You can post practicly anything you wish, personal or otherwise, and when you 
post something, you can choose the type of license you want to use. For 
example, you can either choose that the files be in the public domain, or if 
you prefer that restrictions be placed on the files, where as telling people 
what they can or can't do with the files. Here's a couple of links of

trouble with yetti microphone direct monitoring

Hi everyone,
Hope you can help. My friend Jay is no longer able to hear direct monitoring
from his Yetti microphone. He had changed the some of the settings in the
recording devices portion of windows in order to record both his voice and
his screen reader at the same time. Once his recording session was
completed, however, he found that he can't hear direct monitoring via the
Yetti. He's tried unplugging the mike and plugging it back in, but no dice.
The mike itself works, its just that he can't hear himself speaking through
his headphones. The volume of the yetti's headset option is turned all the
way up, and his microphone settings within the computer itself hasn't been
changed. Any ideas as to what he can do to get the direct monitoring in the
Yetti to work again?

Hello everyone,

It's possible that someone on the list may have already asked this question
some time ago, but I have no way to confirm that. Anyway, I'd like to
install Virtual Audio Cable on my computer to check it out and see what its
like. However, while researching about the software, I'm a little concerned
about the complexity of the process. People online have been saying that
uninstalling VAC is not quite as straight forward as uninstalling other
programs is. I've heard, that Virtual Audio Cable is one of those programs
that likes to spread its particles all around the windows operating system,
which means having to messa round with the system registry and/or installing
some third-party software just to get rid of it. Have any of you ever tried
using this program? Is it really as difficult to uninstall as some people
say it is? I just thought I'd find out now, before installing some piece of
software to which I won't be able to uninstall very easily. Thanks in
advance for any help.

Hi Joanne,
I think I've found a solution to help. I've had this same issue at one time
where every time skype would ring, my audio would lower. To fix this, if you
can get to your sis tray, arrow to the right, until you get to something
that says speakers/headphones or speakers. This is where your ducking
options are. Press the applications key, and arrow down to sounds and press
enter. Then tab till you get to a tab control box and arrow to the right
till you hear communications. Next, tab until you get to a group of radio
buttons, and arrow down to the do nothing option. Then tab to ok, and you
should be all set. Hope this helps.

Now I remember many of us struggling many years ago with the problem I'm
having, usually happening with the old real player but also with some winamp
output plug-ins.  So I'm surprised that it's happening and I know my
settings are right.  Jaws is set to allow other audio and my players are no
different than they've always been.  But whether it's Jaws 16 or 18--the 2 I
have on my windows 7 system--if I play an audio file and use Jaws, the Jaws
volume goes down super low.  I don't have loud volume on my media players
mostly because I want to work with other programs while listening to music.
But as soon as an audio file starts I can barely hear Jaws.  The file stops;
Jaws comes right back up to the right volume.  This is a dell system with
real tech high definition, and between Jaws going out and the shaky type
sound of the files I don't know if it's sound card or external speakers or
maybe Jaws needs repair?  And it's no respecter of media players--VLC,
Winamp and Windows Media Player all cause Jaws to lower volume.

Would appreciate any thoughts.

trouble with combine Classic home cynema

Hello everyone,

Yes I know I spelled the name of the software wrong, but hopefully you'll
get the point. I'm currently using CCCP which is the accessible
software-based dvd player for windows. I'm currently using version 2015,
which is the latest version. However, when I play a dvd, I find that the
stop and play/pause commands do not work. In fact, they are all disabled.
When I insert a dvd, I give the computer time to recognize it, then I start
CCCP. I choose my optical drive, press slect folder, and the dvd starts to
play. If I try to either stop it or move to the next chapter, nothing
happens. It appears that the only way I can stop the dvd, is to press the
eject button on my drive. Have any of you ever experienced this? At first I
thought that it was a compatible issue between the software and Windows, but
there is no problem from what I can tell. There's no error message. Can
anyone tell me what's going on? Is there anything I can do to fix this?

