Hi Harry,
I can't see how this is a bug - I have played the entire demo with no
problems - except of course the large chasm puzzle which has now become
clear to me.

Regards,
Damien.

[Audyssey] MOTA.

2009-12-08 Thread Ryan Conroy
Hi Tom,

Can you add a key to interupt speach? When I use the view command, sometimes I
don't want to hear everything it has to say, so I'd like a key so I can
interupt it. Also a way to interupt the little intro at the start after you
pick the dificulty.
I was also wondering, is it over if you die on level two? You have to play the
whole game over again if you die on level two? You can't start where you left
off? Or is this just in the demo because you can't save your game?

Thanks,
Ryan

Hi Hayri.
Firstly if you offer criticism, do it constructively please. The tone of
your messages are really annoying me.

The files entombed generates are needed to maintain stability. The
autoworld stores the dungeon levels and the autosave is a saved game
that you can restore and is automatically created after every battle.

Regarding your other error, how much ram do you have and how old is it?

[Audyssey] Fwd: new game on GW Micro script central

2009-12-08 Thread Raul A. Gallegos
Hello all. If you are a Window-Eyes user, you might be interested in the
following. You need to have the current version of Window-Eyes for this
to work since 7.0 and above support scripting. The current version of
Window-Eyes is 7.11 and if you have 7.0 or anything in between, the
upgrade to 7.11 is free. To download the following script/game, go to
www.gwmicro.com/scriptcentral and get it there. You don't need to have
an account to download a Window-Eyes script, but if you have one, you
can rate any script, comment on it and much more. Here is the information.

Original Message

From: Jeff Weiss jnwe...@lwsb.org

I just posted a new game to script central
Lunar Lander.
Some of you may remember this from the Apple II e days.
The help text from the script follows:

Press Control-Alt-Shift-L to play the LunarLander game.
You are landing on the moon and have taken over manual control
500 feet above the surface of the moon.
You have a downward velocity of 50 feet per second
and you have 120 units of fuel remaining.
Your objective is to land softly on the moon and still have fuel remaining.
To do this, you must burn fuel at a rate which will slow you down,
but not exhaust the fuel too early!
Unfortunately, you cannot burn fuel at a constant rate and accomplish
your objective.
If you burn the same amout of fuel twice in a row, you will forfeit 1
unit of fuel!

you can burn from 1 to 30 units of fuel at a time!
You need to land with a downward velocity of 10 feet per second or less!
Enter letter r alone to repeat your current status.
Good luck!

Try it out and let me know if there are any problems.

half the time the tone that we get in his emails is what he intended.

[Audyssey] MOTA some suggestions

2009-12-08 Thread lirin

Hi Thomas.

I was looked at the latest mota beta 10 and must say, the game is much
better and better.

I have some suggestion for you and your project, i think i wanna buy
this game, when will be ready.

What about suggestions:

Weapon suggestions: Good idea is add some realistis sound of weapons, i
mean for example shooting reactions etc. For now, as fast as i can click
space bar, i can fire with unreal speed. My sugesstion is add a shooting
time, other reactions when shooting for every weapon, and add shooting
action, and time for reload using a shotgun, wich didn't sound like
shotgun now.

I hope, the game will be great, long and fascinating, cause promising
very good.

Sorry for my not fantastic english.

Cheers

Tom

2009-12-08 Thread Jimmy Odin Kristoffersen

Hi Dark,

As I'm playing Entombed my self, and so far loving it, i got the same
problem here, just not as Hairy menshint.
When dying in the game, and go back to the mane menu, choose "lode game",
it ask if i wish to go back to the point where ordo safe last saved, if you
choose no, it sometimes put me back where i was, but sometimes i cant pick
up items with the g key, i then have to reload again, and that's is the only
thing i wonder about.

Hope i make my self understandable.
Thanks,

And you'll have to be more specific about the error message you get so we

I can't see how this is a bug - I have played the entire demo with no
problems - except of course the large chasm puzzle which has now become
clear to me.

Hi Hayden,
Actually, the fact pressure switches have no sounds is intentional. That
is why they are hidden, and you have to look for them using Angela's
torch. While level 2 only has one of them later levels will have more
hidden elements and puzzles to solve. That's the point of having a
slightly puzzle oriented game.

Auto save only comes into play in hard mode, sinse in hard mode the save
files are overwritten so that you can't restart from a last save point
after

you die (what makes it different from normal mode).

I've not noticed a problem with entombed saving myself, but if your
having one, tell Jason Allan about it, it is stil a beta version
afterall and it stil throws up bugs occasionally as a consequence.

[Audyssey] Enthusiastic Entombed Query

2009-12-08 Thread William L. Houts

This question is probably really immature given that the game hasn't been
released yet. But I am very eager to play and prepared to pay the amount
he's asking, so I think it's a fair question. I'm just wondering if Jason
is interested in player comments about the game, things we'd like to see in
it --you know, monsters, spells, character classes and so forth. I was a
Nethack HOUND before I lost my sight and I'm completely thrilled that
someone is bringing us blinkies something similar.

To those who have playtested Entombed, can you tell us anything about it?
Is there deep game play? Is it addictive? Can you buy gear from shops or
rob them? Are there gods you can pray to and get blessings or enchantments?
What does Jason have planned for future releases? And so forth.

Re: [Audyssey] MOTA.

