Hi all.We have some bad news I'm afraid. We have received communication from Facebook about Messenger that states the following:"Our team is currently not supporting accessibility for Messenger Platform. They have put supporting accessibility on the roadmap for the long-term but in the short term there won't be a fix for this."This came to a surprise to us, as originally they had said they would be focusing on accessibility. This means that the mobile version of Facebook Messenger wouldn't be guaranteed to be accessible for some time, so the web version is the more viable solution. We wish this was better news and will continue to try and push them on this issue. We will also explore other platforms for the future.On a more brighter note, we thank you all here who continue to play and pushing us over the 700 active player mark. Its been a great journey so far.

Getting started in python game development

Hello all,I think I will be asking a lot of questions related to this topic in future so I'm making a central topic for all my questions rather than posting a new topic each time. SO after making games in BGT and grasping programming concepts, I'm wanting to switch from BGT to python. I did some researches on google and found python game libraries along with accessible_output2. All is working well till now, I got the window up and running on the screen and I have a menu with speech. The only concern is sound. The game I'm making feels laggy and I suspect it's due to pygame's sound capabilities not beeing so good. Therefore, I'm wanting to rewrite my sound module in sound_lib or libaudioverse but I'm not able to understand how to get started in it. Could anyone help me regarding this matter? just a small example in both of these libraries maybe? Regards,Amit

Hi all.I don't have much experience with this game yet, but it looks really great and addicting.Land of Livia is a mixed RPG and exploration game. You travel from city to city, listening for rumors, looking for quest items, solving quests and do battles.The game is a very relaxed themed game, where you have to wait in realtime when traveling, doing quests and other activities in the game.I have only looked at the game briefly for around 15 minutes, so I haven't tried the battles yet. You can fully customize your character with equipments, stats etc. I'm currently not sure on where or how the online part of the game comes in.Chapters are app purchases, but I currently don't know when you have to purchase, or if you have to purchase to keep playing. Yeah it's not that hard to complete, you just need someone to take you to the squares in the board game. I completed it with the help of my 7 year old brother, and judging by what I sau on youtube, I didn't miss anything. The only char you unlock from story is 21, ss blue vegeta and goku are on the arcade if you didn't order the game that is. BTW, if you get goku and vegeta to lvl 40 in story mode you'll be able to play as them in that mode, also fight intro seens and character interactions differ depending on what chars you have on a team and who they are going up against. I tryed changing my chars often to get most of the seens unlocked. Link events are really hard to unlock though, as you get them every ten levels. Those are seens where you get to talk to your character.

Hi.You have seriously deserved to get payed for all you are doing. The question is: When is something worth paying for? You could make purchaseable DLCs, so people could play without paying. But if they want the extra features, they have to pay. It would be a shame to release the translation as freeware, when having put that much work into the project... Just my thoughts on this...

To me, their new guideline is a bit difficult to follow. Because if you just starting out, getting to 10K overall channel views, 1K for the subscribers, and 4K overall watching time per year is impossible.

That's the old model of the youtube partner thing, where you could just be verified as a channel, sign up for adsense, and be good to go.  I have that right now, but on February 20th it's going to change to the guidelines of 1 overall channel  views, 1000 subscribers, and 4000 overall watch time for the year.  Like I have it but it's so useless at the same time with how low my sub count is - I've monetized every video for the past year, and only have 1.00 UST in it.  Can only get the payout when adsense hits 100, so you're really only going to make money with a big subscriber count.

Reaper is the best for editing midi and you can download software synths to use in it.  Keep in mind it doesn't have any built in VSTs and you'll have to get them, but if you already have a midi contorller it's really easy to pick up and use.

Hm I have friends I can do this with and actually have an enjoyable gaming experience by doing so over skype.  Sounds like a rip off service if you ask me, it's really easy to get friends and family to do this for you for free and you enjoy the game time a lot more that way.  Too many services that do that already as well.

OK, this is strange. I ran the check up program and clicked register missing files. It closes out without any sort of dialogue, and DXKEY.dll didn't register. I tried going in and registering it manually by running CMD in admin and going to the path the file was in, and it gave me an error saying the file didn't exist, even though I checked and it's definitely there. What do I do now?

