Yes, Terri's index is better than Canto's because it includes everybody.
And Canto may have had access to records from 100 years ago that are not
available today. Both Terri and Canto were human and although they don't
want to make mistakes, a few were probably made.
As for copying, it depends.
I noticed the priest/scribe did that after all 4 parents names. Maybe
someone else who researches your freguesia knows.

I'm pretty sure that lists from Hawaii to California do not exist. In 1902,
Hawaii was a U.S Territory, so travel between Hawaii and California would
be the same as any other states. It's between American ground and American

list of approx. 14-15 Mello's en masse traveled to California around that
time - nothing in SF, LA, Oak.

Many times, it is called "Potter's Field." That seems to be the universal

The Mount St Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Hayward

When the then new Mount St Joseph Cemetery was established my Grandfather

I think the Children's Aid Society was an east coast thing and when they
got too many kids, they started shipping them out all over the U.S. on
Orphan Trains. Basically child labor. I know for sure it wasn't a western
