New Chicken Recipes</a>

Monday, September 5, 2005 newsletter has been posted online.

Thought for the Day
The best way to be contented is to count your blessings not your cash.

I am going to Arizona September 8-21. During this time the newsletter will not
be sent out daily. My brother, Joe is having cancer surgery and I plan to help
out where I can. The newsletter will be sent out when there is time to do so.
I would appreciate our members checking out all the recipes on this site during
this time. There are many new ones that have been posted in the past month.

SHORT STACK COOKIES
1 to 1-1/2 cups melted butter
2 cups sugar
2 large beaten eggs
1/2 cup maple syrup
4 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 cups flour
1/2 cup additional sugar to roll cookies in.

Melt the butter and mix in the sugar. Let cool. Add beaten eggs. Add
syrup, baking soda, salt and vanilla. Mix well. Add flour. Mix well.

Chill dough AT LEAST one hour (up to "overnight") before forming
cookies. Break walnut sized pieces of dough off, and roll in hands.
Coat in sugar and flatten on the cookie sheet with either a spatula
or glass. (I use parchment paper, when making these).
Bake in 350° oven for 10-12 minutes, until lightly browned.

=====
Kool-Aid Jelly
1 package Kool-Aid, any flavor (no sugar added)
1 package Sure-Jell
3 cups granulated sugar
3 cups water

Mix water, Sure-Jell and Kool-Aid together. Bring to a boil, stirring
constantly. Stir in sugar. Stir and bring to a full rolling boil that
cannot be stirred down. Boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat. Quickly skim off foam with a large metal spoon.
Pour into jelly glasses and seal.