Hi.It has been a while since I last spoke about my development related news. You may already know that I'm not spending as much time as before for audiogame development due to my job and university, but I just randomly thought and decided to update something which may interest you but may also draw some controversy here.For those who don't want to read through my ranting, I'll write the main topic first. I'm seriously considering making Bokurano Daibouken V2 X less expanded than planned and completely free. Of course I'd happy to know what you think. Now, a long post below.I had stated that I would release BK3 V2 X after completing the translation project. Now it's completed as promised, but V2 X has not come yet. First I want to clarify why it is happening.When I started working on the translation, I expected I would be university when it was completed and I would be spending lots of time developing games, so I planned the V2 X expansion. However, now I have multiple jobs and non-audiogame-related projects, plus I have to do them in parallel with university. Thus, I'm unable to focus on one project which is required to develop something worth for everyone to pay. I cannot work with my full capacity to develop games, but I do not want to leave this world. I had to come up with something would satisfy me and players. Then I got the idea of making the game free instead of less expansion.The basic idea is like this. Actually I have already implemented some core systems planned in V2 X E.G. the alternate stage 19, leveling up cats, gamepad support and custom enemy behaviors. First I will unlock them. Then, do whatever I want, same as before. I still do not know the translation pack should be a donation-and-reward style for V2 or not.I think making the game free has following pros:- Of course you do not have to pay to play- I can do freely without feeling any pressure that it must be worth to pay- People who cannot pay for regional or finantial reasons can play, even if the written translation might not be available- I do not have to wait until all planned features are implemented because all are free updates- Honestly, more feasibleI'm open for revealing any information about the game if available, and also open for any feedbacks or discussion topics. I just wanted to make sure that my previous statement wouldn't be a empty promise.

Hm, what OS and/or anti-virus are you using? It may encounter some issues running on more modern systems, you could try disabling display scaling on high DPI settings or running it in compatibility mode for win xp.

¿Guys, a small question. How to finish the quest named "Tools of the trade?"I found a lot of goblin equipment at the mines (and I finish the major things on that area) but after get that (and the quest text changed to the armorer wants trade these things) If i go to the armorer, well, On their options doesn't appear anything related to tell to him about these equipment or something similar. And if you simply sell to him these goblin things respecting to the quest didn't occur anything.Is a bug? or you require a specific equipment to finish that quest.Thanks. Bye!

Hello @soundmud, interesting your investigation at starcraft vision thing. With that, you know that you're on the right way respecting to the vision on soundrts engine Well, some questions that I can't do a issue on github, because... aren't a issue:Currently the bonnus_height flag is a int value? or a simple bool value. make a difference if I put bonus_height 2? It give to that object a vision of 2 scare radius?Other thing. in mod html manual, says about the shortcut setting, that you can put in rules.txt for upgrades / skills. But... If i'm not wrong, that parameter goes on style file. So what is the final location for that setting? for all objects?And well, if you can add this as a issue. Create areas completeli unaccessible. So like very high mountains that the flying units can't fly through  them.Or for a far future, custom terrain types so you can define if a unit can walk or not over a certain type of terrain, buildings that can be builded or not over that terrain (bio creep like) etcAnd well. This engine goes better and better. You gean do a really great job with this engine. For now, is the definitely RTF engine for blind gamers. And do something better is really hard.¡thanks for all!

Hi!I have also one idea to create some game, but maybe It is inpossible.Some files are put on one directory and those files (as music) can be played to customers to make him silent. Omg I ... I love your idea for the city sim, Nick.I think there also needs to be a happyness factor based on ... well a lot of variables, as well as crime rate for different types of crimes. But these could be tied to districts of residential areas. For example, the suburban outskirts isn't going to have nearly as much crime as a densly populated industrial apartment buildings housing poor and uneducated people.

active X or ocx errors have to do with the fact you're missing some dependencies for VB6. The easiest way to solve this is to grab one of Aprone's games, and once installed, run that checkup.exe file and it will register all the needed DLL's.