There's really no way to get away from  a playlist in winamp. If you have
winamp set as your default player, of course, every time you press enter on
a file, it will play through winamp automaticly. However, the next time you
run winamp, the last file you entered will  show in the playlist.

I've been using Winamp for many many years now quite happily.

I don't create play lists, tag files or use anyplug ins.

All I do is make Winamp my default audio player and either press the enter
key on an album or within Applications, select play in winamp.

So I need a version of Winamp for another computer and I've no longer got
the softwear.

I got a copy of Winamp Version 5.... and installed it and straight away
it wanted me to create a playlist and it's seems that I can't get away from
this feature by disabling it.

Or am I wrong?

I have a friend whose interested in getting a digital recorder, she 
doesn't have an iPhone, at least not yet.  She would prefer to spend no 
more than $100 to $120 tops, and since she's also blind it would have to 
have some kind of voice guidance.  Barring that, she'd have to have 
someone go through the menus and learn them that way.  Is there such a 
recorder?  I remember back in he early 2000s, there were lots of 
recorders that you could use and they were really accessible, they were 
great for podcasting.  I'm not sure if such recorders exist nowadays, 
but it would be great.  I'm also kind of curious about this myself I 
have to be honest.  But if anyone has any ideas that'd be great!

I'm not sure why that is happening Don. I don't use Windows Live mail, and I 
don't ever send attachments through the list. In fact, I don't think we're even 
supposed to do that. All messages I send to the list, are sent via my aol 
account, which is running through Microsoft Outlook 2013.

Hi everyone,

My friend Jay is trying to build a playlist in Win amp. But, for some
reason, files keep playing automatically when they're not supposed to.

Here's what he does:

1.   He presses l to open the add file to playlist dialog

2.   Navigates to the drive and folder where the file of interest is
located

3.   Presses enter on the filename.

When he presses enter on the file he wants to add to the list, the file is
added to the playlist like normal, however, the weird thing is that it
starts playing automatically. This is not supposed to happen. Also, if two
or more files are in the playlist, only one of them is actually showing. The
first file in the list shows, but files 2 and beyond don't show in the list.
Any ideas as to how he can fix this? Thanks.

They can convert m4v files for you. The only downside to using this site, is
that if you have lots of m4v files, you'll have to upload them one at a
time. All you have to do, is go to the above site, upload an m4v file,
select what format you'd like it to be converted to, type in your email
address then press upload. Within a matter of minutes, you'll receive an
email from the site with a link leading to the file in accessible format
that you can download to your computer. Hope this helps. Oh by the way, it
doesn't cost anything to use this service.

What file format are these files in? There's a video converter known as the
free video audio pack. Its quite interesting in the way you access it. You
simply download it and to open the program, all you have to do is click on
the .exe file you've downloaded and then click on the aps icon to open the
list of converters. I believe it contains 25 different video converters as
well as an audio converter. If you'd like, I could email a copy to you. I
have it on my machine, and it works wonders.

Hello everyone,

I currently use the built-in soundcard on my Yeti usb microphone to monitor
and listen to music as its playing over the air during my radio show.
However, once in a while, the Yeti's soundcard makes a crackling sound. I've
had this microphone for four years now, and it still works great. I'm
looking for a simple plug n play usb external soundcard that I can have on
hand, should in case anything goes wrong with the Yeti's soundcard. I have
both 2.0 and 3.0 usb ports on this computer. My version of Windows is 8.1,
and this is an HP desktop pc, running Window-Eyes as the screen reader.

I honestly don’t know the answer to that question, the Microphone itself would 
be I should think given the various patterns that can be used but the output of 
the computer is just plain stereo and can’t be changed as far as I know.

accessible audio converter software

Hello everyone,

Is there a piece of software that's accessible, that allows one to convert
wma files to mp3? I know I can always do this through an online source, but
sometimes this is not always feesable. A software program that allows for
converting wma and other unusual audio filetypes to mp3 can come in very
handy at times. So I was just wondering if such a thing existed. Thanks.

account to use the paid version. When you go to the web site, you'll be 
accessing the free version of zamzar by default so you won't have to worry. In

questions about microsoft sound mapper

Could someone please explain in plain english, what exactly is the microsoft
sound mapper? 

