Kind of OT, but...
I have a directory with both flac and mp3 files and I wanted to try out
Firefly and Itunes for steaming over internet with Hamachi.
Firefly only transcode flac to wav so I needed a mp3 only directory.
With robocopy I did a mirror to an new directory but excluded all flac
This whole thread is OT - what does mp3 and iPod have to do in
Audiophile...?

I have heard this. RG6 has tremendous capacity, its bandwidth can be up
to 1.5 GHz - suitable for satellite signals. About the only drawback I
remember hearing is that it's not very flexible.
I believe the preferred connectors for such an application are by
Canare. I'm not sure exactly what

AV8 to have your DVD playing with Analogue Direct. I am not sure what
you mean by your last comment. The sub I am looking at simply has LFE
inputs. If you could elaborate perhaps my feeble mind could figure it

If the AV8 is like other pre/pros and receivers, it will have a
subwoofer/LFE out, but this will be inactive when in direct mode
because bass management in these devices is done through the DSP, which
is bypassed in direct mode.
Which leaves us at the multiple-Transporter-output issue.

Sorry, some (most?) subs accept speaker wire connections as 'high
level' input. RCA signals on the other hand are called low/line level.

Prima, being a well-regarded cd player from a well-regarded company, is
in trouble. That's not a lot of $$$ that beat an Audio Aero upsampling

Thanks. I have a very resolving system (Modwright pre, Moscode 401HR
amp, Sason speakers) so once I have the TP and ehernet set up I'll test
it (server vs player decode) and chime back in with my $.02. Thanks for
all the quick and detailed help on this forum.

I have a small installer business and I use that system for all my audio
and video cables.
The tools were not cheap, but they are top quality, along with the
connectors and cable. Canare doesn't screw around.
I've compared them to Audioquest, MIT, XLO, and mid/high end Monster
stuff and they
As an aside for anyone else using a ReadyNAS to run SS:Switching the
setup has improved my iometer results as well. SS decode vs. TP must
unload the NV processor. No more music dropouts, quicker SS response,
and quicker data access/backup, nice! Lesson learned.

You're looking for 5v at 1.5A. It needs to be 5V (no more or less) and
at least 1.5A (higher is OK as the SB will only draw what it needs!)

Er - yes. I'd have thought you could find an equivalent in the US with
US fittings/voltage.
The mains plug of course is easily changed - but really this is a UK /

The BelCanto was reviewed in the latest Jazz Times. He liked it a great
deal. As a point of reference, their reviewer is very tube-o-philic. No
transistors for him. His ideal is the single ended vacuum tube amp. But
then he really liked their amp, which appears to be a class D - go

Well that sounds like an authoratative source, but I wonder if the
remote could be custom mapped to toggle the setting? I took a peek in
the folders KDF mentioned as holding modules that are valid for use*,
but didn't see anything that looked like a phase toggle.
BTW, even toggling won't be
I used to use foobar, but now I use Robin's script. :) Although I
sometimes have to lower the thread priority on the perl thread so that
I can use other programs at the same time.
