Installing RSSO 9.1 - with DB existing user - “ORA-01950: no privileges on tablespace 'USERS'”

2017-11-08 Thread ddussie
Hello,

We don't have governance over creating users; this has to be done by
security via the policies.

that being said, we have creates a rsso_user on the ARS ORacle DB with the
ability using the following instructions,

You need to create the RSSO_USER as:

CREATE USER RSSO_USER IDENTIFIED BY
GRANT CONNECT, RESOURCE TO RSSO_USER IDENTIFIED BY

Then run the installer, in case you want to create the rsso schema first:

CREATE USER RSSO_USER IDENTIFIED BY
GRANT CONNECT, RESOURCE TO RSSO_USER IDENTIFIED BY
CREATE SCHEMA AUTHORIZATION rsso

After running the the installer; we are now getting the follow error

“ORA-01950: no privileges on tablespace 'USERS'”

what exactly is the rsso_user doing against the USERS table?
if is is creating users on the oracle db; in our environment; these users
will become orphan and removed.
I need to understand exactly what is being done inorder to get an exception.

Hopefully, This will help.

we are not a windows environment but a mismatch of linux and unix. However
we are custom incident systems not ITSM, and the user tool functions.

for desktop, we are migrating to windows 10 from win 7 - and the user tool
installs and runs in compatibility mode. We have users that won't get off
it. (But they know if there is an issue, they must use the web).

I have installed ARS 7.5P4 Production which will be upgraded to 8.1.02 them
to 9.x. Client against 9 has not been tested.

websphere 8.5.5.11 - anyone for MT 9 to work in cluster?

2017-06-14 Thread ddussie
Hi,

websphere 8.5.5.11 - anyone for MT 9 to work in cluster?

We are having a login issue.. trying multiple times before it successfully
logins in.

We had worked with IBM and BMC about a year ago to websphere 8.x and
WebSphere at this time was 8.5.5.1 . IBM had suggested to upgrade to
8.5.5.6 and set a setting available in the version .. because at the jvm
level the request was not being return on the same path.

Server 1 and 2 are websphere clustered
No load balancers between MT and ARS
We only have a single ARS with DB local
JVM 1 on Server 1 ---> ARS
JVM 2 on Server 1 ---> ARS
JVM 3 on Server 2 ---> ARS
JVM 4 on Server 2 ---> ARS

So I think what is it doing is this….
On multiple login to one of the JVM, it will fail multiple time before it
finally logins it.
I try to connect to JVM 1 – the browser sends request to Mt(jvm), it
responses to (JVM 2, JVM 3, JVM 4) before it finally finds JVM 1 and
successfully logins.
it could hit a number of the wrong jvms till it hit the right one.

we have no internal support for Apache tomcat ..we have team for websphere.
trying to make this work ... till it can't ; then resort to supporting
apache.

Re: Unable to login into Mid-Tier config page

2016-03-10 Thread ddussie
I'm having a simliar issue.

MT Version 8.1.SP02 Patch 001 201510061543 Hotfix
Websphere 8.5.5.3
Clustered Environment
BIGIP <-> (2 HTTP Servers) <-> (2 JVM Servers Clustered)  <-> ARS 7.5P4

We are working through a case with BMC aslo.
- We followed some on the KB listed here.

Further Troubleshooting earlied today
If we shutdown one of the JVM (Anyone), the we can log into the config page
and application just fine.
BIGIP <-> (2 HTTP Servers) <-> (1 JVM Servers Clustered)  <-> ARS 7.5P4

Further investigation,
the websphere has cookie = jsessionid.
but the plugin-cfg.xml in the websphere has SessionAffinity = jsessionid1
This is only discrepancy we found in the websphere compared to a test
environment that is working fine.
Also, the file (plugin-cfg.xml) we regenerated, and it still had
jsessionid1.

So hopefully, someone here can help with MT on Websphere,
if the cookie = jsessionid, should SessionAffinity = jsessionid in the
plugin-cfg.xml or being jsessionid1 is fine?

Re: AR System Database Replication

2015-04-16 Thread ddussie
We are on Oracle 11g, looking to go to 12g on AIX.

We do dataguard replication (shipping logs frequently to remote site)
- I vaguely remember to DBA, saying either 11g or dataguard has feature that
allows the Db to remain in standby read-only mode; so based on how often you
replicate (shipping logs and appying logs), you could report from the
standby/Dr DB.

