Many of the atrocities of atheist regimes are in perfect harmony with their basic assumptions. The Witch burnings, and Inquisition were counter to Biblical teaching.

Gee. And it only took them two-thousand years and a secular enlightenment to figure that out. But you obviously have some pretty distorted biases going into this, with an axe like that to grind, no wonder you're so confused. "Atrocities" are committed by power and xenophobia, and this has nothing to do with "theism" or "atheism". There is no "atheist code" that is "harmonious" with atrocities. That kind of talk just pegs you as a buffoon.
