Hi there,

Well it's Thursday already! I told you it would be a short week. I gather as
well that we are in for a great weekend weather-wise! I don’t know about you
but yesterday felt like the hottest day of the year. Last night's storms were
spectacular - I have never liked thunder and lightening to be honest - so I was
quite happy to be indoors looking out over the water! I managed to get some
good photos on my camera on the mobile phone!!! I write this at 6 am in the
morning sitting in my little flat down at Victoria Dock - and I have to say
even after being here for three years, the novelty of being able to see the
water every morning has not worn off. I love living on the dock. Anyway
enough of me waffling on. Down to business.

TONIGHT AT 6 3O
===============

As well as the day's news, there's the latest on the name change campaign and
you have until midnight to vote on the second and final six names. Then next
week it will all be over as we shall have our final four names and then it’s
the Big Vote. What do you think will happen?

Remember the C4 programme that labelled Hull as the worst place to live in
Britain? I've had so many e-mails and texts about that programme - people
hated it. Well some teenagers from the city are fighting back - they've made a
short film called ''10 things to love about Hull'' . More about that on Look
North tonight.

Meanwhile regional pride is out in force it seems. Radio Lincolnshire are
launching a campaign to find a flag for the region. They have already come up
with some designs - you can see them on the internet at bbc.co.uk/lincolnshire,
in this month's Lincolnshire Life and on tonight's programme.

LL
==

I know how many people are reading the Levy Letter and I am grateful that you
have signed up …… if you have any friends who would like to get a letter every
day then direct them to one of the two links at the bottom of the letter.
Thanks a lot.

YOU THE REPORTER
=================

We had yet another story on the programme last night which came from a viewer.
If you have something which you think would make a good piece for the show then
do get in touch as soon as you can. Give me the details and we will see if we
can work on it. I am at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Of course, if it's urgent you can
ring me at the BBC.

BIRTHDAYS
=========

Did I say we can mention birthdays in the LL? I must have done judging by the
response. First one is from Susan Osman who lives (wait for it ) at Cowes on
the Isle of Wight. She watches the show from there and wants a mention for her
daughter Claire Osman and her partner Darren. Claire's birthday was on the
26th and Darren on the 25th August. Happy birthday to both. I'm always amazed
by how many people watch the programme from outside of our area on satellite
and now even sign up to the Levy Letter!

SURVEYS KEEP COMING
====================

Scientists have found that the average car has 500 colonies of germs lurking
inside!!! Slightly better news for me though - apparently cars belonging to
older drivers are the most germ-free - with car seats of drivers of more
advanced age having only a 20th of the germs found in seats of "boy racer"
vehicles. I also see that the cost of running a car has passed the £2000 a
year mark for the first time.

PHOTOGRAPHS
=============

Don’t forget to keep the pictures coming for the big screen. It's been a very
popular feature on the programme and mainly I think because of the sale of
digital cameras. I still don’t have a posh digital camera but am going to
treat myself any day now! I friend of mine here has one and it takes such
great pictures. I really must put my hand in my pocket.

Well I had better get on and do some work! Have a good day and join me at 6 3O
tonight, as usual.

Peter
