Re: [FairfieldLife] Re: Is advaita-vedaanta falsifiable?
The Higgs field/particles are relative and say nothing about pure Consciousness. The discoverers said nothing about Consciousness. ---In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com,wrote : The correlates of consciousness seem to show, and can be measured, but they do not actually show that consciousness exists, -- FWIW, that seems to apply also to, say, Higgs field, doesn't it?? The collision of protons, or whatever, creates rare(?) elementary particles that are predicted to be associated(?) with Higgs field??
[FairfieldLife] Re: Is advaita-vedaanta falsifiable?
The answer is NO. Pure Consciousness can't be discovered through the tools of modern science. There's no objective proof for Pure Consciousnesws and no proof for It's 'non-existence. If it's falsifiable, lets see the research paper (outside of the TM Org). PC can only be experienced for one''self. LThe fact that you experience IT is insufficient evidence for IT's existence. Similarly, lots of people experience visions of Jesus. So what? Again, not falsifiable.
[FairfieldLife] The Source of Natural Laws
The term "basis" in Shankara's poem (Cf. Stanza 6, where he says that the Absolute is the "basis" of the universe. This is more llike a container but does not mean chains of causation. Emmy Noether and the Source of Natural Laws): https://www.mail-archive.com/fairfieldlife@yahoogroups.com/msg357197.html https://www.mail-archive.com/fairfieldlife@yahoogroups.com/msg357197.html Naturally, curious people would then want to know where the symmetry came from. Note in Stanza #6 Shankara writes "I Am the basis of the Universe" (by "I" he alludes to "Shiva" in the universal sense as Pure Consciousness, the Absolute. It's (ideological immunity) involves the entire MEME and all of its parts, reflecting back and forth with the global chakra system, particularly the heart chakra and what's " dear" to people; whether the TMO whole package, MMY, Hagelin, etc. People that select only a slice of the whole Meme risk being labeled a heretic. Example: Deepak Chopra emphasizes the supposed connection between Quantum Mechanics and pure Consciousness; but he can spend a whole lecture on the subject without mentioning MMY or TM. I believe he has a different Guru Thus, he's on the fringe of the Fairfield ideology, and might be viewed with suspicion if he visited there. He's not currently a a Maharishi TB.

The important point is: are more people practicing TM due to the research? I'd bet that among the newcomers in the US, not a single new TM practitioner started due to the research. Besides, its of very low quality.
[FairfieldLife] Re: Shiva and quantum mechanics
Thx, excellent lecture! The ontological ground state as MMY states is the Self. However, the ground state in physics Is something relative, the zero point energy state. There's no known connection between the Self and the ground state as described in physics. If there is such a connection, let's see the references outside of MMY and MUM. Wikipedia: The ground state of a quantum mechanical https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_mechanics system is its lowest-energy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy state https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stationary_state; the energy of the ground state is known as the zero-point energy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zero-point_energy of the system. An excited state https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Excited_state is any state with energy greater than the ground state. In the quantum field theory https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_field_theory, the ground state is usually called the vacuum state https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vacuum_state or the vacuum https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vacuum#The_quantum-mechanical_vacuum. If more than one ground state exists, they are said to be degenerate https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Degenerate_energy_level. Many systems have degenerate ground states. Degeneracy occurs whenever there exists a unitary operator https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unitary_operator which acts non-trivially on a ground state and commutes https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commutator with the Hamiltonian https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamiltonian_(quantum_mechanics) of the system. According to the third law of thermodynamics https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third_law_of_thermodynamics, a system at absolute zero https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Absolute_zero temperature https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temperature exists in its ground state; thus, its entropy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entropy is determined by the degeneracy of the ground state. Many systems, such as a perfect crystal lattice https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crystal_lattice, have a unique ground state and therefore have zero entropy at absolute zero. It is also possible for the highest excited state to have absolute zero https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Absolute_zero temperature https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temperature for systems that exhibit negative temperature https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Negative_temperature

[FairfieldLife] Re: Who is the author of our actions?