2009-12-08 Thread Thomas Ward

Hi ryan,
Yeah, i can add a key to stop speech. That is no big deal. in fact if
you hit another speech key such as the direction facing it will stop the
view command and say something else. So completely stopping speech
should be no big problem. I believe I had this feature in the game
before, asigned to control, but someone complained about it so I removed it.
As to your second question that is just because you are playing the
demo. In the full registered version you can save your games as early
and as often as you like, and can continue the game from your last saved
point. So you have to start over in the demo, because of the save/load
game restriction in the demo. The purpose of a demo is to show the game
off without giving people unrestricted game play.

HTH

Ryan Conroy wrote:

Thanks,

Re: [Audyssey] Enthusiastic Entombed Query

2009-12-08 Thread dark

Hello William.

Yes, Jason hates user feedback and comments with a burning and diabolic
passion, and anyone who sends him such can expect to have a goblin
hoard show up outside their door waving sharpened fish in a vicious and
threatening manner!

Entombed beta testing was an unpleasant and horrible thing. Beta testers
were spirited from their homes at dead of night by a dozen fowl demons which
Jason had summoned to do his dark bidding.

They were then taken to a secret location somewhere undernieth the
pacific, --- where various horrible and generally nasty things happened.

I won't go into details, but lets just say I now have a perminant fear of
anchovies, toothpicks, and Diet cola!

After all these proceedings, the beta testers were forced to say only what
Jason wished saying about the game, --- -on pain of, well lets just say
badgers!

Given all this, it would be absolutely unthinkable for Jason to put the game

This question is probably really immature given that the game hasn't been
released yet. But I am very eager to play and prepared to pay the amount
he's asking, so I think it's a fair question. I'm just wondering if Jason
is interested in player comments about the game, things we'd like to see
in it --you know, monsters, spells, character classes and so forth. I was
a Nethack HOUND before I lost my sight and I'm completely thrilled that
someone is bringing us blinkies something similar.

To those who have playtested Entombed, can you tell us anything about it?
Is there deep game play? Is it addictive? Can you buy gear from shops or
rob them? Are there gods you can pray to and get blessings or
enchantments? What does Jason have planned for future releases? And so
forth.

Hi Hayden,
Actually, the fact pressure switches have no sounds is intentional. That
is why they are hidden, and you have to look for them using Angela's
torch. While level 2 only has one of them later levels will have more
hidden elements and puzzles to solve. That's the point of having a
slightly puzzle oriented game.

out Cerberos with somewhere between 5 and 7 strokes from the sword. You
might want to make some sound for the pressure switch; I almost missed it
and I would have, had I not checked my eMail earlier.

Originally when I started on the net about eleven years ago, i had this odd
idea that giving out my name was a bad idea, so I adopted Dark as a
convenient handle.

The problem is I've now been Dark, or Dark empathy so long, I actually
find it just as easy to answer to as my real name, it's also convenient
to have a handle that people can recognize as I wander the net, even on
games and such.

my real name is Luke, it's not a particular secret, but i'd prefer
people to call me Dark just because I'm more used to it online.

I generally only have people I know offline as well call me Luke, and
have a private E-mail address accordingly.

Really, it doesn't actually matter which name you use, I'm comfortable
answering to both.

Beware the grue!

Personally I like it that way. It took me a bit to find the switch in level

Hi ryan,
Yeah, i can add a key to stop speech.

2009-12-08 Thread Thomas Ward

Hi Tom,
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll take a look at limiting the amount of
shots you can perform in a certain amount of time. As it should be a
relatively upgrade I'll certainly put that on my todo list.
As for when the game will be released I don't have a crystal ball. I
don't really know when it will get released. All I can say is
development is pregressing much faster now, and the engine for the most
part is finished. So most of the work is just adding levels and making
sure everything works properly. I don't foresee more than a couple of
months to do that.

Re: [Audyssey] arror when starting Mysteries of the Ancients

2009-12-08 Thread Thomas Ward

Hi mich,
Ok, this is hard to say, but it sounds like a dependancy error. Make
sure you installed the programs in the correct order. That is install
the .NET Framework 3.5, then Managed DirectX, and then the game. If you
don't do it in that exact order it won't work.
Also be aware that the Managed DirectX setup extracts the files to a
temp directory and sometimes you manually have to go in and run the file
dxsetup.exe to properly install it. If you don't do that as described
DirectX won't be updated properly.

Re: [Audyssey] MOTA.

2009-12-08 Thread Thomas Ward

Hi Hayden,
Yes, the 1.0 demo will include both levels 1 and 2. For the most part
the game demo is already complete other than any bug fixes and so on
that will happen as I upgrade the game to 1.0.
As far as skipping level intros that isn't going to be possible. one
reason for playing them is to give you something to listen to while the
levels, sounds, music, etc gets reset in the background. As this can
take quite a while which would you rather hear a cool sounding intro to
the level or dead silence. Pressing the escape key isn't going to make
the game level load any faster, and may actually cause more problems in
the long run.

ok guys found my way passed the spikes.
I pulled one lever in level2 but nothing else.
I find the chasm.
I know there needs to be a bridge because I heard about it on here.
I used the view command to find it I bumped into a wall and looked.
I have not found the bridge.

Re: [Audyssey] entombed

2009-12-08 Thread David Chittenden

Hello,

As with all weapons and armor, they can only be used by classes which
are able to use them. The whip is a specialized weapon for a specialized
class.

You might consider joining the entombed email list to send and receive
specific messages about the game.

2009-12-08 Thread Karl Belanger
I would like to see traps listed first in the view command, specifically the
closest one in front of you should be mentioned first. Could this be done?