On AIX -- database replication, is SRDF (Symmetrix Remote Data Facility)
which is done on storage, more costly base on the size of storage needed;
the lag between the srdf ans dataguard was sec; but we didnot go this route
because out overall DR failover process didnot gain in terms of outage and
time.
What SRDF - doesnot give you ability to run reports (readonly) from a
standby.

On AIX -- Replication is DR HA SRDF, DR High Availability Symmetrix Remote
Data Facility; but this is costly. I think more of reduce outage to invoke
DR for companies need the application always up; in event of unplanned DR.
but again, doesnot give you ability to run reports (readonly) from a
standby.

We have other applications that run DB2. ( however, for reporting of standby
not sure )
- On Linux in VM Farm -- HADR - "DB2 high availability disaster recovery
(HADR) feature provides a high availability solution for both partial and
complete site failures. "
- On Linux in VM Farm -- Storage level replication - Recovery Point (we
are currently testing)

Best of luck,
Hopefully -- this helps in your research.

How we are doing SSO (high level understanding - inherited env)?
In our sap portal, MYSSOSAP2 cookie is passed to SSO class files in deploy
MT earfile which talks to ARS via AREASSO plugin on the servers, that
autheniticate user and send information back to the browser to sign user on.

During the depolyment on 8.1 on WAS8.5, we ran into issues that resulted in
the JSESSIONID being config to JSESSIONID1.

We think the portal is send MYSSOSAP cookie with jsessionid, but the WAS is
returning jsessionid1, can the connection between the Myssosap !=
jsessionid1.

We will be testing changing the jsessionid to jsessionid1 in portal, but
that can't be the solution as that change breaks other stuff. (( not sure if
this will resolve the issue))

We have tried change the jessionid1 to jsessionid in the WAS configuration
but that revert to login redirect issue, which was later state by BMC said
--How websphere works, it will create a JSESSIONID cookie and because
Mid-Tier use the same JSESSIONID Authentication logic it generates conflicts
with the cookie. The solution is to rename through websphere to JSESSIONID1
or 2 or anything else.

Great suggestion

I will add to the list of would like to do in 2015. ( actually I will put to
the top), as this will help consolidate many such workflow and add better
tracking as the logs over write quickly.

On the system side nothing has changed, to the point of LongWing, yes I
normally encounter when we upgrade, but we have been on the version for 2
years. Only recent change, that may affect this was daylight savings and all
these holidays that workflow has to account for.

As it is, the only solution is to rewrite as issues arises.

But thank you all for the suggestions, we are using ServerTime, and will map
out Brians suggestion; and old Business time, well this was converted by a
contractor is 2007, i think. i'll just have to go thru and validates all was
converted to BusTime2.

Re: Filters actions are firing wierd or correctly ..

2014-12-03 Thread ddussie
That is correct.

This business time is adding 1 minute (so technically timestamp could have
been used), this time is being used by the escalation that runs every 4
mins, that then sets that time field to null. I will change to Business
time2 or timestamp.

Agree also, this loop was not being closed; which i have rewritten and is
now closed.

But why all of a sudden this is working as written (looping) which is
incorrect but working.

This is happen sporadically with other filters in the environment, so a
things go berserk, I rewrite.

Filters actions are firing wierd or correctly ..

2014-12-03 Thread ddussie
Hello List,

This is our scenario, we have had remedy since 1.x... but since since
conversion at 6.3x mark we have steadily upgraded - as we are a custom shop
no modules. That being said, since the day light saving time change,
filters and escalation have been acting weird; from all investigation it is
not a result of timing issue; but possible a coincidence with Time change.
This is what we are experiencing,

A change request in the custom change system, on creation of the ticket will
notify a group if this filter is met.

on Execution Submit & Modify
qualification = Status != Closed and Field set to pending approval
Then
Setfield to Time1 = $PROCESS$ Application-Bus-Time-Add "$TIMESTAMP$" "1" "2"
"holiday" "Change" Setfield Notify=No
Runprocess to call telalert to email.

Then an escalation
On 4 min interval
Qualification: Time1 != $NULL$ and Notify=No and TimeStamp> Time1
Then Setfield to Time1 = NULL
Setfield Notify= yes
Runprocess to call telalert to text/page.

Since yesterday, 3pm this workflow started looping.

So as the filter fires, the escalation fires, looping on Execution action
modify.