Thx, the definitiveness of MMY's assertion as stated before is his personal opinion. In the Kriya Yoga Tradition, even advanced Yogis who can leave their bodies at will may have karma to work out, in which case they ascend to the Hiranyaloka astral plane to be instructed by Sri Yukteswar. Available online in the Autobiography of a Yogi, chapter entitled "The Resurrection of Sri Yukteswar". ... "As prophets are sent on earth to help men work out their physical karma, so I have been directed by God to serve on an astral planet as a savior," Sri Yukteswar explained. "It is called Hiranyaloka or 'Illumined Astral Planet.' There I am aiding advanced beings to rid themselves of astral karma and thus attain liberation from astral rebirths. The dwellers on Hiranyaloka are highly developed spiritually; all of them had acquired, in their last earth-incarnation, the meditation-given power of consciously leaving their physical bodies at death. No one can enter Hiranyaloka unless he has passed on earth beyond the state of sabikalpa samadhi into the higher state of nirbikalpa Samadhi There is a similar set of assertions in the Sant Mat Tradition. Jai Guru Sri Yukteswar "
[FairfieldLife] Re: YS: duHkha & viveka, part 1: definitions
Thx for mentioning that! Unfortunately, given Enlightenment, say such a person is stung by 10 box jelly fish. Would the person be in agony or not. If one replies that the Self doesn't suffer, true; but the relative suffers, and I doubt seriously that any amount of "Bliss" would be sufficient to overpower the pain. Also, Enlightened people grow old and die like everybody else. Some develop Dementia. MMY also said that physical death is an offense to the Divine Mother. Jai Guru Sakyamuni Buddha.
[FairfieldLife] Re: Who is the author of our actions?
Thx, still doesn't account for the probable fact that Enlightened people can perform Adharmic acts on a Tamasic level such as taking advantage of women and extracting money from followers. Are you suggesting that the relative "person" is not responsible for these acts? ... These considerations can easily slip into Neo-Advaita, which would generate a false list of non-sequiturs as follows. [my comments in brackets] 1. The Self is free of karma; i.e. the true Identity as pure Consciousness, as stated in the Upanishads. [true] 2. When one realizes the Self in Unity, since the Self is free of karma, one is free of karma, especially the bad karma of the past and the tendency to generate new bad karma. [false. This is a Neo-Advaitic misconception in that it separates "a person" into dual aspects of the Self and the relative, then discards the relative part. False because "a person" is both relative and Absolute together as one, not the Self separate from the relative. If the latter were true, then we could say that after E., karma is simply irrelevant and doesn't affect "us".] 3. [another false assumption is that the Gunas automatically shift from possibly Tamasic to Sattvic immediately when one becomes E. This is MMY's error. There's no law that says this is true. If somebody is dishonest before E, they must might be dishonest after E To conclude, MMY falsely asserts that people after E. are 1. incapable iof maning "mistaking" and are incapable of what might be considered evil acts such as taking advantage of women and extracting money from the Organization. MMY never addressed these obvious facts which undermine his claims as to freedom from karma.
[FairfieldLife] Re: Who is the author of our actions?
Thx Jr_esq for your comment below: "MMY was saying that the TM practice can lead one to cosmic consciousness and enlightenment. Thus, one is freed from the bondage of actions and Karma in this lifetime. As such, it is possible to be detached or maintain Self consciousness permanently while engaging in actions while living here on earth. MMY coined the phrase, "heaven on earth." Right, that's MMY's opinion, but there are differences in some other Traditions. Also, the notion that Enlightened people are free from the bondage of karma, this may not be true. The Self is already free from karma no matter what state, but we are talking about the relative body and subtle body. How about the cases of notorious Enlightened (probably) Gurus who abuse women and are obviously greedy? Are they free? I dount it! Some example of different opinions in other Traditions: 1. In the Sant Mat Tradition, people are not free of karma until they are able to travel out of the body at will, including at the time of death. 2. In the Kriya Yoga Tradition,, freedom from the clutches of karma requires to signs of development:: First, Enlightenment, and Second, being able to travel out of the body at the time of death, (willfully and at the time of one's choosing)). This grants the candidate entry into the Higher astral plane, Hiranyaloka, which is occupied by many types of Beings, but also those Enlightened people who have not fully worked out their karma. But again, this is only for the advanced Enlightened people who can travel out of their bodies willfully at the time of death. Then, after staying in Hiranyaloka for a time and being instructed by Advanced Teachers such as Sri Yukteswar, only then are they able to access the Causal plane. All of this is discussed in the article "The Resurrection of Sri Yukteswar", (enter that into Google). It's a Chapter in Yogananda's Autobiography of a Yogi. SHALOM ."

Thx, as usual. As to your statement that there were no hurricanes during the Assembly and crime decreased, this is a correlation, not causation. In a long tradition of bad science, the MUM authors continually rely on correlations without proving causation. (one of their dishonest tactics). But let's assume the causative relationship was true. But it's not true now, is it? Currently there is no "Assembly" and thus the TMO fails us because they failed to gather the sufficient numbers of people. Isn't that obvious? SHALOM
[FairfieldLife] Re: Who is the author of our actions?
