Hi, The gaming mice are actually quite nice. The Logitech one I purchased for testing with my games has 8 buttons, and has a special grip for extra comfort. It has force feedback, and seems to take quite a beating. I'd highly recommend getting a gaming mouse for serious game play. Especially, if the game supports a gaming mouse and all the buttons. It really frees your hands up to play smoother and more accurate than a keyboard.