This sent 300 emails and 300 pages to group.

Its wierd as the filter execution on submit and modify has been working for
atleast 7 years i have been managing this tool.

I'm not sure which version of remedy 6.3x to 7.5x that built that workflow.
I have rebuilt in 7.5p4 version; however that didnot resolve.

Can anyone assist with an explanation?

We are behind in upgrading.

Re: Exporting query into csv excell worksheet

2014-05-08 Thread ddussie
Hi,

We have a similar macro running on server. We don't need to append to
existing file but create a new file will date; but you can use the concept.

Insert the macro into a wrapper. A filter run process executes a script on
the server, that script executes the run macro, once the report is exported,
its is renamed to with date. This report runs once a day.

we are on unix, so scripting is down&dirty.

In your case, Once the report is export, append it the original, and delete.

(prod issue) rpc socket delete from ar.conf

2012-07-09 Thread Ddussie
Hi list,

While on vacation, remedy hung.

Of the sequence of events
1. Many out of state connection
2. Application restarted
3. Server Statistic was disable
4. Application restarted
Not sure where in timeline this occurred,

Rpc socket configuration was deleted from ar.conf.

We have an issue open with bmc, pending response. However, Can anyone tell me
what could have caused this?

2012-04-09 Thread Ddussie
Valid question, not stupid.

Yes I am connecting the correct server. These are production server, so no
production changes to configuration.

However, recently added field specific to certain users. I'm running into these
error for the user who should have write / read access to the fields the issue
occur on. We don't use itsm, as we have been customized since 90's.

User --> browser/IE/Firefox--> loadbalancer --> 2 http server ---> 2 webshpere
app/MT/7.5p4 --> 1 arserver 7.5p4

When I login to http server directly same error.

Sincerely,
D.Dussie

Re: Client getting RPC Error (90) When Logging into DR Server

2012-03-08 Thread Ddussie
I learnt recently is even if Upd 111 (sunrpc) or tcp 111 portmapper are open
in firewall, Since the firewall does not snoop on the communication over 111 ,
like it does for FTP, the client cannot connect over the tcp port portmapper
instructed to because the firewall does not know that port. This might be
specific to our firewall env.

On client machine, go to local firewall log, and see what communication is
being blocked?

Good luck

Help: question on registering with portmapper

2012-01-31 Thread Ddussie
Hello,

Scenario: we are moving to new server behind f/w and add components we don't
have in current prod. So, we are installing arserver and all component (fb, ws,
etc) on a new server behind firewall. While keeping current prod env up. Once
the new environment is successfully, the we shutdown current prod bring in new
prod.

Current prod: is registered with portmapper.

During the installation, it indicates only one arsystem can be registered with
portmapper on your system.

So, can I not register with, assign a tcp port, get new prod up and running
then reconfigure to be registered with portmapper?

What will happen if 2 arserver register with port mapper?

Unix:6.1
Ars:7.5p4

D

Re: Server name clarification

Thad,
I'm learning too. For your dr, are you doing dso or data replication to sync up
data between prod to dr?

For dso, I'm not sure the configuration.
For data replication, configuration exactly like production on dr environment.
So, our dr stay is a dormant state, until invoke. When invoked, we do a dns
change pointing dr server to an alias, and start app. So instead of server
name, server host name, try an alias.

Thank Misi,

Found the code after I posted. That has led to scripting runmacro to grab each
request and attachment and appending with entryid.

2011-10-21 Thread Ddussie
Thank you for response.

Downgrade java 1.6 to 1.5.

The java is the issue, maybe. Reinstall with java 1.5 32 bit, dev studio
doesnot give the below error but the Help page errors , otherwise I can open we
service group.

Http 500
Unable to compile ISP
Requesturi=/help/index.jsp

On dev studio. 7.6, no issue - but 7.6 require mode change to modify a lower
ars 7.5.04 best practice to base dev.

I ran into this. It was specific to single user logging in to MT. find web user
preference delete profile, then recreate form another user.

This happen on the test env, after mirrored production. The user preferences
for web carried prod server.

Thank Misi,

the url in filter .. so open port 8080 is correct.

There are 2 firewalls. We opened port 8080 not 80. The firewall team. so no
hits against the firewall between the ARServer to the Application Server the
WDSL is attempting to send data to.

This server is port mapped: 59200. I just realized that only one firewall
has the port open, currently requesting the other. However, do you think
this issue lies here?

