Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
Is there any possibility to change the sorting order of the Spotify playlists when using Spotty? It seems as if they are sorted by date of creation, which is a bit inconvenient when the number of Spotify playlists increases. A possibilty to sort them alphabetically instead would be really nice :) Jogga's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=39448 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111923 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
I was a bit curious, and due to the recent discussion about streaming AAC using Spotty, I thought I would try to see if I could create a custom convert rule for SPT->AAC that could be used by Spotty - as an experiment. Again, this is not an important issue, but I was curious nevertheless... In a nutshell I could not get it to work, and I am stumped. I tried using both faac and ffmpeg to do the spt->aac transcoding, and I encountered essentially the same failure in both cases: the conversion appears to be taking place, but not in "real-time." The conversion of each track in a Spotify playlist begins, at least I see thousands of frames converted, but they are not streaming to the player. I don't see error messages, I just see the player jump from track to track, attempting to play a few seconds each time, before jumping to the next one in the list. There is most likely something quite basic here that I do not understand: spt aac * * # RT:{START=--start-position %s} [spotty] -n Squeezebox -c "$CACHE$" --single-track $URL$ --bitrate 320 --disable-discovery --disable-audio-cache $START$ | [faac] -r -P -b 320 -o - - The rule for using ffmpeg to do the transcoding to AAC is considerably more complex, and also appears to be transcoding successfully, but the end result is the same, in that nothing is being piped or flushed out of the transcoder in real-time. *Living Room:* SB Touch + DIY PSU > CI Audio VDA.2 DAC + VAC.1 PSU > VRX.1 cables > Emotiva XSP-1 Gen 2 preamp + XPA-DR2 amp > Blue Jeans cables > B 804 speakers *Laptop:* System76 Galago + Ubuntu 16.04 + Squeezelite + Vivaldi/Material Skin > Emotiva Little Ego DAC > Grado PS500 headphones *Bedroom:* RPi Zero W + Squeezelite > miniBOSS DAC HAT > Bose SoundLink Revolve *Phone:* Pixel 3a + SB Player + Material APK > Senn IE80 earbuds *Server:* Puget Systems Serenity + Ubuntu 18.04 + LMS 8.2 Ron F.'s Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5616 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111923 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
A few days ago I had the problem where it says I should get a client ID. As I assumed it was related to that I just changed to new Pi 4 server I asked about it in this thread: https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?113512-ANNOUNCE-piCorePlayer-7-0-0=1001832=1#post1001832 After reading the replies I understod that that it was related to the client ID. When I tried Spotify later it worked as usual. Can this problem come and go? Is the general recommendation now to get a client ID, even if Spotify works now? When I looked at settings for Spotty now I found something I haven't seen before. Next to my account it says "Import" and I can choose Yes or No (it's set to No). What is this? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
Him I just wanted to say that I've been suffering quite a lot of problems with Spotty and especially using Spotify Connect with LMS on Windows. It's never been stable. I finally had time to deinstall the plugin, delete all the folders and to start from scratch. I've also added my own Spotify Client ID. And now everything is beautifully working. I started from the initial Spotty version, so presumably some gunk had built up in the settings. Worth a try if you are suffering. Thanks a lot Michael! It is simply converted to FLAC to make it possible for all squeeze devices to play the stream. The FLAC stream is still the same underlying 320kbps Ogg stream in a FLAC wrapper. p.s. The likelihood of being able to detect the difference in a 320kbps Ogg stream and a 256 AAC stream is probably zero, unless the volume of the two streams is quite different. Or there is something odd being done in the decoding, etc. In sum, a high bit rate mp3 file, Ogg Vorbis file, and AAC file should be transparent to the listener. *Home:* VBA2.5 4TB -or- rPi4B-8GB/pCP7.x/4TB>LMS 8.1.x>Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio (all ethernet) *Cottage:* rPi4B-4GB/pCP7.x/4TB>LMS 8.1.x>Touch>Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (Radio WIFI) *Office:* Win10(64)>foobar2000 *The Wild: *rPi3B+/pCP4.0, hifiberry Dac+Pro, 4TB USB (LMS & Squeezelite) *Controllers:* iPhone11 & iPadAir3 (iPeng), CONTROLLER, Material Skin, or SqueezePlay 7.8 on Win10(64) *Files:* -Ripping-: dbpoweramp > FLAC; -Post-rip-: mp3tag, PerfectTunes, TuneFusion; -Streaming:- Spotify garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111923 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
Generally earlier spotty showed in LMS streaming as Ogg Vorbis at 320kbits but now every track shows as -705kbps CBR, Ogg Vorbis (Spotify) (Converted to FLAC)-. I assume that even though this looks like it is a higher bitrate, it won't offer any improvement as the original stream is at 320 kbps. Also why is it necessary to do the conversion now anyway? The library I'm using (librespot) doesn't support Ogg direct output, but would convert everything to PCM. This in turn is losslessly compressed using flac by LMS, to save bandwidth and buffer requirements on the player. As you say: doesn't change a bit about the sound quality, the transcoding is only required due to some limitations. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