Hi...So, I'm sure your all used to seeing that OCX error. I tried to install WMAAudioRedist, but when I launch the program, it doesn't even pop up a dialogue, it does absolutely nothing. I even tried running it in admin mode. Does it not work in Windows 10, or am I doing something wrong?

The newer version of uTorrent installs something called web companion, but I've never noticed anything with 3.1. I must have missed 3.2. I tried the latest version 3.5  earlier to see if it had improved its accessibility, but it hadn't.  The installer isn't as accessible as it used to be, though it's still doable, but the problem of it not announcing file names just sizes as you arrow down the list is still there for both jaws and NVDA. God knows what they did. It's probably fixable as you can access the names with the jaws cursor and screen review, but why bother when 3.1 is still doing everything necessary without installing extra crap and displaying some sort of ads that are meaningless to blind people and just make tabbing around more difficult. And Web Companion had a pretty inaccessible uninstall too.

That depends on how many secrets you unlock . The simplest answer is "16, each with 1-3 parts". There are bonus levels and secret rooms and such, and I'd like to add a lot of post-game bonuses in the way that Bokurano Daibouken does, but I haven't had much success thinking of many.

I'm not using a vm at the moment so I can't confirm, but I think pressing control+g while the vmware window is active will allow you  to use the VM. To switch back to controling the host, you need to press control+Alt. HTH

Hi,You can use the d-pad, you still have to do quarter circle style motions, but if you've been able to use the pad for games like Skullgirls, Killer Instinct, Street Fighter or MVC, you'll be fine with this. It's different from mk where you tap down and then lef, you do still have to do more of a motion. It's a bit hard to explain.

I like the ideas. a few more ideas for you, the ability to link multiple cities that you've created, and share resources, and the like between, this could also be interesting in online mode. In online, if driving gets put in, one way you could do things is to have all the cities on a big map, where you can just drive around, and look at other places, as well as walk into certain buildings, to negotiate stuff like trade between cities, and the like. Also, I think it would be cook to be able to see the  people navigating around in the city, and have random things happen in real time. For instance, a car accident would happen, you could see it get resolved in real time. Also, I think it would be cool to see something where  you could actually buy the stuff you need to make your city run, like better construction equipment, that could make building faster, faster buses, and the like, that would make people faster, you know what I mean.

hi everyone, I don't know if you guys know about this. But on this forum at least, project terran completely slipped under the radar. Its apparently a scifi browser game developed by the same people, coops and prev, who are working on ce. It went into open beta in 2015. While the news posts on the front page seam to be outdated, from the ce style news ticker at least I can see game activity. I haven't checked the forums, so didn't see if things are actually still happening, but I decided to throw it out there just the same. Playing styles seam to be similar to what you do in ce, only that skills and crafting are even more important in pt than they are in ce. According to the info about the game, its economy and supply of items is supposed to rely 99.9% on other players, with only the starter items being purchasable. Everything else must be crafted, and there's about a billion (please don't take literally) skills in the skill tree you can learn. Learning skills doesn't cost anything like it does in ce, but when you first create a toon you only have a small number of skills unlocked and it takes time to learn them. I really wonder how and where to trigger the quest then. :-)Considering how challenging mental map building is for me, I would have thought this would be considered enough wandering off the beaten path. You do need to implement a serious major new feature in 1.3 or whatever the next version is going to be - a way for the game to recognize the magnitude of my effort and thus to automatically add a new beacon to the map for me, called Go here to trigger the Haunted by the Past quest, how gracious of me. :-D :-DLukas

I know the stress you whent through as i face it oh so  to often, hence i follow the backup root. but lets see what we can do to help you here.a note of warning.  some seagate external drives, can be opened and the sata board can be removed. but with W D drives, often the board is sealed to the drive. or, in crippted to mate only with the board. thus, attempting to use it in any other in closure, will result in garbled data. things you can now try. one. please, power down the drive. 2. connect the drive to a power bank and record the sounds for me. 3. we'll take it from there. 4. i am always curious to try and repair such issues. 5. if you do not wish to record this. move to step6.6. download data life guard diagnostic tool for WD drives. its very accessible and will diagnose /repair bad sectors. if not sure ware to get it, let me know and I'll pop ya a link.7.  if you found it, let me know the outcome. after it had fixed your drive, warning, make sure you have patience since this may take a while to complete.do not use the drive while data life guards busy with it. your data is already at risk, so reparing what you can, is fine at this point. since data damage has already happened.8. please place your pc in hi performance mode under power settings. and plug it in to charger when working with the drive. if pc is laptop.9. if its a desktop. plug drive in the back of pc u s b port. to insure maximum stable power.10. if all the above fails. please get back to me ware and witch step failed.I'd be happy to help.