Hello,

What is the difference between

Server-Plugin-Alias: ARSYS.ARF.WEBSERVICE ARSYS.ARF.WEBSERVICE
serverName:portNumber
Server-Plugin-Alias: ARSYS.ARF.REGISTRY ARSYS.ARF.REGISTRY

Hello,

If i remember correct (and list please correct, if wrong), Since your
configuration is
Remedy 6.3
Windows Server 2003
Oracle 10g
- you need a 9i client to connect to 10g for 6.3 ARS.
- with the ar.conf, your database client/home needs to point to
9i

Installation the 9i client,
- test connecting to the 10g db with the client only
- then modified to ar.conf
- try starting up the arsystem

Good question Louise,

I would like to know is runmacro.exe has EOD with client. We are moving to
ominbus remedy gateway, but we have other process built around the runmacro.

I know it works with 7.5 Patch 4 arsystem. But our next upgrade to 7.6 will
be end of year or begin of 2012.

Moving test arsystem instance to new server

2011-05-12 Thread DDussie
Good Morning,

I'm moving the arsystem test to new hardware. However, the test and DR are
currently on the same box.
OS: AIX 6.1
DB: 10g
ARS: 7.4 Patch 4

Can I tar up the filesystem and lay it down on the new hardware? or do I
have to do new install?

Thanks Deyon.

Saji,

We use TEC (Tivoli Enterprice Console)- Migrating to Netcool/Ominbus as the
correlation application for all events whether node_down(server), monitoring
process/filesystem on server, databases, 4D-jobs, monitoring the network,
etc. TEC is integrated with a extensive script (in-house), which populate
runmacro - and generate tickets. Omnibus has a remedy gateway, that tickets
are managed from within the tool/gui, you can send to Remedy automatically

Re: Using Active link to bring data from another form.

2011-04-15 Thread Ddussie
Mike, Thanks you so much responding.

I figured it out.

Active link 1, which is formating, sets the tempfield (char) to $DATE$
Active Link 2, set the qualification to 'Fields1.form' LIKE $tempfield$

Don't format with " or %, because its is passing the character to the sql. Then
sql is excuting a instr count > 0 if it finds the match.

So it looks like correct (dbms_lob.instr(T9.C600, '4/15/2011') > 0) ORDER BY 1
ASC vs the incorrect (dbms_lob.instr(T9.C600, '"%4/15/2011%"') > 0) ORDER BY 1
ASC

I have tried so many variation of the setup must have missed one. Definitely,
forgot about using sql logs to see what was being passed is sql; won't forget
know.

Lets hope not a fluke and fail later today. so far so.

Sincerely,
D.Dussie

Re: Using Active link to bring data from another form.

2011-04-15 Thread Ddussie
Thanks for Responding,

I'm sorry I should elaborate; before the below formats are passed into the
active link (main). There is a format active link, that I am passing the $DATE$
to charactertempfield in this manner.

tempfield = $tempfield$,  which sets thetempfield = 4/14/2011
tempfield = “%” + $tempfield$ +”%”,  which sets the tempfield = %4/14/2011%
tempfield = """"+ “%” + $tempfield$ +”%” + """"", which sets the tempfield
="%4/14/2011%"

However the workflow fails when the variable "tempfield" is passed to the
qualification with the LIKE command below.

1. pass the $DATE$ variable to tempfield, so tempfield = 4/14/2011, this did
not work.
--- Qualification: (Fields1.form2 LIKE "%$tempfield$%")

2. pass the $DATE$ variable to tempfield with % , so tempfield = %4/14/2011%,
this did not work.
--- Qualification: (Fields1.form2 LIKE "$tempfield$")

3. pass the $DATE$ variable to tempfield with % and " , so tempfield =
"%4/14/2011%", this did not work.
--- Qualification: (Fields1.form2 LIKE$tempfield$)

Yes, there is data /records that match. We need that qualification to match, in
order the pass data form form 2 to form 1, that in-turn fire other workflow
down stream; this is the key workflow.

Sincerely,
D.Dussie

Thank you for responding,

Sorry its actually a character field not diary.

I did as you suggested,
1. pass the $DATE$ variable to tempfield, so tempfield = 4/14/2011, this did
not work.
--- Qualification: (Fields1.form2 LIKE "%$tempfield$%")

2. pass the $DATE$ variable to tempfield with % , so tempfield = %4/14/2011%,
this did not work.

