Hi Patrick, It’s nice to see your interest in XWiki :) While the xwiki.org project would be very happy to host you on myxwiki.org, I’ve also discussed with the XWiki SAS company (http://xwiki.com) which offers professional hosting and they’d be happy to offer a free hosting should you be interested (in recognition of your important in the open source world ;)). Register as an anonymous module. define(['jquery'], factory); } else { // Browser globals factory(jQuery); } }(function ($) { $.fn.jqueryPlugin = function () { // Put your plugin code here }; })); Is it enough to create a js-File like that and register it in the javascript.vm under 'paths:', or do i have to change more things in that file or somewhere else? (produced errors so far...) I found something about jquery in the require.js in the js-folder. Regards, Ruben ___ users mailing list users@xwiki.org http://lists.xwiki.org/mailman/listinfo/users

As soon as you added more ToDos to one page and you added this pages with the WYSIWYG editor it could be that all content after and including the todos itself are erased while saving If you switch before between the Wiki editor and WYSIWYG editor you see in the wiki editor that it is already missing. In the WYSIWYG editor all content is shown normally but not saved. That means. I create a page - add some todos - someone else edid this page and put some additional content over the WYSIWYG editor to the page and save it - all content behind the todo can get lost. I tried it with different pages and also with different content. I just can say that it is not related to the content before or after the todo. Does someone see that before? Thomas and I discussed this quickly and in our opinions we should instead create a small xwiki application to do that: * Add the ability to enter one’s location on his profile page on xwiki.org * Automatically put all filled user’s location in a map on a xwiki page (we can also use our user directory application to display user’s location in the livetable so that it can filtered by town/country for example). Hi Matthias, Right now you cannot achieve what you want with the {{include}} macro. The solution right now is to script this: {{velocity}} $xwiki.getDocument('Included').getTranslatedContent('fr') {{/velocity}} In this example I’m getting the content of the Included page in language ‘fr’ and I’m displaying it in the current page. Re: [xwiki-users] Using the Include macro across more than one Xwiki instance
Hi, I gather the term you’re looking for is called Transclusion (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transclusion). If it’s on the same wiki farm then ti’s achieved with the include macro as mentioned already. If on another wiki, this can be achieved using either the REST API to call XWiki or simply by using a URL. For example if you wish to get the HTML for the Playground’s Sandbox.WebHome page from the outside you’d call: http://playground.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/get/Sandbox/WebHome?outputSyntax=xhtml For more details, see http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/URL+resolution Thanks -Vincent On 14 Feb 2014 at 14:41:40, Joseph Potvin (jpot...@opman.ca(mailto:jpot...@opman.ca)) wrote: In general what I'm asking is: What presentation layer practices and particular Xwiki features might help to make one's own Xwiki-hosted content (which in my case involves management training materials) includable by others? Re: [xwiki-users] How to get permanent link of a page
Hi, Each page is internally stored in the database with an id. However that id is a computed id. It’s computed from: - the doc’s wiki - the doc’s space - the doc’s page - the doc’s language So if you rename a document for example, the computed id will be different. The goal with this was to have friendly URLs, i.e be able to load a doc from the database given it’s name. What we’d like to do in the future is to support redirecting to renamed documents automatically, see: http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-3622 Thanks -Vincent On 24 Feb 2014 at 19:06:13, 114 (ad...@114hareketi.org) wrote: Is there a way for retrieving a unique ID for a page and also there should be a URL for displaying the page with this unique ID. So if you add more than one {{container}} to the same page, they can't have a different number of columns ... For instance in my case I used the container macro in a Panel, with 2 columns - so I can never add more than 2 columns in other locations. Hi 1) You should check your tomcat install, there are several warnings/errors but they’re not the root cause of your issue 2) Initially it seems you tried to create a wiki without being logged in, not sure how this can happen… 3) At the end of the log you tried to create a “forum” subwiki and the error is very clear: Caused by: com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.MySQLSyntaxErrorException: Access denied for user 'xwiki'@'localhost' to database ‘forum' As Guillaume Fenollar mentioned in another email this means that you need to grant the ability to create schema to the xwiki user in mysql, see http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/InstallationMySQL Note: It would be nice if this could be done by the debian installer by default. @Thomas (the creator of this installer), any idea why it’s not done? I hope not. 4 years seem quite old, but in my opinion it's quite sad to see that many web apps have to drop support for so recent browsers versions, due to maintenance costs (though completely understandable). We could have imagined that a responsive js framework could gracefully manage when browser is not responsive (do you remember, when web sites could imagine that you didn't want to activate javascript and still work ? :) ). If the intention of these frameworks is to reach everyone everywhere from every device, then it would seem logical to manage every browser ;-) But I must say I'm not sure of what it means, or amount of work that would be needed. BR, Jeremie PS: my own computer is more than 4 years old :) 2014-03-11 20:03 GMT+01:00 Leonardo Kodato : I think if even google dropped support to IE8(in their apps), why would you maintain it? Besides, no one wants to make thousands of hacks just to support an old browser. And Xwiki is not just a wiki. Is a 2.0 Enterprise Wiki. IE8 doesn't sound well with 2.0 hahaha. Btw, 4 years is a lot of time. Who has a 4 year computer today? You lost some old browser users, but you win some android, iPad and Iphone users. That's is what I think as a user and a html developer. Thank you =). 2014-03-11 11:35 GMT-03:00 Ecaterina Moraru (Valica) : The current supported browser list is available here http://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Community/BrowserSupportStrategy Thanks, Caty On Tue, Mar 11, 2014 at 4:32 PM, Ecaterina Moraru (Valica) vali...@gmail.com wrote: Hi everyone, For the 6.x cycle ( http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Roadmaps/WebHome) we plan to develop a new skin Flamingo ( http://design.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Improvements/Skin4x ). One of the advantages of this skin is that is **responsive**. Currently IE8 doesn't natively support this functionality. I am wondering how many of you are using this browser and how difficult would be upgrade to a newer version of IE (IE10, IE11). IE8 was released in March 2009 (4 years ago) IE9 - March 2011 (2 years ago) IE10 - Sept 2012 (17 months ago) IE11 - Oct 2013 (4 month ago) Let me know of any other problems that could prevent us from dropping the IE8 support. It gives PR to your “Admin” user but if your Admin user is *local* to a subwiki it won’t have any effect since you need a global user to have PR on the farm to be able to have PR on a subwiki. Otherwise any local subwiki admin would be able to modify anything anywhere in the farm. I agree that an improvement would be to NOT show this column in the admin of subwikis.