Sorry to be a bit slow on this - I did try and follow the recent posts but I'm still not clear. I used to Stream Spotify Connect to a Chromecast Audio and was reliably informed that Spotify doesn't officially support streaming to Chromecast Audio. In the Spotify Android app the google hardware shows up as *Google cast* rather than *Connect*. Spotify converts their stream to AAC (as used in spotify the web player). This casting at AAC 256kbit/s is inferior to regular Spotify Connect of 320 kbits/s. Having played around with it a bit I personally find the AAC stream from Spotty via Spotify Connect (which is supported natively by the Marantz) According to https://support.spotify.com/en/article/high-quality-streaming/ AAC is only available in the web UI. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I assume then when using Spotty, slimserver will transcode the Spotify Ogg Vorbis stream to 705 kbps FLAC and stream that to the N6006 client. This is a reasonable outcome. Transcoding to AAC - another lossy format, can only result in degradation of the incoming stream. Looking at the slimserver convert.conf file, it does not appear there are any rules for transcoding to AAC, but I imagine a custom rule could be added using [sox] that would do this. It would have to be sox, as faac is not included in the slimserver package. *Living Room:* SB Touch + DIY PSU > CI Audio VDA.2 DAC + VAC.1 PSU > VRX.1 cables > Emotiva XSP-1 Gen 2 preamp + XPA-DR2 amp > Blue Jeans cables > B 804 speakers *Laptop:* System76 Galago + Ubuntu 16.04 + Squeezelite + Vivaldi/Material Skin > Emotiva Little Ego DAC > Grado PS500 headphones *Bedroom:* RPi Zero W + Squeezelite > miniBOSS DAC HAT > Bose SoundLink Revolve *Phone:* Pixel 3a + SB Player + Material APK > Senn IE80 earbuds *Server:* Puget Systems Serenity + Ubuntu 18.04 + LMS 8.1 Ron F.'s Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5616 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111923 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

These both show up in Spotty settings. However, I cannot search Spotify for music or artists from Spotty. I just realized this new feature and suspected it to be the culprit why i can´t show playlists anymore (in the homeautomation). Favs and Artists still work the same way as before. I don't know where you have to parse what, but relying on a title not having a colon seems like a rather vulnerable design. What if a playlist "ABBA: the last years" came along? Yeah, don't "like" it will fix it :-D. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
Hi there, i just realized (i don´t know since when exactly this happens) that all playlist in lms which are from spotify are getting a prefix "Spotify:" for example: "Spotify: ELECTRO" formerly (and still in Spotify) named just "ELECTRO" this seems nice but the colon completely destroys the usage for my homeautomation system. The colon is used as data-delimeter for the playlists. Anyone any idea how to circumvent the "Spotify:"-Prefix? thank you H. holle's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67122 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111923 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

In the Online Music Integration plugin, there's a Library View option - "Show only local album if you have another copy in your online music collection". Sometimes the Spotify copy of an album has a slightly different title which defeats it, but generally this works well. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
Hi, I'm a user of both Spotty and Material skin. Material skin offer a More-option on most elements, independent if there is any content to show or not. I found myself numerous time trying to access the More-options from the Spotty Search result view, but I get an empty list of More options. In the default skin there is not More-options available, so for none-material users this would not be a problem. If I however start playing a song from Spotty Search result view and then from the Playlist view select the More-option I get the More-option with all kinds of action like Title or Artist radio that I use a lot. I'm asking for Spotty to enable/present the More-options that are available in Playlist view also in the Spotty Search result view. It would benefit the user experience, but is not critical by any means. Thanks for all the good works! Hey Michael, I had some initial success with Spotty a few months ago, and got it set up for my daughter who is the main Spotify user. We have several SqueezeBox Radios and Spotify access would be a big benefit for their continued use at our house. However recently Spotty stopped working. On access at the radio, it says "Failed to get access token Please check Settings/Advanced/Spotty Spotify for Squeezebox in the web interface" Using the web interface, I have tried a few things...I have removed and re-added my Spotify account info. I have also created a client ID, although I am aware that might not be the solution for this issue. SO far I haven't had any success changing or fixing the behavior. Spotty suddenly lost the Spotify playlist structure, and showed just a long list of the playlist names. A complete 'clear and rescan' of LMS stopped as the Spotty playlist scan started with Media scan terminated unexpectedly (Scanning Progress) The scanning log is below. Any suggestions to restore the normal behaviour of Spotty would be most welcome.