3. pass the $DATE$ variable to tempfield with % and " , so tempfield =
"%4/14/2011%", this did not work.

Its seems that the Like command does not like a variable, what you think?

We run oracle 10g on unix 6.1 we went from 6.3p20 to 7.5p4 of arserver only no
itsm
- fb you will need to recreate
- manually input form
- user form installer error on form view, removed it - installer ran
- ensure the installer lays down files foremail engine.
- you might need to check key workflow

Overall, those where addressed at installation..

Run if qualification failing

2011-04-07 Thread Ddussie
Has anyone experienced an issue with developer studio 7.5p6 or filter
transaction involving a runif qualification not calculating?

Tried:
Runif: 'DB.Field1'!= 'TR.Field1'
Setfield: Field2 = db value is not equal to transaction value
Esle: Field2 = db value is equal to transaction value

Field1 database value = test
Field1 transaction value = test1

Tried:
Runif: 'DB.Field1'!= 'Field1'
Setfield: Field2 = db value is not equal to transaction value
Esle: Field2 = db value is equal to transaction value

This worked in 6.3p20, and existing workflow from 6.3 is working in the versions

Does anyone manage arsystem incident via mobile/cellphones on a basic? Or what
would you recommend a solution to accomplish this is?

Basic,
1. As in put a request in progress
2. Reading description/scope of work, if need reassign to appropriate group
3. Future - closure of incident.

2011-03-07 Thread Ddussie
Thank you Joe & Dave,

I have not written API, can you point me in the right direction? What API calls
to use?

This is our process, service management form (incident form) is migrated to
data warehouse due to volume of request/incidents. Due to audits/regulations -
the need has involve the attachments for certain types of requests.

The dataware house reporting is done via crystal & cognos. Based on this new
requirement, how can I integrate this API?

Thank you so much. I had the time to try your suggestion below, it worked.
Exporting filter to XML, change label to dbid: reimport.

I have a request with bmc, i will send the your suggestion, pointing in some
direction. Unfortunately, this could be happening else where in environment.

It looks like the system is not recognizing your field name in the
 filter.
 In
your filter's Run Process action try putting the field ID and saving
 the
 filter.
This will let the system pull the field name.

Re: Upgrade planned - to ARS 7.5 & Windows 7

2010-08-31 Thread Ddussie
Shawn,

We just upgraded from 6.3 patch 20 to 7.5 patch 4; however on aix and 10g.

Hopefully this helps

Issues: Installer failed
1. on box 4& 5 in web view of group form; either delete view/ fields.
2. Flashboards - completely changes - since we have not customized, deleting
the fb:alarm, datasource variable, flasboard, variables, variable attribute
forms. You will need to recreate flashboards.
3. Report forms changes
4. Manual import of serveradmin.def, group.def, flashboard.def, arealdap.def,
ardcldap.def
5. Since the directories change on how the app is install, manually modify
ar.conf to new paths.
5. On dr, copied filesystem - ran into issues the start of app would be stuck
on a library file libclntsh.a - bmc working on fix.
6. User central form, this they are fixing holes in db, so if the unique fields
have duplicate - you will need to fix the data.. Before the installer will
proceed.

That's it .. Hope it helps. Suggestion copy your prod to test, and run
installer.

Re: Monitoring Process like Arserver , Apache , Tomcat using Remedy

2010-07-20 Thread Ddussie
You need an external product or script local to server. Application cannot
monitor it self as LJ eluded to.

We use ITM (IBM tivoli monitoring).

Re: ARS 6.3/Oracle 9 -to- ARS 7.5/Oracle 11g

2010-07-17 Thread Ddussie
Agree, but verify your OS.

Ex. We went
 Aix 5.3l7 ars6.3 9i db
Aix 5.3l7 ars6.3 9i client with 10db
Aix 5.3l7 ars7.5 10g
Aix 6.1 ars7.5 10g
Aix 6.1 ars 7.5 11g
Bc the 11g min os 5.3l9..

Re: Statement of Direction regarding EOL of Remedy User client has been amended.

2010-07-14 Thread Ddussie
David,

Not sure if this relates. But the actual runmacro command will this go away
with tool?

Currently, we have an automation that depends on this command to create trouble
ticket. If this retires, I will need to write the process with it's replacement
or re-engineer.

Sincerely,
D.Dussie