Up until a couple days ago, I've discovered that within my list of output
devices within my screen reader, among certain other programs, (you know,
the list where you can choose which soundcard you want to use for certain
things, there's something called microsoft sound mapper. What does this
(sound mapper) thing do? Is it a soundcard? During my radio show a couple
nights ago, I had an emergency, and therefore, had to fire up nvda to use as
a backup screen reader. Like I said, I only found out about microsoft sound
mapper a couple days ago, and so this is also when I found out that nvda was
using sound mapper for it's sound output. So I'm wondering, when you tell
your screen reader and/or media player to use sound mapper for its output,
especially when you're in a broadcasting situation, can listeners hear it?
and what about the computer sounds that we all hear everyday, such as the
windows startup and shutdown sounds,  skype sounds and that ding ding sound
that windows 7 and 8.1 makes to indicate that a download has completed.
Where do those sounds come from?

Hello again everyone,

I finally got Winamp 5.666 back up and running again, however, now I'm in
the process of trying to setup my encoders in sam. The only problem is, you
know how when you select the new ins options from the applications menu and
choose mp3 and mp3 pro? This is where I'm having trouble. There's usually a
focuss issue with that window, and so what I do is press spacebar on mp3 and
mp3 pro, and then using my numpad arrows, I press numpad 3 to move the
virtual mouse down to the bottom right, then press insert numpad 7 until I
get to the ok an cancel buttons, and left-click on ok, which normally takes
me into the next window, where I can select options for the server
information, converter, streaming bit rate ETC. However, for some reason, I
can't seem to get to the ok or cancel buttons. I know that they are present
on the screen, but I can seem to get to them accessibly. What can I do?

Hi Joe,
Got everything back up and running now. Something nutty was happening with
the encoders somewhere. The general manager at ACB Radio tapped into my
computer using Jaws and got everything straightened out.

here's what I do.

Start the sam encoders.

press the application key, and select new ins.
If you have an encoder set already, and focus is on that one, select config.

If you are on a new instance, then as you have done, select mp3 and mp3 pro.
Then after hitting the ok button, You should be in a  converter window,
which is one of three.the other tabs are server details and stream archive.

If you don't see these tab controls, then something may be wrong with the
installation.

Did you enter the authorization key or whatever they call it in sam?

heck's going on! I've tried rebooting my computer, thinking that maybe it
will help, but yet I'm still getting the same result. I begin officially
broadcasting on ACB Radio Interactive tomorrow night, and I can't afford to

Yetti. It offers four different pickup patterns, so you can adjust the way it 
picks up your voice. It also has a way for you to monitor what's being picked

Hi. I have done voice-over work as well and I am a Goldwave user.
I am a former Sound Forge user but SF had too many bells and whistles for me. I 
do all of my editing (and other folks as well) with Goldwave.
I used SF a long time ago (before they got bought by Soni) and I saw more and 
more accessibility slipping away.
Once I found out about how Goldwave was really implementing accessible 
features, and the fact that they seemed to actually care... I went with 
Goldwave.
Just as an example. I had a sighted co-worker at the radio station who always 
made these little grunts and groans after she would read a sentence. It was 
very anoying to have to sift through every sentence and cut out these little 
(sometimes erotic sounding sighs and moans) So, I don't think it really matters 
what program your using as long as you're good at editing and you have the ear 
and the patience to do it.
I don't really know if my reply is any help, but there it is anyway!
SF and Goldwave are great products. I'm not trying to start any kind of 
debate...
Just saying I was a Sound Forge user many many years ago and I have been a 
proud GW user too!
And, while reading this I have one more suggestion for those editors out 
there. There is such a thing as over editing. Some people get too friendly with 
deleting, and lose the rhythm of natural speech.
I recall listening to a Main Menu show a few years back where someone decided 
to cut out all breaths and pauses, they made the presenter sound like a robot 
and it was unlistenable.
So, just a heads-up!

