[OSM-talk-be] Maas/La Meuse disappearing...
Hi, The Maas River disappeared from the map :-) http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=50.61063lon=5.55003zoom=15layers=M It seems that the multipolygon is broken. This is due to a newby, which made some change yesterday: http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/changeset/14511386 I am examining the possibility to revert the whole change. I was thinking about correcting only the problem, but it seems complicated to me to examine all changes... So I found easier to revert the whole group. I am going to write to llnoxll to warn him on a friendly way :-) http://www.openstreetmap.org/user/llnoxll I will do this (revert + writing) this afternoon, but if someone feel more comfortable than me doing this, do not hesitate ! I'm thinking of how it represents the shoreline, and as one logical object rather than touching 'lakes'. And I'm sure I'm not the only one who has considered mapping roads as multilinestrings. I think Julien's approach is best with regards to repair: revert, teach the new user, and then let them make the edit in the right way. That treats the cause, not the symptom. - Jw --- Sent from a cell phone On Jan 4, 2013 1:22 PM, Ben Laenen benlae...@gmail.com wrote: On Friday 04 January 2013 13:09:02 Jan-willem De Bleser wrote: Just keep an eye on them, as Julien has done, and teach the new users about relations as needed. Hi, The guy split a outer-way into two parts, convert one parts to a road, and did not add the old part to the multipolygon. So, this was not closed any more. Anyone here worked with the diffs before? But does anyone else have the problem that, if you view edits within a certain area, it's so often filled up with bots (or sometimes users) doing global bug fixes? On 01/04/2013 10:13 AM, Alex Barth wrote: Pawel - This is great. What would it take to make this blazing fast? There is still a lot challenges ahead with performance such as: * On high zoom levels OWL API response time is acceptable most of the time but I only tested it with 1.5M changesets. Will it scale to 10 times that? I think it will (on high zoom levels) without major changes but if it doesn't then database schema needs to be adjusted (SP-GiST indexing maybe). * On low zoom levels there is a known issue with performance because a lot of changesets match and they need to then be sorted by timestamp to select the latest ones and the sorting right now does not use the index. I spoke with a Postgres guru on IRC and he gave me some hints which I still need to try out. * Client-side performance is still a challenge - I managed to kill Firefox a couple of times with the amount of changes that the code tried to show. There should probably be a limit of geometry features to be shown (plus it should be based on the browser you use) and some kind of warning and/or filtering of changes just like the Browse map data feature does it currently. * Another performance challenge is with processing history data and creating tiles. It used to take a long time but I optimized the hell out of the tiler code and now it can process about 500k changesets per 24 hours so in a month we would have the whole history (in theory, don't try this at home...). That's on the zark server with two cores. More core = more tiling jobs that can run efficiently so it should not be that bad after all (unless the database blows up). So to answer your question - mostly more testing and development is needed, for that I need time. Echoing Christian: where should we file bugs/suggestions? Re: [Talk-it] importare Poi da file csv in Josm
[Talk-at] burgenländische Landesstraßen
(http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/OSM_tags_for_routing/Access-Restrictions#Austria) - oder setzt du access=no + motor_vehicle=yes + moped=no + mofa=no + agricultural=no + snowmobile=no auf jeden einzelnen Autobahn-Way? -- Friedrich K. [Talk-br] evento do minc cartografias colaborativas
Re: [Talk-gb-westmidlands] SOTM 2013 list of tasks
Hi Brian, Happy to get involved where I can. Looking at the list things like Conference paraphernalia, Marketing/promotion, and AV would tend to suit. Can also help to organise coaches/transport for any trips we arrange. On Accommodation, what would be needed? Some items on the list are quite big and could do with a few people looking at them together. I'll try to make any meetings we organise (as part of mappa mercia or as ad hoc meetings). I'm also happy to help out where needed during the event itself. So I guess that covers Registration, Co-ordination of presentation material (including time before and after the weekend), and Venue Support. == Rob On 4 January 2013 12:48, Brian Prangle bpran...@gmail.com wrote: Hi everyone As promised - if you want to put your name forward for a task - now's your chance!
A pak učitě město Doba (silnice a budovy) - v druhé půlce ledna tam pořádáme velkou mapping party s místní univerzitou a lokálními a regionálními autoritami, takže bychom potřebovali mít nějaký základ.