There's a problem with the notion of a "you". The relative you and me doesn't end at the skin. There are countless karmic antecedents and interactions with contributing influences. To use an analogy, say there's a tiny whirlpool at the edge of a larger stream. The whirlpool merges with the Total stream in a transitionary way such that we can't establish exactly where the whirlpool begins and ends. The entire stream is actually the cause of the whirlpool (the latter being a part). Saying the Gunas is more accurate than saying a "you" since the relative you l is like the tiny whirlpool. At times, the tiny whirlpool may grow larger with smaller pools growing around It. Therefore, causation is difficult to assign to a particular body independent of the whole., although it's true that that "That" particular body did most of the acting, and is thus an agent. ..But not an completely independent agent. the Vegas shooter was a tiny whirlpool in the midst of a strem, sucking in thousands of people in a chain of causation. All of the causes (as Gunas), came together in that guy, Stephen. Yes, he's the agent, but along with countless other contributing factors. The totality of those causes manifest as Gunas and is a larger type of whirlpool. The energy was simply focused on his body while he fired those bullets. SHALOM
[FairfieldLife] Re: "The Field Paradigm" - Free eBook on Maharishi Effect
Thx, I read the e-book, basically a propaganda pitch for the TM and TMSP. The first 1/2 of the book covers the concept of interconnectedness along with some prior historical contributions such as Spinoza. This topic was covered long ago in much greater detail by physicist Dr. David Bohm and other physicists suzh as Zukav. Bohm came up with the expression "Implicate Order" for the Unitary field underlying all apparently separate objects, but especially people since the theme during the 70's was that if one could tap into this Field, all sorts of Siddhis would follow in their manifestation. Unfortunately, the bottom line is the results. Nopeno levitation from the TM practioners, but St. Thomas Aquinas could levitate, so he knew more than Hagelin, it seems. Obviously TM has positive benefits when it comes to brain wave coherence but that's not enough to produce Siddhis. In short, the TM people fail us once again, especially in light of recent disasters and Vegas. So much for butt bouncing.
[FairfieldLife] Re: Who is the author of our actions?
Right, it's the Gunas. The idea that a "you" is problematic since the components that comprise the relative "you" are . interconnected with the environment, and in a deterministic worldview the precise author can't be determined due to the countless contributing factors. Thus, the "author" as MMY says could only be the Gunas, within the context of the Totality and of an individual body mind, the latter often being identified as a direct physical agent. Since karma is unfathomable, that means that countless prior causes may have contributed to the Vegas killer's actions, and the actual physical act is the tip of a huge iceberg of contributing factors. For purposes of justice, only the direct agent is held accountable.
[FairfieldLife] Re: Mantras can Rewire and Strengthen the Nervous Systems
Thx for the excellent post. Yes, interior experience transcending duality is a heretical concept, still in Catholocism, officially, but in the long run there's no way they can stop it. The trend of evolution is in the direction of nondualism. The conflict amounts to 1. contemplation, i.e. closing the eyes and contemplating some dualistic image, say of Jesus or Biblical concepts.; vs. 2. Meditation such as Quietism or TM in which the mind is allowed to drift on its own like a feather gently falling to the ground; and by "ground" we mean the "Ground of Being", not an image of Jesus. Even though heretical, the Monkis can easily get around the prohibition through their "Centering" idea and by combining the two approaches: 1. First, contemplation on Jesus, 2. along with "Centering", (alloing the mind to experience the true "Center": pure Consciousness. In addition the Church has a long history of silent contemplation with many illustrious Saints such as St. John of the Cross. If you read his statements, it appears he combined BOTH meditation on Jesus and Realization of pure Consciousness. So basically, on a practical level it will be impossible to separate the two imethods. To the Church, "Gnosis" (knowledge of the Self), is heretical since it's not based on exterior revelation. They are fighting a losing battle: Nonduality is the wave of the future. SHALOM
[FairfieldLife] Origins of modern Christian Revivalism
We all have seen it on TV, if not in person: The congregation is whipped up into an feverish state of emotional frenzy by fiery lectures (sometimes beginning low but then ending in a crescendo of emotions). By that time the congregants are waving their arms, some falling on the floor, others in a state of ecstasy. The final stage is the "Altar Call", where people are called upon to make their decisions for Christ and come to the front. At this point the Pastor may gently press the forehead of the person in line, who then falls to the floor, having been "Slain in the Holy Spirit". Naturally, the Pastor counts the number of participants. This is the state of countless Protestant Churches in the U.S, of many separate Sects. The trend originated by Charles G. Finney (died in 1875)., As pointed out by many Finney detractors suspicious of such emotional outburst (descendants of the early Calvinists), the so-called "conversions" of such people didn't last long, with many descending into their former sinful ways. http://www.christianitytoday.com/history/issues/issue-20/charles-grandison-finney-father-of-american-revivalism.html http://www.christianitytoday.com/history/issues/issue-20/charles-grandison-finney-father-of-american-revivalism.html Shalom