Danny, there's no difference in editing capabilities between sound forge and 
goldwave. As someone else has said, if you are picking up mouth noises and 
noise from your braille display, perhaps hyou should think about swithcing to a 
different microphone which might be lsee sensitive and have a different pickup 
pattern. For example, a dynamic microphone with a cardioid pattern might help 
in this situation.

ggetting rid of annoying echo

Hello everyone,

Due to finantial reasons, I have to use Winamp and that line plugin, where
you have to press control L, type line colon slash slash, press enter to add
it to your playlist and then when the track stops, it automatically turns on
your mike. Then when you're done, you just press enter on your next song to
turn off the mike and play the track. This is easy enough, but the downside
to it is, that each time you speak, you get that annoying feedback of your
voice echoing back at you. I find this very distracting. I know there's a
plugin that you can get, that prevents this from happening, because once
installed, when you turn your mike on in the manner in which I described
above, you hear your voice, but it comes through instantly. There's no echo.
What's that plugin called? And can it be found anywhere online? I do plan to
switch over to station playlist at some point, but even then, I'm still
likely to run into that echo when I broadcast. Thanks in advance for any
suggestions.

external usb soundcards

Hello everyone,

I'm in the process of getting a dj position on ACB Radio Interactive. During
the first half of the audition prep, I found out that my computer only has
one soundcard, and as a result, when I broadcast, my computer sounds and
screen reader sounds would end up being broadcasted too. The person training
me suggested that an external usb soundcard would solve this issue. Can any
of you recommend a good plug n play usb soundcard that would work with the
blue yeti usb mic, winamp 5.666, and windows 8.1? For anyone who has ever
used multiple soundcards in an audio project involving talking to someone on
skype, while broadcasting music over the web, do you know if external usb
soundcards have a setting, something like an audition channel of sorts, that
would allow you to take skype calls without broadcasting them online?  If
technology permits, I'm hoping to be able to play music over the air, and
take requests via skype off the air. I hope that makes at least a little
sense. I'm new to broadcasting online, so my question may sound a little
confusing to some people. Thanks in advance for any help.

called DocuScan Plus. It's heard to be very accurate and you can scan books
or any printed materials with it. The coolest thing about it is, that you
can even save the stuff you scan as a braille file, that you can either copy
to your braille notetaker, if you have one, or send it to a braille printer
if you have one. one.

using tapin to record from other sites

Hello fellow pc-audio listers:

Does anyone know how to get Tapin Radio to record live streams that come
from other sites to which are not part of the Tapin Radio database?

For example, the local church in my area has a live stream of their cermon
that broadcasts on their site. I can not find the site in Tapin's database,
so if I go directly to the site itself and get the live stream playing, is
there a way to get Tapin to record that stream? Thanks.

getting the enque and play option to show in windows 8.1

Hello fellow pc-audio listers:

Barry, if you're still part of the list, those options you gave me to get a
newly inserted track to insert directly below the currently playing one,
worked like a charm when I had windows xp. But now, I've got windows 8.1,
and things are a bit different. I don't know if you've switched to this
operating system yet or not, but in case you have, do you know how to get
the en q n play in winamp option to show up in the context menu in windows
8.1 like it did in windows xp? I've got the checkboxes you discussed under
the shell options checked as they are supposed to be in order to make this
work, but being that Microsoft has included the ribbon everywhere, it kind
of complicates things. Thanks and I hope all of you have a safe and happy
Christmas and happy new year.

