Hi,
Please can someone assist me in understanding what this error actually

Serouche,
Some time ago (about 2 to 2 2/1 years ago) I remember some issue with sybase
and Remedy 6.0 and it was a sybase issue (something about some libs that
were changed on a Sybase patch).
Maybe if you have a BMC support contract you can contact them and they could
look it up.

We had considered that, but stopped short of trying it. In SQL, for the
external table, under column properties it says data type = int, length =
4; in the Admin tool, it shows this field with a field length of 15. This is
how it's supposed to be, and it works this way on other servers, so we've

Anne,
I think you may be crossing things here.
You want the service target attached to the ticket based on some different
criteria (Priority, Support Group, for example).
When you start talking time you might want to look at the Mile Stones and
defining them from a stand point of time.

I haven't used SSRS much, but I do recall that it is more difficult to report

Remedy doesn't store foreign keys and such to relate to other tables in the
DBMS, rather storing relationships like that in the
Actually that's not what we are trying to do. What management wants to do is
make sure that a ticket is updated every 30 minutes. They want to have a
missed or met result of every 30 minute interval available. I don't think I
can do that with milestomes. So I need to start one target
Your criteria looks like it should be set in the Measurement Criteria:
Start When: $\TIMESTAMP$ ( 'Submit Date' + (30*60))
Stop When: 'Status' = Resolved
And the Milestones would be at:
'Status' Resolved
Maybe the Start When will work better as
$\TIMESTAMP$ = ( 'Submit Date' + (30*60))
Since
You should be able to set the milestone to repeat (and fire an action) every 30
minutes as long as the Execute If condition continues to be met.

Anne,
Actually that would be 1 Service Target with multiple Milestones.
As you can define a Milestone to start after a certain period of time and have
it repeat.
How about something like:
1 Service target

Repeats 10 times every 3 minutes
Execute
How does this give you a missed or met result any where in the SLM module that

ugg,
Ya that sounds like a report requirement.

I think this should work:
Goal: 1 hr.
Start When: 'Status' = New
Stop When: 'Status' = Resolved OR (($\TIMESTAMP$ ( 'Submit Date' +

For the second interval, and it will be:
Goal: 1 hr. 30 Min.
Start When: 'Status' = New
Stop

Thanks and I appreciate the quick answer. I do know that is not supported by

I would be on my own as far as BMC support is
And don't try to use it in production. Still significant performance

that QA is all VMs and Prod is native OS. Prod performance screams while QA
is unacceptably sluggish (if it wer a production system).

Serendipitously, a new white paper was just posted about running ITSM

for AR System in a virtual environment wasn't added until AR System
7.0.00, perhaps the white paper will still be of value to you.

Dwayne,
Just guessing - perhaps a user preference for the login with which
you're testing? Don't know if that would only affect some views of a
form, but I have had form displays weirdly enlongated horizontally and
had to blow away the user's preference record to fix the issue.
David D.
For now, we did end up going with something similar to what Fred
Grooms proposed. One of the DBAs suggested changing the int data type to
bigint. Since there isn't an actual T table in ARSystem for a view
form, we created one, and then changed int to bigint. So far,
everything's working like it
Just an FYI: You can create a View form from a Database view so you
could have created a db View of the data that converted the type to
bigint (or varchar for that matter) and your Remedy View Form from that