[FairfieldLife] Types of Pietism
May be categorized as to the early Age of Enlightenment (mainly German Lutherasns) (17-th century) and the later period (l18-th) being influenced by the founders of Methodism: John Wesley and his friend George Whitefield. The early period had an important evolutionary trend in that: Quietism (a practice of the Quakers and others), became distinct form "Enthusiasm" which later evolved ;into "Being Born again in the Holy Spirit", popular especially in Methodism and then many other sects such as the Pentacostals. Thus, we have two trends: 1. Quietism leading to Transcendental Awareness, and ...2. Being "Born Again" as a purely emotional conversion Those are two important trends we have today, for the most part completely at odds. The second group is of course a package deal accompanied by rigid literal interpretations of the Bible, group confessions, the singing of Hymns, and Evangelistic ferver leading to religious conversions of non-Believers. ... Quietist movements OTOH, do not emphasize emotional religious conversions since the Essence of what occurs in Quietism is something that can be "caught" but not "taught". As to a popularity contest, Quietism and it forms are today in the extreme 'minority, mainly due to the growth of Evangelism through John Wesley and George Whitefield. [FairfieldLife] Age of Enlightenment
The Age of Enlightenment can be dated from the Treaties of Wesphalia (May - Oct 1648), which marked the end of the 30 Years' War between Protestants and Catholics, and the French Revolution, 1789 This is an obviously important Age which included both Spiritual giants such as George Fox, and other thinkgs such as Newton. The concepts that originated during the Age of E. were crucial for the eventual entry of an even "higher" level of thinking represented by MMY, namely Advaita Vedanta. George Fox was a friend of Cromwell and healed the latter's Daughter. Fox introduced Quietism as an important component of European Piety, independent of the influence of the Papacy. This freedom of thought along with Freemasonry influenced the Founding Fathers in the US and the French Revolution. It's obviously hard to see MMY coming to the West via a Catholic country. The US and the UK were fertile ground to the new, revolutionary teachings of MMY. Jai Guru George Fox and thanks also the O. Cromwell! [FairfieldLife] Re: Can the enlightened beings go to Mars, and other
Right, but based on the evidence, not all Enlightened people can perform controlled out of body travel. Such travels can be categorized into two levels: (maybe more): 1. travels to actual places with the astral body, say to Mars. This would be a horizontal type of travel. A vertical type of travel would be to higher dimensions. Legitimate NDE's might fall into either or both categories. First, the person in an astral body may float above the physical and pass through the walls, then seeing landscapes outside. Then, typically the person might see a tunnel then travel into a brilliant light. ... btw, such travel would have to be instantaneous regardless of whether to "a place" such as Mars or to a higher dimension. The distance between the Milky Way Galaxy and the Andromeda Galaxy is 2.5 million Light Years. FTL travel would be the only way to get there, not subject to the ordinary physical limit of the speed of light. ... I hereby challenge ANY Batgapper to travel out of his/her body to the Andromeda Galaxy, find a planet with intelligent beings, then give a full report.

[FairfieldLife] Advaita Vedanta, Spinoza, and Panetheism
This quote from Wikipedia should clarify some points of possible confusion seen in various Youtube contributors regarding pantheism and Spinoza, as well as Hinduism.:(entry on Pantheism) In another Wikipedia entry, we note that Linguist and Vedic scholar Max Mueller was the first to point out the similarity between Spinoza and Advaita Vedanta. Thus, Spinoza = Advaita Vedanta, Bht misunderstanding arises in the entries regarding pantheism. (that the cosmos is God). Not completely correct. The cosmos has two aspects, Purusha, (unchanging Being) and Prakriti (Nature) The two aspects are simultaneously one and different. Purusha is unchanging, Prakriti is ever-changing. Thus, advocates of pantheism leave out the "Being" part of the Cosmos, what Spinoza called substance. Buddhists call it emptiness or Shunyata. From Wikipedia: Comparison with non-Christian religions[edit https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Pantheism=edit=10] Some 19th-century theologians thought that various pre-Christian religions and philosophies were pantheistic. They thought Pantheism was similar to the ancient Hindu[14] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pantheism#cite_note-Worman-14:pp. 618 philosophy of Advaita https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advaita (non-dualism) to the extent that the 19th-century German Sanskritist Theodore Goldstücker https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theodore_Goldst%C3%BCcker remarked that Spinoza's thought was "... a western system of philosophy which occupies a foremost rank amongst the philosophies of all nations and ages, and which is so exact a representation of the ideas of the Vedanta, that we might have suspected its founder to have borrowed the fundamental principles of his system from the Hindus."[48 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pantheism#cite_note-48 ...Shalom
[FairfieldLife] Philosophical Arguments for Monotheism
