As was stated it is use it to compare to the gerbers,  it works so far.

no that verifys their gerber tweeks. (READ NEVER TWEEK the IPC)

My expierience is the software that the Fab houses use accepts the D-356 and
verifys the gerbers. Really D-356A is the same as D-356.
