litterally can see little droplets of water on herbody. I don't know about you, but that level of graphic detail blows meaway. Smile. Jim Kitchen wrote:Hi Thomas,I didn't know that games now had revolving video views and different hitpoints for different parts of the body etc. It has been a very long time since I could see a video game and I don't have anyone sighted around that plays them either. Sounds pretty good and realistic like you said. BFN Jim Some things have to be believed to be seen.