From Gotquestion.org: By Monotheism, the writer refers to a Biblical type of God, not the "God" of Monism, Advaita Vedanta and Spinoza use the term God, but the Deity in this article is the Creator God, usually Male and dispensing (at times) bizarre ordinances, like slavery is OK and stoning people is just fine. Lets review the arguments and look for flaws: [my comments in brackets] Philosophical/Theological arguments for Monotheism - There are many philosophical arguments for the impossibility of there being more than one God in existence. Many of these depend a great deal on one’s metaphysical position concerning the nature of reality. Unfortunately, in an article this short it would be impossible to argue for these basic metaphysical positions and then go on to show what they point to regarding monotheism, but rest assured that there are strong philosophical and theological grounds for these truths that go back millennia (and most are fairly self-evident). Briefly, then, here are three arguments one might choose to explore: 1. If there were more than one God, the universe would be in disorder because of multiple creators and authorities, but it is not in disorder; therefore, there is only one God. [right, there are many "Gods", like Ganesh, Kali, etc, and as MMY pointed out, they are personal expressions of various specific laws of nature. And, in fact , the world IS in disorder]. 2. Since God is a completely perfect being, there cannot be a second God, for they would have to differ in some way, and to differ from complete perfection is to be less than perfect and not be God. [Right, but the writer confuses a definition of a hypothetical God with reality, and provides no evidence for the existence of a "perfect being" or Personality. Calling the Angry God of the O.T. "perfect", is total BS..But the send part - that other candidates to Goodhood don't exist, would probably be true. If anything is "perfect", it would have to be Spinoza's God (i.e. Substance, or what MMY calls Being. But Being (as "God" must truly be the ONLY God since that Being is coextensive with the Multivers/Cosmos]. 3. Since God is infinite in His existence, He cannot have parts (for parts cannot be added to reach infinity). If God’s existence is not just a part of Him (which it is for all things which can have existence or not), then He must have infinite existence. Therefore, there cannot be two infinite beings, for one would have to differ from the other.[This statement is true, and Spinoza uses a similar argument for the existence of Substance, or Being-In-Itself. However, since the writer in this article is referring to the Biblical God, the notion that this God is "Infinite" is solely based on Biblical statements and is lacking in evidence. OTOH, Spinoza's God (Substance) is Absolutely Infinite since It's coextensive with the Cosmos/ Multiverse]. Someone may wish to argue that many of these would not rule out a sub-class of “gods,” and that is fine. Although we know this to be untrue biblically, there is nothing wrong with it in theory. In other words, God could have created a sub-class of “gods,” but it just happens to be the case that He did not. If He had, these “gods” would only be limited, created things—probably a lot like angels (Psalm 82 https://biblia.com/bible/esv/Ps%2082). This does not hurt the case for monotheism, which does not say that there cannot be any other spirit beings—only that there cannot be more than one God [Not quite correct since the Commandment says "Thou shalt have no other Gods before Me". Such goods could very well be competitors of the Biblical God, thus undermining the latter's Infinite nature.} SHALOM
[FairfieldLife] Re: Henotheism in Hinduism
Thx, the online sources are not in agreement, possibly because the writers fail to understand Advaita Vedanta. As to Henotheism, the Wikipedia post has it right, in that one (like Shankara) can accept the tenet: "Brahman is the world, the world is Brahman", along with the label "God". Personally, I prefer the Buddhist perspective in not calling existence (Cf. MMY's SBAL) "God", even though MMY used the term in one small book. But in the broadest sense, Shakara's worldview can be called Henotheism As to the similarity between Shankara's Advaita Vedanta and Spinoza, the famous linguist Max Mueller was the first to point this out, but the similarity extends only to what Spinoza called "Substance" (or Being-In-Itself). This is the same as MMY's "Being", and possibly that of Aristotle, although the latter wasn't a Monist. In the West, humanity would have to wait until Plotinus to encounter true non-dual Monism. (But alas, no connection to Quietism.) Spinoza was a further advance, but his approach was through rationalism, and he also failed to get the connection to Quietism. But a contemporary of his, George Fox, did get the connection. https://www.gotquestions.org/henotheism.html https://www.gotquestions.org/henotheism.html

[FairfieldLife] Key to levitation
In the RC Church history, there are over 200 levitators. I've read as many biographies as I could get my hands on. In all cases, the prerequisite ingredient is out of body travel, what the Saints call "Going into Ecstasy.". Thus, there is 1. Frogic travel, 2. Yogic travel, and 3. Out of body travel. Typically, the Saint having gone into Ecstasy (while at prayer alone in a room, or in Church at the altar)), is unaware that such an experience is taking place. An observer may see the Saint in a kneeling position or lying down. Some have reported that in the case of the 17-th century Saint Stanislaus Papczynski, his eyes rolling up and down, back and forth uncontrollably and apparently unconscious. Second necessary ingredient in the case of the RC levitators is devotion to Jesus and or Mary. Levitators in the Kriya Yoga tradition have an unsually advanced mastery of Breath, leading to out of body travel or levitation. It's not surprising that the Dome "levitators" have only reached the Frogic stage. They have no mastery when it comes to out of body travel, are not devoted to Jesus and Mary, and have no mastery over Breath, as do the advanced Kriya Yoga practitioners.