My name is Mike. I'm the one who sent you the step-by-step instructions for
burning an audio cd in Windows Media Player. In addition, here are the
directions again. 
1. Insert a blank cdr disk into the cd/dvd drive of your computer. If you
get a
message  that asks you what you want the computer to do, just press alt f 4
to close
this windo  w.
 2. Now start up windows explorer by pressing windows key and the letter E.
Once
open, arrow up and down through the list of drives and folders until you
find the
folder where your mp3 files are located and press tab to open it.
 3. select everything in that folder by pressing control A then press
control c to
copy them to the clipboard.
 4. Press shift-tab to close this window and arrow down to the burner drive,
and
press tab to open that drive.
 5. Now, press control V to paste everything in.
 6. Press the applications key to bring up the context menu and press T.
This will
bring up the burn wizard. You'll be asked to name the cd. The default name
will be
the current date unless you decide to give the cd a different name.
 7. Then tab to the next button and press it.
 8. A new window will come up asking you if you want to make an audio cd, or
a data
cd. Windows Media Player is normally set to audio cd by default. If it
isn't, then
use your arrow keys to navigate to the audio cd option. Then press tab until
you
get to next and press enter or press spacebar.
 9. At this point, Windows media player itself will open.
 10. The easiest way to get to the start burn button, is to shift tab 9

you find the burn button, press spacebar and wait. Do not do anything until

Its quite simple actually. All you have to do is the following:

accessible ripper software for audio cds

software program for ripping audio cds that's screen reader friendly with
Window-Eyes? I used to use Windows Media Player, but the version that comes

Where did the Internet radio option go?

Just upgraded to the latest version of the Itunes software. But, when I
arrow through the list of buttons, I don't see the option for Internet
Radio. You know, Adult alternative, smooth jazz with ace radio,
college/university Etc. Is there a setting I have to change? Or did Apple
decide to take Internet radio away.

Sorry if I spelled your name incorrectly, I went back into Itunes while I
still had your email reply opened, and as it turns out, Internet radio was
unchecked along with many other options by default. I checked the (internet
radio) button, and the treeview containing the various genres is now
showing. I checked, and I too have version 11.4.
 Just installed it this morning, and it installed like a charm on my new hp
pc, which is currently running windows 8.1. Thanks for your help.

The Internet Radio button - according to my Windows 7 computer running

The next thing I would check is to see that Internet Radio is actually 
showing on your screen, to do this go into general Preferences from the

accessible blogging site for posting audio

Good evening fellow listers:

I'm thinking about getting into broadcasting on ACB radio Interactive
sometime in the near future. I plan to record my live shows as they're going
out on air, so that I can then upload them as a podcast somewhere online, so
that people can go and listen to and/or download them. People have said,
that you can use blogger to post podcast/show notes, and use ourmedia.com,
to upload the actual audio files, which in tern would present you with a
link leading to the audio file to which you can paste into the blog. This
link, is what people would use to download the file to their computers. This
much I understand. However, I've heard, that blogger isn't all that user
friendly, and ourmedia.com has a bad habbit of not making uploaded files
available right away and once something is uploaded, there's no garuntee as
to how long the file will remain on the site. So, I was wondering, if there
was an accessible site where I could upload podcasts, and add show notes all
in one place? Of course, being that I don't yet have a show slot, I won't
have to deal with any of this just yet, but I just wanted to get an idea as
to where I could post mp3 copies of my radio show, if I decide to archive
it. Thanks.

Hey Mike. I looked into Radionomy several years ago. I'm calling on my
memory to describe my experience with them, so I could be recalling small
details inaccurately, but here's how I remember my experience with them.

I found accessibility there to be a bit awkward, at least for me,  but
manageable. Their tech support answered questions promptly and helpfully. As
I recall, at the time that I checked into it, they allowed free use of their
service for six months. If, during that time, they were able to sell
advertising on the station in question, then you could continue using the
service for free. If they could not sell advertising after the six month
period, you would need to pay to continue using the service. 

I believe I am correct in saying that they now own Shoutcast, which I will
probably be using when I sign my own station on in a few weeks.

