Hi there, and welcome to the start of another week on Look North and Monday’s
Levy Letter. I’m back in the studio again after Friday’s live programme from
Skegness. Tonight on the programme, we’ll be looking again at the devastating
fire that destroyed a huge entertainment complex in the town. We’ll be finding
out how holidaymakers are coping with the town in turmoil and asking how
businesses are planning on regenerating and rebuilding.

Also tonight, we’ll be reporting from court as an undercover BBC Look North
investigation results in twelve months in jail for the man, who sold illegal
medicines for animals in our region. More on that exclusive investigation
tonight on the programme.

Plus tonight, we'll be meeting one family from Immingham, who are undergoing an
anxious week this week. They are preparing their prize winning pigeon for a
major British pigeon race. We'll be finding out what it takes to get to the
top!

And this bank holiday weekend will see a major rock music festival come to
Yorkshire. We'll be meeting the local talent taking part from our region, which
includes The Talks from Hull and The Idlers from Lincoln. We’ll be meeting the
bands tonight, who are set to get their big break this weekend.

And Football Focus' Damian Johnson will be with us again to give a rundown of
all the weekend's sports results. That’s all tonight on BBC One at half past
six. I hope you can join me then.

For all things shopping and retail, then this will be of interest! Today marks
just one more month to go before the huge £200million St Stephen’s development
opens in Hull. It’s just incredible how fast the huge buildings have gone up.
Driving down Ferensway, the scene seems to change every day and certainly many
people in Hull seem very excited about this new development around the train
station. So just one month to go before this huge shopping centre opens!

I often mention in the Levy Letter stories about healthy eating and especially
in relation to the nuts and seeds I try to eat regularly! Well, it’s not just
humans, who are having to calorie count apparently. Obesity is a growing health
problem for our pampered pets! Half of the dogs and cats in the UK are now
overweight according to the RSPCA. And it’s not just a cosmetic issue,
overweight animals can have a multitude of problems ranging from straining of
the joints, arthritis, diabetes, liver and heart disease. So cats and dogs are
advised to watch their figures and owners are being told off for being too
generous with the treats!

And I just read a little article in a paper about weird insurance claims people
have made, so I thought I’d share them with you. These included a father making
a claim for his daughter’s bad haircut. And one guy claimed for the loss of a
packet of mints and a newspaper. And one final one here, holidaymakers claimed
for harassment from monkeys! Actually I think this one is quite a common one.
I’m not sure where it is, but there are a number of very exotic holiday
destinations where the local monkeys are very friendly. However, in this
insurance case, the tourists claimed one of the monkeys ran off with their
camera!

Well, that's it from me for now. If there’s any story you know about or any
problems that are affecting you or your family or friends, then get in touch.
It’s the usual email address of [EMAIL PROTECTED] for any story or any comments
about any story we do. So I look forward to hearing from you.

Take care,

Peter