Einstein said that his God is the God of Spinoza,. The latter said that "existence" is god,. MMY uses the word "Being". [FairfieldLife] Re: Robert Saltzman - Buddha at the Gas Pump Interview
Great exchange of ideas, highly recommended for those interested in the nature of how people really know what's true. Saltzman's short answer: "I don't know". His provocative but healthful cynicism regarding various Non-Dual teachers such as Adyashanti and Gangaji has led him to conclude that very few of such teachers are Awakened. But then, he says he's Awakened! (nice). Though his fellow is a philosophical and psychological genius who spent some years as a Non-Dual teacher, he winds up denying that career but then speaks from the pov of a Non-Dual teacher! So go figure that one out. Also, he says "Robert" (his relative self) has beliefs, but he doesn't. This is absurd. Obviously, pure Consciousness is free of beliefs, and as the Self, can't have them. But this artificially separates the "Robert" from the pure Consciousness Self, which is a form of dualism. He thus contradicts himself. He claims to be a Non-Dualist but can't escape dualism; and winds up being another Neo-Advaitic teacher like the Gurus he criticizes: Gangaji and Adyashanti.

[FairfieldLife] Throne of God experience
The "Throne of God" is an expression representing the Judaeo-Christian Deity YHVH, but also may include visions by Christians of the Throne of YHVH and Jesus. (it's a package deal apparently). Most of the Batgap people seem to believe they have reached a certain level (if we can use that word since Consciousness isn't a "level") of accomplishment, sufficiently notable and worthy of an appearance in Youtube accompanied by the sale of books describing their "accomplishment":. But I dont' see the point in going around saying "I'm Awakened" and then not showing much in the way of demonstrable Siddhis. Few of the Batgap people can even come close to Master John Douglass in terms of psychic abilities. If the Batgap people are so great, I hereby challenge ANY of them to describe a "Throne of God" experience in which they leave their physical bodies and travel to the Judaeo-Christian realm, and then seeing right beform them, the Radiant Form of YAHWEH, (YHVH). The original source for the Throne of God experinces, is the prototypical description by Ezekiel, but the Midieval Kaballists also held the Throne of God experience in high esteem. IMO, about 10% of the Batgap people are very impressive, perhaps led by Harri Aalto. (looking forward to his second book). I don't see the point in making a claim for Awakening but then no following through with something to "show" for it. After all, there are an infinite number of things to consider before Awakening, but only ONE thing to consider at the transition (That everything's Pure Consciousness - "The World is Brahman, Brahman is the World"), but where is the revelation as to the infinite number of things to accomplish after the transition. Is it sufficient for people to go around saying, "I'm Awakened, I'm Awakened, I'm Awakened.". In addition to the visions of Shiva, I'd like to hear somebody who has had a "Throne of God" experience, as mentioned by the Kaballists. (as mentioned by Ezekiel in the Hebrew Scriptures). How about somebody like Kirpal Singh and others in the Sant Mat Tradtiion who are capable of traveling out of their bodies at will? At the very miniimum level of accomplishment, some people believe that there are structures made by Intelligent Agents on the Moon and Mars. I challenge ANY of the Batgappers to astral travel to the Moon and Mars, then give a full report on whether their are, or are not such structures. Apart from such a simple task from supposedly Enlightened people, NO, I do not want to continually hear about how you're Awakened and I'm not buying your books.

[FairfieldLife] Need for Nanotechnology?
Is there a need for Nanotechnology in the transhumanist model of evolution? No. Kurzweil is a nutcase, and the recent series on the Natgeo channel "Year Million": - exploring various possibilities in the distance future, has a major flaw: Make that three flaws: 1. First flaw is that the more desirable (for most) choice in the distant future would be to upload one's "consciousness" onto a virtual reality type of internet, while the physical body is stored someplace. IMO Dumbest idea I've ever heard of. Those TV producers are assuming that one's identity is solely memories, and if one can tap into the brain mechanically, those memories constitute the "you"; and given time, technology will provide the means of uploading the memories into what they called The HIVE: (a shared virtual reality world that everybody on earth is invited to get into). 2. Next problem: leaving the physical body behind somewhere. (this could get messy). Obviously inspired by the Matrix movies. Leave me out of that world. 3. Third major flaw. It assumes that Descartes dualism (the Soul can be separate from the body). is false and that only Naturalism is the real model (that only physical matter exists as information.). Then, their phoney logic jumps from the "information" part (the "you" is only the information contained in memories), to an eternal "you" in the HIVE world (a shared Internet virtual world). An alternative to the "Year Million" model of living in the Internet HIVE is the Sant Mat model: develop the ability to travel outside the physical body to anyplace in the multiverse. Then, when the physical body naturally dies, one is free to live in any subtle realm (only returning to the physical world by choice as an Avatar). SHALOM
RE: [FairfieldLife] Can the Human Brain be Improved?
