Hello there, and welcome to another edition of the Levy Letter.

I was really excited to hear that the new James Bond theme has been recorded.
I’m a big fan of the Bond films, although I was a bit hesitant when it was
revealed that Daniel Craig was the new Bond, he managed to pull it off though.
‘Another way to die’ is the theme tune for the next Bond film ‘Quantum of
Solace’. It has been recorded by R&B singer Alicia Keys and member of the White
Stripes, Jack White. Head on over to bbc.co.uk to find out more.

Now if you know anyone who is heading off to university this September spare a
thought for those who are heading to Aberystwyth University. It seems that the
university thought that intake wouldn’t be so high this year, which has meant
that some students will be temporarily staying in hotels and guest houses. At
least they won’t have to worry about sharing bathrooms and dirty kitchens!

I found it really interesting to read recently that London taxi drivers have an
inbuilt ‘sat nav’ system. Scientists have uncovered evidence by using magnetic
scanners to explore the brain activity of taxi drivers. Earlier studies showed
that taxi drivers have a larger hippocampus which is the region of the brain
which is involved with navigation. Taxi drivers’ brains get bigger as time goes
by, while they build up information to find their way around London streets.

On the sat nav note - have you visited bbc.co.uk/lincolnshire ?
Rod Whiting and I have recorded voices for sat nav systems so if you fancy a
change from your current settings, you can download ours from the website. I’d
love to hear what you think.

I thought this might give you a giggle. I heard that miniskirts may get banned
in Uganda. The minister for ethics and integrity in Uganda has said that they
should be banned as women who wear them distract drivers and cause traffic
accidents!

I hope you will join me for tonight’s Look North at the usual time of 6.30 pm.

Take care,

Peter