I wonder if there is an install.exe located in the Chrome directory.
Also, have you tried the Install feature on Ccleaner? It seems to do pretty
well.
On another topic, I will go to the Adobe site and update Flashplayer that
way. Do you have any idea what benefit it is to have FlashPlayer on my
system, by the way?
I suspect that Google Chrome pays Adobe for the privillege of bundling
themselves with installs. Those requests to install Toolbars which often
occur when installing a program probably use the same strategy. That is how
Adobe funds FlashPlayer, by getting money from Google. At least that is what
I suspect?
Do you remember me from Batavia, by the way?

I got a message on my computer the other day, telling me to update Adobe
Flash player. However, due to the Player's horribly inaccessible installer,
I wasn't able to activate the button necessary  to install the update.Is
there an accessible way that I can update Adobe Flash Player without having

Hello everyone,

Have any of you ever heard of or used a program called Voxal Voice Changer?
The program is available for either free or purchase from NCH. I've heard,
that many of NCH's products whether free or fee-based, are very
user-friendly with a screen reader. I was just wondering, if anyone has any
experience with this program or knowse of a program where I can make simple
voice tracks by recording my voice speaking something, and then turning the

mp3 skype recorder success

Well, I finally got the program installed. From what I can see, the program
doesn't appear to have a menu bar. When you press the alt key with the
program running, all that comes up, is the system menu, allowing you to
change the size of the window but there doesn't appear to be any menu of any
kind. How do I tell mp3 skype recorder to save recordings in a folder of my
own choosing rather than the default folder it has chosen for me? If it
should become necessary, and I didn't want a particular skype call to be
recorded, how do I turn the automatic recording on and off? and is there a
way to adjust the quality of the mp3 files that mp3 skype recorder records?
Finally, when making a recording of a Skype call, I read an article online,
that states that you should fire up Skype first and then the program. Just
for clairification, is it necessary to have mp3 Skype recorder running while
Skype is running? Or will the program just kick in on its own.

trouble installing mp3 skype recorder

I'm atempting to install mp3 skype recorder. However, every time I press
enter on the icon containing the .msi file extention, I keep getting a
message telling me that I have to first install something called
Microsoft.net framework version 4.0 or higher in order to continue with the
installation.  Being that I'm an average everyday computer user, who doesn't
mess around with my operating system, I have no idea as to what this all
means. What is Microsoft.net Framework 4.0? Why do I need this? and where
can I get it? Is it possible to install this so-called Microsoft Framework
thing, without messing up my computer? I know that this may sound somewhat
silly, but as I said, I'm no computer geek and I'm not comfortable tampering
with Windows in a technical manner. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

MP3 skype recorder is a free neat program that will perfectly meet your
needs! I have been using it for years now. Suffice that you allow it to
record from skype and you will be good to go.

questions about the setup program for mp3 skype recorder

program to which you'd use to download and install the software, has a .msi

use to record Skype calls? I'm looking for something, that will start
recording automatically, when either the answer button is pressed, or when
the alt-page up hotkey is used, and then stop recording, when the call is
ended when either myself or the person I'm talking to presses either the
(end call) button or the iquivilent hotkey (alt page down.) As for recording

I thought it was only Enqueue and Play you were missing, but you also don't
have any of the default Winamp entries such as Play in Winamp, Enqueue in
Winamp and Add to Winamp's Bookmark list.

In the File Types options, ensure that Show Winamp actions in the Folder
Context Menus is checked. If that doesn't do it, let me know.

that when they used this option with XP, it worked fine. I have XP, so I'm
not sure why things aren't working for me. I've pasted the blog posting
below so that you can see what I'm referring to. I'm just an average
computer user, so I don't really mess around with my operating system's
settings. The reason I'm trying to get Winamp to place a track directly
below an already existing one, is because I'm in the process of trying to
get a dj position with ACB Radio, and they use Winamp for broadcasting.
Being able to insert tracks erlier in the playlist rather than at the bottom
of it, is ecential, especially if people email me with requests. This way,
I'll be able to play what they ask for in a more reasonable time frame
without them having to wait through multiple songs. It seems like it should
be a simple thing to figure out, but then you know how technology is (smile)
Hope the blog post will make at least a little sense. Thanks for taking the
time to assist me with this.