Thx, about a dozen of the Batgappers have extraordinary psychic abilities, impressive in my book. As to the rest, most are boring Neo-Advaitins having only one message: everything is pure Consciousness. That's only one statement of fact, while what comes after (or before) that Realization taking place only once, is an Infinity of possibilities including exploration of other galaxies and universes. As a next step on the evolutionary ladder, try shifting the focus from "Pure Consciousness" to Neg-Entropy, i.e. as an individual Soul, consider two choices: 1. Dissolving completely into Nothingness with no more further relative bodies. 2. Infinite continuum of evolution viewing the "Soul" (subtle body) as an active Agent for doing good in the world for countless eons to come, perhaps even forever. That's the choice: 1. No existence, or 2 Eternal relative existence using one or more Subtle bodies. The notion of Lesh Avidya or whatever they call it (a remnant of ignorance needed to maintain a celestial relative existence), is completely bogus. The Absolute can not be more or less 100% Absolute, whether there's a body there or not. Sustaining a body is not dependent on "Ignorance". Ramana Maharshi once stated that he had 20 subtle bodies operating on different planes of existence, simultaneously As a first step using the Neg-Entropic model, consider the Siddhi of out of body travel to anyplace in the multiverse. That's the goal of Gurus in the Sant Mat Tradition, like Kirpal Singh.

What the TMO is offering is an incomplete package since they offer a. and b. but haven't succeeded in demonstrating any Siddhis. If they have, lets see the videos. As to the ME (The Shakti Effect), George Fox radiated tremendous Spiritual Power, even healing the Daughter of Oliver Cromwell. The TMO - only more opioid deaths since they have failed to gather enough Dome participants to any any appreciable effect on the dire situation.
[FairfieldLife] Re: In Statistical Truth, The Call to Spiritual Order,Rally Now to Meditation!
Thx, I agree with you on those assessments. The fact that there is no agreed upon standard for measuring the Shakti (basically since few people can even perceive it clearly), should not deter one's efforts to promote the ME (Shakti-Effect), since the positive effects are obvious. (the exact degree of those benefits is open to question).
[FairfieldLife] Re: In Statistical Truth, The Call to Spiritual Order,Rally Now to Meditation!
Re "not the replicating studies of recent times" This statement is problematic since whether from long ago or recent times, the TMO has not shown that subtle energies operating in the ME (Shakti) can be measured at all. While it's true that certain people with psychic abilities (e.g. in the past, Leadbeater and at present, John Douglas), even these experiences are subjective and the property of rare individuals. Either the Shakti can a. not be measured at all b. can be cognized but not quantified or c. can be measured and quantified with a matchine. None of these cases applies since assuming Hagelin is behind most of the claims for the ME, his statement on Batgap as to psychic abilities shows that he's not particularly adept in that regard So, if neither Hagelin or the other Administrators have any special psychic powers, and they haven't yet discovered a machine that can measure the Shakti, then: there are no alternatives and the claims as to ME are wildly speculative and without a scientific basis. As to statistical replication, one must eliminate all other possible Shakti effects as candidates. The research on the physiological effects of TM is in a separate category and has its own faults, chiefly the failure to compare the results with experienced Mindfulness practitioners.

[FairfieldLife] Re: Guru Scandals
Thx, nice to hear from you. My first exposure to MMY's indescretions was in 1972. I was working at SIMS in Westwood, and while talking to a coworker who happened to be MMY's barber, he volunteered an incident in which (he stated), he was walking past MMY's room and the door was slightly opened. He looked in a saw MMY in the physical embrace of a female, i.e. a sexual embrace. That's a second hand account, since I was not the observer. Of course, one can have 3rd, 4-th, etc - hand enoucnters which become diminished in credibility. However, due to the integrity of the first witness, - the barber -, (an upstanding person), I believed and now believe the account was real.

[FairfieldLife] Re: FF Meditating Community, Life in the Body..
Sorry, that's "almost died in 2015", not 1925. Took me about 45 days to get onto the road of recovery, starting with an increase in life force enabling me go get out of the trap of absolute exhaustion. That's the first step: Life Force, - something modern medicine doesn't even recognize. A kidney disease meltdown isn't a desirable condition, to say the least, since the body is flooded with its own toxins leading to a downward spiral of more organ damage, more toxins, more damage, etc. OM Shalom I don't ordinary advocate Standard Process products but will in this case in the event Tim is able to read this e mail. Order some of the products immediately. Don't forget the Black Cumin seed oil capsules.