If we're talking throne room events, one thing I'd find cool are some cases with not necessarily a right or wrong answer but with different consequences. For example, The servant of a merchant who is convicted of stealing, but the servant claims the merchant hasn't been paying them. If you side with the servant, your reputation and peasant levies increase, while if you side with the merchant, your given more gold by the merchant's guild as a thank you, where as if you send them both to the arena to fight out their differences, your reputation increases and you get some more cash for the fight (people love a spectacle).Another case might be a daughter forced into an arranged marriage with an old rich noble by her parents who comes to you for help.If you command her to marry the old noble, you gain one extra knight since the noble joins your cause as a just ruler, however you lose a bit of reputation among the peasants who think it's an unromantic outcome. If you  say she can marry whoever she wants, the parents refuse her a dowery and she marries a poor farmer, which means your reputation increases, and you gain one extra peasant in your army, but you lose some gold since you have to then pay her dowery yourself. Or you have two land owners arguing about the ownership of a  peace of land on their estate, one an old noble family who has owned the land for generations and claims it as their birthright, the other a new merchant family who have just purchiced the land. If you side with the merchants, you are given more gold, if you side with the nobles, a knight joins your cause, while if you throw them both in your dungeon and take the land yourself your reputation goes down but your harvest  increase. decisions like these with unforseen consequences would be very cooll and give the idea that your actually a ruler of a dynamic kingdom with a lot more going on outside the battelfield, even if essentialy the game can't show it.

[[wow]] this is awesome indeed! I have been missing edx ever since I got windows 10 and wondering what to do. I was hoping the talking dosbox project might help with edx but again I'm not sure what has happened to Frank Black as crashmaster said. I hope he's okay, in 2012-14 Edx development was going strong, more adventures got ported, you'll even find some of my reviews from me in edx news letters, but then Frank Black dropped off the map. I did get a mail from him in 2016 apologizing for his absence but though I replied he didn't get back to me.Either way this looks like a great project. The only thing I'm sorry about currently is that a lot of the Edx tweaks don't seem to have made it into eamon Remastered. Particularly,  the extended version of the Text main hall which included a lot of options for using the gold you gained from progressive adventures to expand your character doesn't seem to be there. this is a shame, since otherwise there aren't really ways to increase your hardiness, agility and charisma other than by cheating in a few adventures. Also, I wonder if some of the adventures like the Jim Jacobson ones are the originals, or have Frank blacks additions from Edx. Then again on the plus side, there are several Eamon adventures here that I've not played beforee and weren't available in edx such as curse of the hellblade and cliffs of fire, which is good, it's also really awesome to be able to play Eamon on my windows 10 machine. This will definitely be getting a db page soon, and I look forward to seeing more Eamon adventures ported across, since to say I've been a huge Eamon fan ever since I first discovered Eamon deluxe in 2008, I haven't played that much of Eamon catalogue, which is a shame.

Defender, an agility-related imbalance might allow a couple of free rounds, but it wouldn't keep enemies from ever attacking. That's why I suspect it's a bug.@kdh: I think this is one quest that it's actually possible to completely miss if things don't get done in a particular order. If you've already finished "A Balancing Act" then I suspect you missed it.

I think the problem Milos is having is related to Dex or Agi.It was always my impression that the enemies were just losing their chance to attack, much in the same way that dragons attack before you pretty much all the time until you get really high agi later on.I wasn't aware it was a bug... Though if not than I suppose it is a pretty drastic advantage at times, particularly if it's happening right at the start of the game. Maybe his agi isn't clearing right when he restarts? not sure if he's double classing though.

hi, try turning off dolbi and see if, loudness equulisation is availible under the enhancements check boxes. if so, it may solve your issue.
