Actually phil some games have used a similar system by chaining multiple
button presses or button holding together to build up speed, or by having
your character accellerate gradually.
I'm not saying doing this with the mouse is essneitally a bad thing, only
that I've seen it done in other ways with joystick on consoles and keyboard
in some pc games.
it might be interesting to try though.

Hi Dark,
The thing I like best about using the mouse to walk is that the faster you
move the mouse the faster you can walk.
Walking with the keyboard only gives you two speeds and you are stuck with
what the game developer thinks is full speed.
So in the case of MOTA you could zoom over to the torch and lever much
faster, slowing down when you get to them, then grabbing them and speeding
up again.
It may be that you could zoom past a monster without them realizing you
were in the room.
This faster moving would make torches last longer as you could zoom
through rooms that were empty much quicker.
Phil