[FairfieldLife] Re: FF Meditating Community, Life in the Body..
Re: Tim Hunter. , I;'m familiar with kidney failure - almost died in 1925 but recovered by drinking lots of water and taking certain supplements. Unfortunately, as long as one is a. physically in a hospital or hospice setting, or b. under the "care" of a physician, one can forget about a recovery. Simply but unfortunately put, there's no cure in mainstream medicine for kidney failure, and the longer he stays in the Hospital, the higher his chances for death.. I recommend starting with Black Cumin seed oil, 4X per day (an Ayurvedic remedy). Black cumin seeds were also found in King Tut's tomb and are mentioned in the Bible. I'll send some mantric energy his way. SHALOM,
[FairfieldLife] History of Black Cumin seed oil
Black cumin seeds - found in King Tut's tomb. Popular in ancient and modern Middle Eastern countries and in India. Has numerous benefits. (Black Cumin seed oil - available from Swanson's Vitamins). One of the active ingredients is thymoquinone. Plugging that into Pub Med brings up hundreds of applications for improving health. https://theblessedseed.com/history-of-black-seed/ https://theblessedseed.com/history-of-black-seed/
[FairfieldLife] Re: Utopia
Precisely! Just to take one problem: opioid addition. If there were sufficient Dome numbers, then they failed to offset the thousands of deaths. But if there weren't enough Dome numbers, then it's the fault of the MUM Administrators for not getting the Domes filled. In either case, a dismal failure. There are a host of other seemingly intractable problems, such as the nutcase in N. Korea and (if you live in a large City, the hordes of homeless people on the streets, every 30 yards or so by walking. L.A. has its own mini-City of the homeless.
[FairfieldLife] Re: More on cool VAGUS Nerve actions
Note: if you enter Cannabidiol into the Pub Med field, there are 1721 articles shown for treating a wide variety of diseases, most in some way connected to nervous system disorders but also the dopaminergic neuronal system (which may malfunction in Parkinsons'). Another substance with potential for treating many ailments is thymoquinone, the active ingredient in Black Cumin seed oil (Nigella Sativa, an Ayurvedic remedy, but available throughout he Middle East and S. Western Asia. "Thymoquinone" has 713 entries in Pub Med, but if you enter "Thymoquinone Parkinson's" into the field, 7 articles come up. There is a remarkable overlap between the influences of Thymoquinone and Cannabidiol. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=thymoquinone++Parkinson%27s https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=thymoquinone++Parkinson%27s
[FairfieldLife] Re: More on cool VAGUS Nerve actions
Thx for the interesting article. Another semi-separate but complementary "axis" is the Endocannabinoid system which is comprised of CBD (cannabinpod ) receptors in the brain and nervous system. In a nutshell, by way of example, the symptoms of Parkinson's can be lessened by smoking MJ or taking the non-psyocative ingredient CBD (legal and available without a Rx). https://scienceofparkinsons.com/tag/cannabidiol/ https://scienceofparkinsons.com/tag/cannabidiol/

Re: [FairfieldLife] Re: The amazing story of Suzanne Segal
Thx.everybody for the outstanding comments. The question has come up many times re: the value and dangers of sharing "experiences" including claims as to Enlightenment. Don't be shy, I will value everybody's testimonials and claims without putting anybody down with one exception. I have a zero tolerance for "Neo-Advaita" and will call people out whenever possible (or, I will ignore them as in most of the Batgappers). I no longer have Suzanne's excellent book, but it appears that she was approaching Self-Realizaiton as defined by Ramana Maharshi (may be MMY's Brahman Consciousness); and I'm reminded of Ramana's Self-Realization experience of July 17, 1896: All of a sudden and without prior formal meditative practice, he felt like he was "dying" and using the words "as if dead" he apparently slipped into or fell into (as he says) Self-Realization or complete non-dual Reality. However, he apparently never shared any type of confusion, unpleasant Kundalin experience (or even a prior Kundalini experience); and none of the Ongological crises had by Suzanne. Just the Self, from that day to his death. The apparent confusion Suzanne expressed and it's remedy as she approached physical death may have been caused by the Neo-Advaitic fallacy: that there's no relative self, no ordinary ego, no experience, no karma, etc etc, no no noto the point of denying all of relative existence. It's easy to see how some claimants to E. can easily fall into this last snare of Maya. Then, just before her death, she quit denying her relative identity as "Suzanne" and got out of the Neo-Advaitic trap. The typical message of Neo-Advaita is that people should give up their "story" (personal relative history and identity and "Just Be". No techniques necessary - just Be. That's the message of the main proponent of Neo-Advaita in the 20-th century: HWL Poonja and his many disciples such as Andrew Cohen and Gangaji. ymmv
