The filter gain compensation is -post- crystal filter. Its done inside
the DSP.
If this is set well above what is really needed, the DSP may generate
some distortion on really strong signals. We usually recommend +4 dB max.

Hello,
After testing new beta 3.25 I have fond that new NR software has lost the
ability to make weak signals to stand out on low bands.
This was one of the best features the K3 had in small and bad QTH like mine,
3 BC and a Big Power Station, all of them at 1 to 2KM away, you can not

Tried it again using my XG2 as a signal source, and it's working OK.
Gremlins at work !

As you say Brett ... Interesting.
I will try it again, and look for any new Menu settings that may have crept in
unnoticed.
This was on SSB, a mode which I use almost 100% of the time.

Hi,
The other day I was tuning up on 20M (14.220Mhz thereabouts) and noticed my
SWR on the K3 was at 5.3. When I put up the antenna, it was tuned to a less
than 2.0 SWR. Accounting for wear and tear over time I thought it might have
"slipped" a little, so I re-tuned the antenna back to 2.0 SWR.
Interesting.. Mine seems to be working as it did before. I just tied
it on a few AM stations near 40. Got in the area in LSB got it setup
with the carrier in my window hit the button and poof gone.
I then found another tone that seemed to be drifting back and forth a

You know I even told myself about that parameter but then talked myself
out of thinking it was that because I was under the impression that that
feature was in play regardless of if AGC was on or off.
But you are correct that has fixed the issue. Apologize for the

There's one more parameter to check: "AF LIM"
If you set this to small numbers (say 1 to 5) you will get almost no audio
with AGC OFF.
Hope it's as simple as that ?

Strange operation here... AGC-S seems to work as it should and AGC-F as
expected but if I turn AGC off my rig does silent. I'm still able to
see the S-meter swinging to the signal that I was listening to.
Current settings are as follows:
AGC Decay = Soft
AGC Hold = 0.00
AGC Pulse = Normal