Enqueue In Winamp not showing in context menu for files - SOLUTION
I used to have XP for quite some time and the enqueue in winamp used to show
up in
the context menu just fine. Then I moved on to Windows 7 and the enqueue in
winamp
option disappeared from the context menu even I had setup winamp correctly
for it.
After doing some digging, I narrowed down all the possible causes for this
behavior
to one program and one simple solution to bring the Enqueue in Winamp back
to the
context menu. And that one program which is messing the enqueue in winamp in
the
context menu is Windows Media Player. It seems that somehow it uses brute
force to
take over all enqueue options for audio files to itself. (Or the context
menu simply
has hardcoded limit how many options it can show in the first section) But
whatever
the case is the solution is here.
BEHOLD THE SIMPLE SOLUTION:
1.
 At first you want to make sure your winamp is setup correctly. That means
you have
Show Winamp in the folder context menus in Windows Explorer option
selected under
Options - Preferences - File Types.

 Then go to the Shell Options and make sure you have Enqueue in Winamp
selected for
files. In the following picture you can also see that even the options are
selected
the Enqueue in Winamp isn't showing on the context menu.

3. The you need to follow this simple guide how to disable Windows Media
Player aka
WMP from showing in the context menu.

from the
following picture the Enqueue in Winamp now shows up correctly in the
Window's context
menu and we also got rid of that WMP's own unneeded context menu entries.

IF
 you want to keep the WMP entries in the context menu, I don't know a
solution for
that. It might require going to registry files and tweaking context menu
from there
to give room for Winamp's context menu entry or simply removing the WMP's
brute force
method of grapping all the enqueue options for audio files to itself.
Whatever the
case is I'm not going to cover that in this solution.
I hope it works for you too as it did for me.

Try the following. If it doesn't work, please let me know and I'll check to
see if there are other relevant settings I have missed.

1. Start Winamp.

2. Press ctrl+p for preferences.

3. Arrow to the Shell Options.

4. Ensure that:
Add 'Enqueue  Play' to Winamp's associated file types is checked Set
'Enqueue  Play' as the default file action is not checked Add files into
the queue for delayed playback is not checked Insert enqueued files after
the currently playing file is checked Leave playback on the currently
playing file is checked Start Winamp playing if it is not already is checked
Enqueue  Play in Winamp is selected from the list

5. Tab to Close and press enter.

6. Start Windows Explorer, open a folder containing MP3 files and arrow to
an MP3 file.

7. Press alt.

8. Arrow to Enqueue and Play in Winamp, and press enter. For me, it is not
with the other Winamp options. It is after Open.

This should place the selected track after the one which is currently
playing.

currently playing one in Winamp. Someone on the Pc-audio list, had given me

in their email message, explaining how to get Winamp to insert a new track
below the one that's already playing in the playlist. However, the (enqueue
and play in Winamp) option doesn't appear anywhere in the context menu of
Windows Explorer for some weird reason. The list member said to go to the
shell options under the preferences treeview/dialogue, and checked the check
boxes for add enqueue play to Winamp associated filetypes, insert enqueue
files after the currently playing file, and leave playback on the currently
playing file. Once that was done, I loaded my playlist of songs, pressed
enter on the first song in the playlist and The song plaied as normal. While
it was playing, I pressed Windows key and E, to open windows explorer and
navigated to the folder where the file I wanted to add was located and
highlighted the file. But when I pressed alt F to bring up the file menu, I
did not see anything that said  Enqueue and play in Winamp under the file
menu. I even tried going directly to the (my music) folder, which is where
all my music is kept, highlighted a file I wanted to add to the playlist,
and tried pressing both alt F and using the applications key, but no matter
which method I tried, the enqueue and play in Winamp icon was still no where
to be found. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Has anyone else ever
had this issue with Winamp? Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Yup, Dave is right. If you're simply using Winamp to tag and play files, you
can do that totally free. But if you want to rip or burn cds you'll have to
pay for the pro version, I believe that it costs something like $15 for the
pro version of Winamp.

a new computer in my future

copying music onto a thumb drive to play in the car

Hello fellow pc-audio listers:
I'd like to download some music to put onto a thumb drive to which my 
Parents can play in the car. Unlike my Dad's car, my Mom's car doesn't 
have a cd player, and when we go on road trips to Canada, we often use 
her car. So I was just wondering, once I have the songs I want 
downloaded to the computer, do I have to do anything special to the 
files in order to get them to play correctly in the car? Should I save 
all the files as one long .m3u file or can I just put the files on the 
drive as individual mp3s. The way the thumb drive in my Mom's car 
works, is simple. All you have to do is put the thumb drive in, and the 
music starts playing. Then, when you're finished listening, you simply 
pull the drive out and the radio starts playing again. Cool huh? Thanks

using Media Player Home cinema

Hey everybody,
I just installed the Media Player Home Cinema dvd player from 
ninite.com. I've heard, that this dvd player software is extremely user 
friendly with screen readers. For any of you who use it, is there a 
help section, that explains how to play a dvd? and does this software 
work with optical drives? the drive on my computer, is a dvdrw drive, 
but in the computer manual they refer to it as an optical drive. I'm 
assuming that this means that you can play many different types of 
disks?

setting Windows Media Player as the default player

Hello everyone,
I just upgraded from Itunes 10 to Itunes 11. However, I've found that 
now by default, whenever I play an mp3 file, Windows chooses Itunes as 
the default player automatically, and I don't want that. How do I 
change things so that Windows Media Player is the default player? I 
know that there's an option within the start menu that says, set 
program access and defaults), but I don't remember the steps to adjust 
the default player. How do I do that? I'm running Windows xp Home

erasing multiple files from the music library in Itunes

Hello fellow pc-audio listers:
Does anyone know how to delete multiple files from the Itunes music 
library? Although I could press delete on each one, it would take quite 
some time, as I have 1,303 files, and I'd like to be able to delete 
multiple files at once. Is there a way to do this from the keyboard? 
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I'm currently using Itunes

version 11 is out now, but after listening to a tutorial about it, 
version 10 sounds like the most easiest to use to start off, being that 
I'm totally new to Itunes and therefore, no absolutely nothing about 
it.. When I first enter Itunes, I see the treeview, containing options 
for streaming, library ETC. I've found that Itunes also has a standard 
toolbar, which is awsome. However, when I go into the help area, that's 
where things get a little fuzzy. Could someone please explain how to 
use Itunes help? When I go into Itunes help, I see the following Items:

1. a button labeled (print options)
2.  an edit box where you can type in something, followed by a list of 
options, the options include:

A Itunes overview
B. Import music, video and more
C. Learn about the Itunes store
D. Itunes in the cloud
E. Listen and watch
F. Organize your Itunes library
G. Sync your Ipod, I phone, or Ipad
H. Share music and video
I. Manage your media files
J. More resources
K. The Itunes Icon
This list is followed by what I'm guessing to be a heading that's 
called (Itunes Help) which is then followed by directions that tell you 
that you can either click on a topic on the left or type in the search 
box above the list. Then at the very bottom of the page, is the company 
name which is Apple Inc and the words All rights reserved, and that's 
all. If I type something into the search box above all this, it appears 
that nothing happens. But if I press tab, I'm placed into a listbox, 
which Window-Eyes does not read. It simply says that it's a listbox and 
nothing more. If I try to arrow up and down with either the numpad or 
regular cursors, I get no verbal feedback. Am I missing something? The 
good part is, that I was able to get into the Itunes store, search for 
an album and listen to a few song samples and they sounded great. The 
only thing that's throwing me off, is how to use the Itunes help. Any 
assistance would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.
